"super" - as in that was a super effort. You barely hear the word super used in any other context anymore. The other one that gets me is when players say "myself" when it should be "me".
'Brave'. Used whenever a team wins or is competitive in a game when they have an injured player on the bench. Also, any Glen Jakovich injury report, with such gems as 'could be a leg', 'looks like its his left arm' & 'he's hobbling a bit, probably a hamstring'..
"Structures" and in particular "executing our structures" makes me want to take to my ears with a holesaw. 9/11....now that was executing structures...
Great thread. Some funny ones in there. Structures is up there for me this year but also... "He's a player isn't he?" - I would have thought they are all player's? I think Malcolm Blight called Chris Dawes a footballer on Sat night in the same context! also: "Ball up in the middle, rucks go at it". - Perhaps we don't commentary every time this happens!
Come on 82asch if you don't have the "rucks go at it" you can't go back to old Mike Williamson tapes and hear "the players set themselves". Man that line was used all game because it was a stop-start contest. Mark, kick, players set themselves, mark, kick (oh Jesaulenko....you beauty....)
I personally despise "We've just got to stick together and do the hard yards on the training track". This usually comes after a pathetic loss (ie. Kurt Tippett said something similar last night after the Crows' inspid showing against North Melbourne)
