Great news for us all. http://www.hawthornfc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/4742/newsid/113038/default.aspx
And Pup has been averaging 99 SuperCoach points in the VFL, according to Crawf. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/six-supercoach-trade-targets/story-e6frf9jf-1226049771786
Puopolo, 23, is a mature-age recruit picked up from SANFL club Norwood last season. He has been averaging 99 SuperCoach points a game with the Box Hill Hawks in the VFL this season and is available for just $103,600.

Truth be told, I'm more confident of Pup holding his spot once in. Has been up there each and every week for BH and has looked great when I've managed to catch the games. Smith is definitely worth a shot at senior level, if for no other reason than it will show him what is needed to play at the top level. However he has had a tendency to go missing for large parts of the game which is somewhat concerning. He may simply be one of those players who thrives in the big game and steps up to the challenge. Put simply - I'd be confident about bringing in Pops before he has even played a game, as I reckon he fills a hole for us, and his ability to play forward and back should keep him in the side for quite some time. Conversely, I would want to see Smith(potential sub eraly?) play his first two games before bringing him in. (but gee, would love the F/M link asap!)
And on the note of F/M links, I wonder if the Saints will blood Winmar soon? There's only so many times he can be an emergency before he gets a shot.
I would have thought Winmar slightly more likely to play than Smith. Mainly because you'd suggest it's season over for the Saints if they lose their next two to Carlton and Hawthorn. That being the case, Winmar would be getting 10 games pumped into him you'd think learning the ropes crumbing at the feet of St Nick.
Very happy to see Puopolo get a run. Handy defensive downgrade target with a mature body - something that often lends itself to SC success (see Broughton, Greg and Barlow, Michael).

Alistair Smith was emergency for roughly 11 weeks before his debut. 8 in a row last year alone!!! But yea im pretty hopeful he will very soon. But a few may have jumped in front of him in the pecking order. Ryan Gamble booted 6 on weekend, Tom Lynch had great game (dont know what this bloke has to do to get a look in), Raph was BOG by country mile... Jamie Cripps should hold his spot so could be a nice downgrade in couple weeks in backline...
just committed supercoach sin but traded Duigan out and Puopolo in. Should have waited until the subs were named but I got an itchy trigger finger.
yeah I know, it is hard to resist even on Sunday night to do some trades, but I think I'm pretty safe. It was always going to be Duigan, either for Hibberd of Puopolo, but Puopolo might just stay in the team for 6 weeks which would be perfect.

but Puopolo might just stay in the team for 6 weeks which would be perfect.
can i bold might... i hope i can. i will laugh hysterically if they decide not to go with him this week or put him as a sub.
