Petrie dish straight into the ruck for Sandiman. Will kick some goals and do some ruckwork in the next few weeks. Kangas have a good run next 4 games.
Be interesting to see if Impromptu trades Sandi out again. Could be 4 trades on Sandi alone this year.
I think I need to make the Sandy - Mummy trade to try and claw pack some points and hope he goes troppo like we all know he can. However if I trade him in this week I will miss out on Jacobs who is important for team structure. Jacobs is the last D/M MPP coming through and without him I could come into trouble in the byes with Newman/Deledio in my backline and if I pick up Scotland and or Fisher then clashes with Goddard and Gibbs. What's more important, team structure or a POD?
i don't have Cox, so does Sandi to Cox make sense? Other rucks are Leuenberger, Z Smith and Keefe. Also no Petrie or Tippett up forward. Can then look to upgrade Leuie to Sandi when he returns.
Yeah sounds like a great trade Kel, your rucks will be far too weak with just luey and smith for 4 weeks.
Going to hang fire on any Sandilands trades for now. If there are indications the absence might be a bit longer, may have to trade him out but for now I'd hate to trade him and have him return, as scheduled, in 4 weeks.
Me too Chris - the big fella can sit there on the pine while the Dish does the job. I sorta kinda figured that this might happen at some stage so what was $200k and a bit insurance at the start of the year is now paying off.
@General, very good point. In fact, I think we can all safely lay the blame for Sandi's injury at Impromptou's feet. Had he not tempted the SC Gods, this wouldn't have happened.
Xenomorph - yes, that was my attitude at the start of the year after losing ruckmen in previous years. Spend a bit more on a couple of good bench rucks. I grabbed Smith, but decided to go Fraser. ATM Fraser is injured, but Smith is doing well, so it's worked out.
What are people doing if they have Sandilands, Ryder, Smith and a non playing player in the ruck and no Petrie either? I was always going to upgrade Ryder to Cox in round 24 if I got that far, but if I was going to do it then, I mayswell do it now, only problem is I miss out on the tapscott lynch and then Libba Ablett double. I think the Ryder to Cox trade is the go though. Anybody else with this combo?
One other thing about the Sandilands injury. We've talked about the flow on effects to a guy like Mundy - but I tell you what, I'd be nervous if I owned either Fyfe or Pavlich right now - especially Fyfe. Mundy and Pav with their bigger bodies might be able to win their own ball a decent number of times, but I worry that Fyfe may not be able to get as much clean possession with his lighter body. Richmond figured him out a few weeks back, buffeting him near the contests and running larger bodies players through him - and he only had an average night. One wonders if the Saints might try something similar this week.
Speaking DT here... Have Sandi/Cox with Z Smith/Bailey on bench - not willing to trade Sandi out at this stage... also have Petrie in FWDS... wat are the thoughts on downgrade Z Smith to J Tippett for the R/F MPP then swap with Petrie to play in place of Sandy for next few weeks. Pros - cash made from Smith, keep Sandy in side, Petrie avg 10 PPG than Smith Cons - J Tippett chances of getting game time? Sitting 401st so still looking at overall, even if unlikely.
I'm loving the Ruck combo names: Sex on the beach - Sandi-Cox MILF/Oedipus/Bangkok Surprise - Mummy-Cox So now I've seen Ryder-Cox - is this "PornStar", or "Love being on top"
Newbie, sounds okay. If you are going for overall I just don't think you can have 550k sitting on the bench for that long. You are already using 1 trade to bring in Tippet, so why not use 2 to take sandi out and bring him back. I reckon this is a gift from the SC gods, I was going to trade smith out for cash(have Petrie in the forwards and MPP happening), instead, I'm gonna take the cash and move Sandi on, will leave me with 500k cash and about 3 upgrades to keepers over the next 2 weeks. Think about that 4 trades, 3 are upgrades, apart from a key ruck, my side is finished. This is trade heaven, Smith/Petrie providing cover for R1 for the next 4/5 weeks. The reality is, if you wanted to make 3 upgrades it would usually cost you at least 5 trades anyway, assuming none are almost sideways. Simply put, the shear amount of cash generated by a Sandi trade will probably SAVE you 1 trade. Rather than jumping on Sandi as soon as he is back, watch and see if their is a problem, there is no way Freo would be resting him if this wasn't serious. BTW, all the time Smith's price is moving up, if he does well the next 4/5 weeks he could be worth 370k, not a big cash move if Sandi looks ok.

Quote from BungKnee23 on May 24, 2011, 14:40 Cheers Banz... liking your slant on things
That's only for overall Bung.
I agree with Banz. I've had Sex on the Beach plus Smith and Bailey from the outset. If I leave Sandi on the bench, that's 5x40=200 points I'm down. If I downgrade to a rookie, that's 400k I can use to do most of my final upgrades. Then when he's back (and after observing for a week or 2), I can upgrade back to him via Bailey or Smith. Seems to me 500k is a lot to have sitting on the bench. And if you traded out Watson, then Sandi is the same deal.
