ORFFA Round 6 (AFL Round 8) - No theme theme round Not every round needs a theme, despite what the AFL thinks. In fact, some rounds are just as good without themes - for example, this round of the ORFFA, during a week when the theme writer is snowed under with work and the site continues to crash and won't load for more than five minutes at a time. (Said theme writer needs to actually get into the site for a decent time and enter his team properly this week, lest he be left with 12 or 13 live players again like last week) So, let's make this round one without a theme, which in fact makes it have a theme, which in fact defeats the purpose of not having a theme in the first place. I'm confused and need to lay down. Venus Bay Vultures vs Wagga Wagga Wombats Junee Jaguars vs Nareewillock Nuffers Birdsville Battlers vs Cradle Mountain Devils Charlies Opening Spelunkers vs Mount Beauty Uglies Waikickamoocow Incorrigibles vs Lovely Banks Lilacs Larrikin Lagoon Lefties vs Gariwerd Cockatoos Iron Knob Codpieces vs Gundagai Grasshoppers Shark Bay Tigersharks vs Wineglass Bay Packers
So honestly I can barely get into the site right now - hence the unformatted slab of text above. It has been like this for nearly 2 weeks - so at the moment I can't make changes to my team and may struggle to update it in any way (as was the case last week). Right now I think I have Steele as a M emergency for the game tonight. Jen's Lilacs have Amon and Lipinski on the field (or at least that's the intent) as she can't access the site either. If nothing changes I'll have to just try and post the team here and hope for the best. RL is very busy at the moment so haven't really got time to keep waiting for the site to load
It's working, but very slow.. Post teams in here if you can't enter them and I will add later. Jaguars to face the Nuffers (Lazy/Time poor crop and paste)

It is the third time in 2026 that the surname of a Devils player or variation of a surname is in the opponents team name.In a bad omen for CMD they lost their previous two encounters where this was the case this season. In Round 2 Cradle Mountain lost to the Gundagai Grasshoppers 1,080 to 1,265 with Devils midfielder Jacob Hopper scoring 82 points. Cradle Mountain had a 1,033 to 1,144 loss to Lovely Banks Lilacs in Round 4 with CMD defender/midfielder Sam Banks scoring 65 points from the D4 position. This weekend Josh Battle started in defence for the Devils during the road game against the Birdsville Battlers. If the trend continues the Devils will lose to the Battlers in Round 6. With their fourth selection in the 2024 PSD Cradle Mountain selected Josh Battle with PSD pick 58. In the 2023 AFL season Battle had averaged 64 points per game, well and truly in battler territory. Over seven AFL seasons from 2017 to 2023 before being selected by Cradle Mountain Battle had a career-high of 72 SC points per game in 2019. Players selected in the fourth round of a PSD are battling the odds to survive the list cuts to play three consecutive seasons for the ORFFA club that selected them. Battle has survived four list cuts ( 2 x MSD & 2 X PSD), averaged at least 80 points per game in his first two seasons at the club and is thriving in 2026 to average 85.4 points per game over the first 7 AFL rounds, ranked equal sixth for CMD with Toby Greene. Battle isn’t playing like a battler and this trend continued by performing slightly above his season average to score 90 for the Devils against the Battlers in Round 6.
