I was thinking if Mike Sheahan can make an afl top 50 why can't I make a SuperCoach top 50. Like Mike Sheahan's list it will be MVP.

I'll probably complete the list over the next couple of days.

  3. Just a suggestion but try heading into the stats page and clicking on the "ave" tab, this sorts all players from 2011 by average score over the year. First 50 names are your top fifty SC players for the year

That doesn't quite work I'm looking for the MVP top 50 not the 2011 top fifty averaging players.

You wouldn't put Paul Johnson at number 19.

  6. I wouldn't put Paul Johnson anywhere

You have no idea, do you. That list judges MVP value by the end of round 24. SuperCoach is played over 24 rounds not the end of the last round.

MVP value judges average points per game divided by price. Gary Ablett would be much more valuable than a rookie because someone has to get your points.

    @SuperCoachSuperStar

If you know all of this, then just make the list already, if you don't know how, don't judge others for trying to help! We're all one big community aren't we?

    Sainter FTW!

Tough to do a SC top 50 as you would probably have 50 mids with a few rucks thrown in. Not too many pure forward or defenders. So you'd probably have to put in guidelines.

    If you go with these:
Top 10 forwards regardless of MPP based on average and have played 10+ games
Top 10 backs regardless of MPP based on average
Top 4 rucks regardless of MPP based on average
Top 9 mids based on average

This gives a squad of 33 of which I'd say all would be part of a decent "top 50". From there you might want to put in players who appreciated most in value from start to finish of the year (say top 10 who weren't in the above list)

You need another 7. Would be good to get a bit more rookie appreciation. I'd go for the best two under 175k at start of year as long as they weren't in the above lists.

Now for the final 5. For team balance, the best MPP players who are not part of the above lists should be selected.

    And that's my top 50.

So...by order of the Average PPG ranking; the SC top 50:

    From 50 to 1

    47 - Stanley
    46 - I Smith
    45 - Mzungu
    44 - Puopolo
    43 - Lower
    42 - Heppell
    41 - Z Clarke
    40 - Pedersen
    39 - Martin
    38 - R Murphy
    37 - Zaharakis
    36 - Carazzo
    35 - Petrie
    34 - Birchall
    33 - Bock

    29 - Newman
    28 - Rioli
    27 - Shaw
    26 - Harvey
    25 - Chapman
    24 - Roughead
    23 - Gibbs
    22 - O'Keefe
    21 - Deledio
    20 - Scotland
    19 - Pavlich
    18 - Johnson
    17 - Goddard
    16 - Fyfe
    15 - Goodes
    14 - Sandilands
    13 - Franklin
    12 - Goldstein
    11 - Mumford
    10 - Priddis
    9 - Rockliff
    8 - Judd
    7 - Boyd
    6 - M Murphy
    5 - Dal Santo
    4 - Swan
    3 - Cox
    2 - Ablett
    1 - Pendlebury

The big surprise for me was Rockliff - unfortunately he won't be discounted next year due to his points as SC rankings are brutally efficient and don't take popularity into the equation.

    Still, not a bad POD.

Hope that helps ladies and gents.

  14. Carazzo? Nice. I didn't even look at him for SC this year

You should give players who miss games penalties. In particular players that are expected to play (your premiums).

    For me criteria would include:
    Total points scored
    Value for money
    Hot Streaks
    Cash Cow efficiency

For me Mzungu coming in as a perfect downgrade is more valuable than picking the #12 overall midfielder due to timing and value appreciation.

Couldnt even attempt to complete a top 50.

I look forward to someone posting a main page article.

I have to say, Hawks having 8 players in Lucas' top fifty says good things haha. And that is with Sammy Mitchell not even making it!
