ORFFA Round 3 (AFL Round 5) Mark Seaby Round The great Mark Seaby sits, sighing deeply. Now aged 41, he contemplates his life and wistfully thinks about the dozen or so years that have elapsed since his retirement from the AFL. Ever thankful for his decade in the game, his premiership with the Eagles, even his short, injury-marred stint in the Harbour City, Seaby does however admit to one regret - his inability to play for both teams he was drafted by in the original ORFFA draft many moons ago. A gentle smile crosses his face at the thought. "Can you imagine," he thinks to himself, "how interesting that would have been - to suit up for two fantasy keeper teams each week." Shaking his head, Seaby hears a knock at his door. Who could it be? He slowly stands, ankles clicking and complaining all the while, and looks out onto his front verandah. Upon seeing a young man he doesn't recognise standing at his front door, his brow furrows slightly. Seaby opens the door, slowly and inquisitively. "Hi," the young man says from outside, straining to see through the dark wire of Seaby's security door. "Is this Mark Seaby's house? Are you Mark Seaby? "Yes," comes the reply. "And, can I ask, who are you?" "I was told to come here by the ORFFA. This is the place, isn't it? You are Mark Seaby, aren't you?" "Yes, but who are you? Why are you here?" The young man laughs gently. "My name is Alex Davies. I was told to come here to talk with you as you know all about what it is like to be drafted twice by two ORFFA teams in the same draft. It just happened to me a few weeks ago and I feel a bit ... confused." Seaby chuckles. Then begins to laugh. "Mate," he says, unlocking the door and reaching for Alex's hand to engulf it in a warm handshake, "it is great to meet you. Come in ... we've got so much to chat about." Progress Round 3 score Lovely Banks Lilacs 790/10 Average 79.0 Vs Cradle Mountain Devils 640/8 Average 80.0 At home Lovely Banks have the higher aggregate score but Cradle Mountain have a wafer thin edge on average, 80.0 to 79.0. Lovely Banks have the quinella for the highest two individual scores across the entire ORFFA in the Round so far, midfielder Isaac Heeney with a massive 196 SuperCoach points and defender Archie Roberts (145). Devils lead the ton count three-two, led by ex Lovely Banks player Peter Wright with 120 points as a forward. Joining Wright in triple figures are a midfield duo that have spent their entire career at the Devils and are both former club captains, Scot Pendlebury (104) and Jack Steele (100). Lovely Banks have five players to take the field today including two defenders that are averaging 110+ in 2026, Cal Wilkie (112) and Tom Stewart (117). CMD’s eight players in action are all averaging less than 80 this season. The Devils have a Tigers quartet in the 3.15 pm game and the performance of these players will be critical to Cradle Mountain’s chances. The Lilacs are well placed to record an upset victory.
