With a lot out of trades and just the big one to go nows the time to check your opponent and have a serious look as to who has the strongest team. With most going Ablett & Swan the time has come if you think your behind to roll the dice on captain. What are peoples thoughts for a roughy ?. Mitchell, Buddy & Rioli V GC ?. Boyd V Freo ?. Fyfe V Dogs ?. Priddas V Crows ?. Juddy & Murphy or Goddard & NDS in a big game ??. Goodes V Brissy ?. Pendles or Selwood in another big one ?.
Going Goodes at SCG V Maguire, leaks goals. Risky, but hey, no Grand Final and just playing the final round for fun. Boyd at Etihad V Freo must be considered IMO
Ablett, (Pending an OK record of cause) he is THE safest option out there EDIT: Ablett v Hawks Rd 13 ’11: 144 SC 34 Disposals Rd 15 ’10: 79 SC 32 Disposals 1 Goal Rd 2 ’10: 128 SC 38 Disposals Rd 17 ’09: 139 SC 33 Disposals 1 Goal Rd 1 ’09: 162 SC 35 Disposals 1 Goal Average is: 130SC w/ 34 Disposals Hoping that he was injured in that 79 otherwise brilliant record, LOCK HIM IN!!
Ive had Buddy locked in here since May. The good thing about making the decision early subject to a few tests is I can't second guess myself. Like any finalist, gotta follow the process that's got me into the game.
Rule of thumb this year has been Swan or Ablett, unless another mid is playing GC. Those with Mitchell or Hodge must give them serious consideration.
Boomer has been known to bounce back hard after a poor round. Could he turn it on against the Tigers ??.

Quote from Tino on August 30, 2011, 00:59 Buddy for me. Will kick minimum 5 against the GC and guaranteed to ton up.
Thats what we all said last time he played GC...
As i said last time watch out for Nathan Bock to shut Buddy down..... Sammy Mitchell scored 145 last time and will probbably give it to him again. But as im out of all leagues i might take a risk and throw it on Petrie vs Richmond
My perma captain has been Lil' Gaz but my 3 GF opponents likely to have him also, or Swanny. To get a POD, I'm considering Mummy for the Granny <laughs quietly to self over pathetic familial wordsmithing>. Seriously I do like the big sausage eater this week.

stay well away from buddy imo. bock has done an incredible job on him in recent times. ablett for mine
Thinking Mummy for a POD and a hail Mary as I am up against it with no trades and 3 premiums on the bench. Need a big Captain score or die trying.

Quote from shanaz on August 30, 2011, 11:50 although mumford looking very tempting...
i rate it...mummys in cracking form... but doubt i'll have the plums to back him in during GF week - can't bring myself to give the C to anyone but a midfielder during the GF!
With scores of 143,157 and 138 in previous encounters with Richmond I think Andrew Swallow likee mucho to play the Tigers. If i don't have to cover too many injuries I hope to draft him in as my capt. I feel nervous for anyone in the top 3. Crikes, any niggle and any of the obvious choices for capt could get the red vest and literally cost you $50k. Hopefully it does not come down to anything as trivial as this.
