@taminator looks a good squad with 8 trades left...really well done. obvious omissions from your team IMO would mainly be in the MIDs - ablett, boyd, priddis and in the FWDs - steviej, chappy and ROK. with 8 trades you should be able to get at least 4 in to replace say heppell, prestia, j roo and mz. petrie offers good cover for sandi. your plan might be to trade in the next couple to get at least two more guns in, sit until finals and then leave 2 more guns for the matches that count. overall - you are ina strong position with 8 trades and a pretty handy team good luck
im seriously considering a johnson -> shaw this week. sitting in the top 4 (x2 leagues) only by a whisker and really need a couple of wins to consolidate. 3 trades left will then become 2 if i trade down hibberd or buckley for talia r18 to get back my f/d link (with mckernan) lost with the a johnson trade. plan is to sit tight on $290k for two final trades. smith -> sandi rd20 mzungu/i smith -> rok, fyfe or sylvia rd21 am i mad?
So I look to see which premiums are expected to fall in price over the next few weeks to see who could be a bargain come finals similar to the current Bartel or Montagna. Who do I find? All the players I already have! Ablett, Selwood (traded out), Petrie and Fisher. Argh!

Sitting 582nd overall and top of all my league with 4 trades left. Weakest starting player is Lower, and I'm keen to upgrade him at the beginning of the finals. Only problem with that is I have Gibbs, Judd, Petrie (who I can cover for with Hale/Smith), Boomer and Johnson (hoping to win my first finals to skip Geelong's bye). So, am I better off keeping Lower and trading one or two of those who have the finals bye (most likely Judd/Harvey) or bench them and upgrade Lower? I have $112k in the kitty so I can avoid a double trade to make an upgrade. FYI my benches consist of Puop, Hibberd & L Thompson/Swallow, Mzungu & B Jacobs/Smith & Gawn/I Smith, Howe & Pitt.)
