One of them has to go. And I'll be downgrading.

I'd burn Duigan too. I think Lower will reach his average this week.

I wouldn't trade Broughton unless he gets injured.

Interesting. I was going 2 drop duigan but there's a lot of convincing arg ument for the dropping of broughton in the round 9 trades comments.

I made the call to ditch Broughton. The other two can eek out a few more $$$s, Broughts is haemorraging cash week by week.

    But I might be wrong!

    Drop Duigan.

If it was DT I'd burn Broughton.

I ran the numbers on the rookies I have in my back line trying to decide who to get rid of first.

If my rookies, Duigan and Batchelor were likely to pop another 25k to 30k this week and (in a result that surprised me) Thompson, Lower and McKernan had upside of only 3k to 5k each. So I got rid of Thompson this week and Lower and McKernan are next on the chopping block as Duigan and Batchelor build a bit more value.

Of course, this analysis all falls apart if Lower, Thompson and McKernan score big this week, but with three of the five rookies I had, three in the $270k range, the other 2 in the low $200k's I think I made the right decision.

In short, the salary predictor is a useful tool.

    cheers,
    Bill

Too true DC, but if one is looking to decide where current and near term future value may lie in terms of cashing out a rookie this week or next (assuming they are both going to go in the next 2 weeks) logic would seem to dictate that of Duigan and Lower and one had to go this week and the other was to go next week then the answer would seem to be Lower this week and Duigan next.

    ymmv etc, etc

All true, and again, why I cut Broughton. Sure, I bought him as a keeper, but he's not playing like one and there's no signs he's about to start.

Duigan will make more money (I think he does well when Carlton play tough opponents, like Geelong, too) and Lower has shown he can punch out big scores.

The opportunity to flip Broughton for Suckling and still pocket some money was too much to resist. It's my only vaguely sideways trade of the year, so I've been good. Still got 16 trades to go and lots of cows to cull.

Broughts with a solid 92 (you're dead to me, Broughts)... Lower goes BANG with a 141.

    Repeat, that is 1-4-1. Boom.

Was almost going to Start L Thompson instead of Lower this week. Jeff Dujan played well too.
Have Heppel and Lower only 1 can be my D7

Well I cut Duigan in the end. Glad I did, even though he could be a consistent 80-90 bench player. I kept Lower and Broughton - despite the slight risk of having two Freo defenders - because I believe they have the potential to punch out bigger scores. Broughton has about 2 weeks left to prove it.
