    Sorry Nick.
I do have Heppell in the Mids and now have replaced
    D Stanley with Buckley ...
My onfield could & should all be keepers.

If Buckley gets more than 5 games at Collingwood, I will be very worried indeed.

I see Buckley as Toovey without the courage.

I.e. a guy who gets the ball and sprays it without regard

And with backline turnovers to be avoided, I'd steer clear.

On Keefe, he's mainlisted, was done at end of last year.

With Maxwell seemingly already scratched from R1, no Brown, and Reid having a small ankle strain, it's the form of Keefe that's giving Collingwood the most heart this preseason.

BUT - he's only in SC as a ruck.

Certainly on my watchlist for the R4. I think he's one of the most mobile 200+ cm players I've seen, and I completely disagree with the Freako's statement in the Prospectus.

totally agree with you on keefe.

He looks like he could be real find this year for the pies.

He still does a couple of positioning errors but hey he is from a soccer background and they play the offside rule.

Keefe as a R4 could be a cow that we originally did not expect to have.

Keefe was in my original team as R4. Not there now but I've been very tempted to put him back in Certainly high up on the watchlist.

Grunta - from recollection he was really good towards end of 2010. Might be worth checking out his stats a bit closer and seeing how he fared against some of Freo's early opponents.

"Magic" finished the year with a bang, but 85 ppg is about as much as I could see from him.

Though with Clarke coming in and Bradley he shouldn't be needed in the ruck so might be able to settle across half back.

Not really sure if he's suited to just one role though.

I really would like to know what people think about everitt? he was chased by sydney wanted by sydney and the track record for recruits is a standard alone to the rest of the league. what you think? also like to know thoughts on this.

goddard, gibbs, deledio(3 obvious)then grimes, bock(something different POD) otten, tape, duigan, hibberd

I don't think Everitt has the ability to score at a premium level, even if Sydney give him the opportunity in their backline. He will play games, especially given the injury hits Sydney are looking at in their defensive stocks. But I just don't think he has the ability to score large in SC. Just doesn't seem to be his thing. I'd be looking at Grundy before Everitt if you wanted a POD in your backline.

Agree with that sentiment on Grundy.

If C. Bolton can get himself up to play in the opening rounds, he should cover the big forwards along with Roberts-Thompson. Thereby giving Grundy the third tall/midsize forward, which should see him drifting away from the full-back line, and seeing a little more ball.

For a big man, he is suprisingly mobile. I do worry about him being used as a pinch hitting forward though, particularly if Bradshaw doesn't get up. That adds an extra unknown.

Current team needs a 200-250k defender and was wondering who would be peoples choice? Nicoski, Astbury, or Bolton is where I am leaning.

really awkward price range Chappy. I'd personally go for a rookie and use surplus $$'s elswhere

    @chappy

I wouldn't pick any of them. I would restructure my side to either get a premium/keeper or a rookie.

Thanks. Think I might just keep the excess and keep the cookie cutter I had. Pretty happy with other positions so don't want top start putting a square peg in a round hole.

Happy to take it off your hands if it's causing any trouble, Chappy :)

There's every chance in this last week of matches there will be an injury/suspension/other somewhere which will force a rejig of the team and may just help you find a place for the left over cash. Or when the SC scores are released for all challenge matches, there might be a player who has flown under the radar that is worth consideration.

By the way, any word on whether you're playing round 1 or not?

Greg Broughton not named for this weekend's game. Anything ominous about that or is he just having a rest?
