Thanks. We will have a huge RMT (rate my team) week once all the stuff has sorted out and we have reliable NAB Cup scores. Until then I encourage you to have a real good read of the Position Focus for each position, and input to defend your structure and players. On your team, I'm not sure about Faulks, the defence is a little light on, but the midfield and ruck (sex on the beach) is pumping. The structure is quite different to most I've seen, and all the players there have been mentioned in the Positions focus in some way or another, so you are probably going to learn a lot trailing through these threads.
Welcome scotty! As Lucas said, we tend to leave the rate my team stuff til after the NAB Cup as we prefer to concentrate on getting the right team structures in place beforehand. Have a read through this article as it might help you with some good starting structures to build your team around. http://tooserious.net/supercoach-st...#37;80%99s-talk-basic-structure#more-2400 That being said, i love the Sex On The Beach (Sandi-Cox) ruck combo. Lucas, what do you think of the Lady Gaga (Ryder-Cox) combo? LOL
Hi guys, Checked out the structures thread but for some reason comments were closed. I thought my team was looking pretty good but after reading that I'm starting to have some doubts, particularly with my forward line structure. Almost every player I have in mid-range I reckons badly undervalued/will have a ripper year so I'm a bit hesitant to trade them out. My current structure is 3-3-4 3-2-4 1-2-1 2-4-4 Any advice? Cheers
Welcome BB Starting with only 9 premiums will leave you behind the pack from round 1 as most top teams will be aiming at starting around 14-15 premiums. Currently I have 14 My current structure is: 5-0-5 (Otten is rookie priced) 3-0-6 2-0-2 4-2-4 (Higgins & Knights mid-pricers) How many of your mid-pricers are you planning on upgrading to premiums and how many do you believe will reach premium status? Read through this article to see how difficult it is to predict which mid-pricers will become premiums. http://tooserious.net/premiums-the-initial-lowdown#more-2490 Also, have a read through this article as it should convince you to trade out some of those mid-pricers for more rookies and premiums http://tooserious.net/supercoach-gnr-vs-mid-priced-structures-2011-edition#more-2430
Thanks. Having a quick scan through then (the problem with supercoaching at work) I'd say that 3-4 of the middies are looking at reaching premium this year, with any luck of course, and 3 are duds. You've helped already! Having said that I think that 8 of them will go up by around $100k as the season goes on but I'm not too sure if that makes it worth the time. Example: Kruezer from Carlton is possibly the fittest ruckman in the AFL right now but wont get games till at least round 2, probably later, and he should have a big jump just after he returns but not sure if he'll go down in value in the rounds before he plays
Hey BB... If you don't play, your value doesn't change. Therefore it's not when Kreuzer doesn't play that is as much of a concern for the value as if he does play and spuds it up. Given Warnock is a good thing at the moment, I can see Carlton being very cautious with their long term ruck investment. He might play limited TOG and play forward for a while until he gets his confidence back to play the full game. I'm expecting Kreuzer to be hitting his straps mid year but as most here want two set and forget rucks, he's not really the man for the job. The other thing on Kreuzer is he's going to cost you a fair amount to begin with; not as if he starts like Petrie as a major bargain you could take a risk with. My 2c. On the 2-4-4 forwards, where are you hiding decent midrange options? My guess is that you've got Morton, Dangerfield, Higgins and Knights Risky business if you do because we have two untried and two injury prone players (ChappyJrs)
Lucas, too easy mate cheers for clearing that up for me. In regards to forwards it was Knights, Dangerfield, Jurrah and Yarran. Jurrah should still be on the rise with more game-time this year and with Gibbs moving back to the midfield this year he should be playing the running half-back / clearence role. Won't rack up the points like Gibbs but I still think he's on for big things this year
