good evening all, So, my team bombed this week thanks to poor performances from Mundy, Heppell, Watson, Goodes, J Riewoldt, Darling and my own stupidity (I accidently put Libba (59) on the field instead of Krak (84) which cost me a win in my CASH league... aarrgghhh!!!). Likewise, TOTR dropped a little with a low spread of scores with only 5 players cracking the 140 mark. You needed: Goddard - STK - 143 Thompson - KAN - 132 Johncock - ADE - 131 Grundy - SYD - 115 Morris - WBD - 109 * Hurn - WCE - 109 * Carrazzo - CAR - 109 * Wells - KAN - 360 (c) Boyd - WBD - 164 Ablett - GCS - 139 Sewell - HAW - 136 Embley - WCE - 130 Pendlebury - COL - 129 Seaby - SYD - 152 McEvoy - STK - 121 Harvey - KAN - 155 Edwards - KAN - 139 Cloke - COL - 138 Pavlich - FRE - 133 O'Keefe - SYD - 130 Ballantyne - FRE - 129 Betts - CAR - 120 bench of $91,700 no-namers with $32,300 in the bank. Now, some keen observers may have noticed the * next to the three defenders in Morris, Hurn and Carrazzo... They all scored 109, along with Andrew Mackie from Geelong. So this would usually be the part where I apologise to Mackie for missing the cut. BUT, THIS IS MY TEAM... I GO FOR THE HAWKS AND I DON'T LIKE ANDREW MACKIE SO BAD LUCK COCKO, YOU'RE OUT OF THERE! Last week's TOTR dropped 932 from 3204 to 2272 (the best follow up performance so far). Special mentions to the following for all making their 4th TOTR: Pendlebury, Pavlich and O'Keefe. I had 2 players make the cut (Goddard and Ablett), meanwhile the $1000 winner for this round (Nimbus Wave) had 9 players... Take care, The Silverback PS I traded in Fisher last week...
I have 3, Pavlich, Goddard, McEvoy. Bringing Boyd in this week. I've been waiting for this Silverback, great work once again, keep it up!
Managed 4 (Goddard, Grundy, Pendles & Capt. GAJ) I like your thinking re Mackie but still unhappy having to waste a trade - to remove Duckwood! When will we ever beat the Cats in a close one!! Nice work again Silverback & nice to see the emotive side with a bit of shouting. BTW What a sad way for Roughie's run in TOTR to finish :-(
Another great TOTR post Silverback - got 4 of my team in there this week. Agree 100% with your Mackie decision - the guy just doesn't deserve a TOTR position even if he did score enough (he killed me with inconsistency last season, so I hate him)!!! Always look forward to seeing the team posted each week, keep up the great work.
Thanks again silverback! My 'mrs' finished 13th for the week and had 6 players from this team. Just traded in Boyd who made the team, so that helped! My team also had 6 make the cut, but interestingly mostly different players to the 'mrs'. @ walesy, looking forward to the new comp!
Pardon the ignorance being the 1st time I have looked at this thread....TOTR - team of the round?? If thats the case.... I had 6 players from this team. Went a little closer this week ranked now overall 560th but 956 points off the pace. Is that too many points to even consider trying to catch up? Should I save what trades I have left and aim to win league? My current ranking is a PB and I haven't gone back a place since round 1. Thoughs??

Whilst he wasn't in my team, I was finding joy in seeing Roughie's continual appearances in the TOTR. This week I managed just the four - Goddard, Pavlich, ROK and captain Pendles.

Trust the guy I played in my cash-league to have 7 of the TOTR! I mean seriously, how many people would have picked up Betts, Wells and Mackie this year? :S
@Tino, I'd just like to point out that Mackie did NOT make the TOTR. Don't do that again. (lol) @Walesy, another simple fun comp idea that myself and a few others did a couple of times last year was a 'super 3' comp. Basically you picked any 3 players for the weekend whose total value was under $1m (or similar). The lowest scoring player had their score doubled to add a twist (this was to help ease the pain of a big failure by one of your selections!). eg. last week you could have picked: Sewell (HAW) $390,300 - 136 points Betts (CAR) $304,300 - 120 points Ballantyne (FRE) $261,800 - 129 points total score = 505 (136 + 129 + 120 + 120) total spend = $956,400 bit of fun 'cos it's quick to do and calculate, from memory cracking 400 was a pretty good effort.
