From the Swans - Promising young player Campbell Heath has unfortunately ruptured his ACL. It happened during training, and is a big blow for Cambo, who made his debut in 2010. But the positive thing is he's decided to have LARS surgery (next Monday) and Swans doctor Nathan Gibbs expects him back playing in 3 to 4 months. Campbell is a great kid and we all feel for him. All the best Cambo! Had Heath on my bench last year - Swans tragic that I am....
@ Moonwalker, havent read anything on Varcoe for a while. Defender Nathan Krakouer is recovering from groin surgery and ex-Bulldog Jarrod Harbrow is not yet ready after a shoulder operation. Ablett will not be ready for the early rounds of the NAB Cup, after being held back due to groin soreness.

However, he was impressive in completing a skill session with the main group at training yesterday and seems about one month away from a full recovery. "He is not doing full contact work yet but we are really pleased with his progress," football manager Neil Balme said.

cameron ling http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/hamstring-twang-puts-ling-in-doubt/story-e6frf9jf-1225996751934 CAMERON Ling's pre-season has been rocked by a hamstring injury. The Geelong captain's availability for the NAB series is in doubt after being injured during a light training session yesterday. The 29-year-old was running laps of Skilled Stadium when he felt pain in the back of his leg and limped off. While the veteran will await scans to determine the severity of the injury, it was initially feared Ling had torn the muscle. In any case, the Cats are unlikely to take any risks with him through the NAB series and will endeavour to prepare Ling for Round 1 of the regular season. The setback is a cruel blow to the skipper, who is determined to lead an ageing outfit's return to the premiership dais this season. The dual-premiership midfielder was otherwise in the midst of an excellent pre-season on the eve of his 12th AFL campaign.
Petterd injured again! I was considering him for SC but now I am not sure haha http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...-intra-club-game/story-e6frf9jf-1225999585826
Adelaide: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/eye-catching-hit-out-by-new-crow-callinanl/story-e6frf9jf-1226000208730 "The only downside was minor injuries to Brad Moran (poke in the eye) and dashing defender Andy Otten (strained ankle)." That better not be a sign of things to come for those many thousands of Supercoaches taking a punt on Otten. "Midfielder Chris Knights left the field early with a corked thigh" and the other player that people might be considering from the crows... Thankfully the article says all should be available by the start of the NAB cup. Granted both are minor 'could happen to anyone' incidents but are the SC Gods trying to warn us away?
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/107550/default.aspx
MELBOURNE utility Cale Morton will miss the next six to eight weeks after injuring his finger. Morton ruptured the flexor tendon in his left ring finger at Wednesday morning's training session at AAMI Park. The 21-year-old will most likely have surgery to repair the tendon later this week.

Brisbane big man Jamie Charman out until Round 10 http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...t-until-round-10/story-e6frf9jf-1226004659814
IN A blow to Brisbane's ruck stocks and his hopes of mounting a successful comeback from injury, Lions big man Jamie Charman has revealed he will not be back in action until midway through the season The 28-year-old has not played a senior match since Round 4 of 2009 after missing all of last year with an ankle injury he suffered in a pre-season match against Carlton at Princes Park. After initially hoping the injury would not require surgery, the 2003 premiership ruckman went under the knife late last season in a bid to be fit and firing this year. But the ankle has failed to respond as quickly as the 129-game veteran would have hoped and, after seeing a specialist recently, a return has been pushed back to Round 10 at best.

Quote from stkildathunda on February 12, 2011, 07:53 Brisbane big man Jamie Charman out until Round 10

This will be good for Leunberger
I guess we can add Nathan Brown and Garrick Ibbotson to this list as well. -Ibbotson our for 6-8(estimate) with an ankle injury -Nathan Brown to miss this year after rupturing his ACL
Confirmation from Geoff Walsh that NJ Brown is going full reconstruction and not LARS. Charman out won't make much of a different for Leuenberger, because even fully fit would struggle to put either him or Clark out of the side. We rate Charman on his 2004 form not 2011.
