Hey Lucas. Who are your midfield Rookies? I'd be interested to know. I currently have Chappy in my forward line so if he is out tonight I will trade him out and probably use the cash to upgrage elsewhere. Anyone else in the same positino with Chappy, and if so who are you trading him out for? My current Fwd line is Chappy, Buddy, NRoo, Cyril, Goodes, Richardson, Tapscott (Matera, Darling, Dixon)
@Nick Glad to see someone else is in the same "sinking" boat as me! I might even take a punt on Toy?? It's doing my head in... @RickJames I had the identical fwd line to you and traded Chappy for Pav.
Yeah it would have but still carnage! Could trade Chaps out for Harvey, Higgins, Didak, etc. I have gone Didak. I know his PS wasn't set on fire but as long as he is on the field, he can rack them up. Named in the midfield this week and take a look at Collingwoods first 7 games. All in Melbourne and mainly against weak opponents. If he doesn't get injured, he will score big I reckon
I'd go Harvey, tore up the PS and unless he's injured (which doesn't happen much) should still be a big scorer
@ Thommo If you haven't got Toy I'd go with him. Currently I have B Smith, Stanley, Toy, Duigan, Lower, Hibberd. I am actually contemplating taking a punt on Hunt. I dissed others for suggesting it a few weeks ago, but it could be a viable strategy. The only reason we're not happy with taking R Tarrant or B Smith or Markovic is due to JS, and Hunt has it in bucket loads. Problem is I will then have 3 GC defenders. Is that too many?
@Nick Hmm, now you have me thinking. I think I might leave Hunt alone, (even though his JS is probably best) and give Toy a run. It looks like you got cold feet on Batchelor? 3 GC defenders is probably a bit much, but I now have 7 GC players in my team, so that's probably just as risky... Markovic and Lester are probably your only other two options though. Cheers mate
I've just re-read the 15 pages of this thread and I'm still undecided on Bewick v Atley. As of next round Swallow and Harris appear off the bench, so I'm really only looking for JS and moo-factor. Bewick named on the interchange puts him a tad below Atley, named at half forward. Thoughts?
I'm struggling for that last defender spot. Markovic Pedersen B.Smith O'Shea McKernan Guthrie Hibberd Lester All in contention but all have massive JS issues. Markovic, McKernan and Pedersen all appear to be gap fillers until their contemporaries in Lake, Tippett and Grima come back from injury. The others could all very well be Relton Roberts or subs for their respective teams. And what of Puopolo? Gets talked up all pre season but doesn't get a gig in round 1 nor was he named an emergency. Should I give him the flick? Thoughts on my two problems?
I'm having the same problem. You also didn't mention Hunt and R Tarrant from that list. I had B Smith, but Symes coming back in could be a problem. I see it this way - the main reason you're not picking several of those guys is JS. Well who has the best JS in the price range? Hunt does. So at the moment I've gone him. Could be silly, but possibly not. And to your second problem yeah I'd give Puopolo the flick. Even if he gets in he'll be competing with Cheney for a spot too much.
Don't go B Msith whatever you do. Neil Craig said he may sub as well: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/109993/default.aspx This bodes better for Otten though perhaps...
Yeah the main issue is JS. I suppose with that lot plus Hunt and Tarrant, it's a matter of throwing their names in a hat and picking one out I guess. All got roughly the same Cons.
Ok so Im thinking Markovic and Hunt in the backline. I've also swapped Matera out of my forward line and put McKernan back in to use the MPP with Markovic. Thoughts?
<blockquote>Quote from mattybomb22 on March 25, 2011, 16:57 Hey guys, Berwick or Liberatore Who do you think? </blockquote>I looked at exactly this question this afternoon. I'm sticking with Bewick.
Libba is named on the ground, Bewick is on the bench which means he has a 1 in 4 chance of being the sub...
