Think I got 447, about average I think. Those with Warner will have done well.

Way to smack an ugly full toss out of the WACA Triffitt. Now if only I had you on the field...

Pretty annoyed that the live scores aren't up yet.

More annoyed by the fact that they will also have had to update prices (or will they do it after 2 games? - no idea and no discussion on this).

I could have manually typed in the updates as of now.

I did fairly well with my team without being exceptional. Mid pack at best I'd think with players like Siddle being replaced with Hazlewood across the board.

BAT:
D Hussey (runout costly, and not bowling enough overs)
Lumb (2 runs off an extra 20 bonus)
Birt (smart selection, good cool head)
Bailey (steady hand will do well at Stars)
Cooper (decided I would have a settled batting grp)

AR:
Gayle (did stuff all but will go electric at some stage)
Afridi (my capt and he reminds me of Buddy)
Edwards (bowls trash; lucky to survive in team)

WK:
Smith (solid dig, needs to do more at keeping)
Triffitt (excellent backup)

BWL:
Naved (excellent death bowler)
McKay (only bowler to slightly quieten Warner)
Lee (did enough in an easy win)
Hauritz (my biggest mistake; with Brisbane's deep batting he didn't get a hit- should have gone Bollinger/Hilfenhaus; ah well)
Hazlewood (good backup)

453 to start; looks like lockout might end soon. Let's hope.

Started with 440, I thought it was pretty solid but ended up 2nd last in the TSCC league. My only real miss was Finch with his 4 - could have been worse, it was between him and Cam White for that spot!

Had some of the bigger scorers this round cycling through my team initially (Maxwell, Hilfenhaus, Naved, Christian), ended up with none of them it seems. My big miss was Kane Richardson, was recommended in this forum I believe? What a buy he would have been!

This competition seems to be managed fairly poorly with a severe lack of information available, but hard to argue with the prize support.

Well, started with a healthy 565 and 5/5 league wins - average commencement to the comp I think considering it only places me at 1344 in the rankings.

Gets me that the Fox comp ended lockout at midnight AEDT but VS couldn't unlock till this morning!!!

As for the Fox comp, I started there with an 833 first round ranking me 5652 - top scorer for the round made 1671, with Warner (C) earning them a missive 762 - big differences in the scoring systems.

382-Hopeless

Afridi - 42 (score x2) as captain not good enough
Finch - 4 terrible
Quiney - 7 opened the batting you've got to score more than that
Voges - only 22 needs to be better if you are priced at $80,400
This is just a breif outline of what cost me.

Basically I think the big scorers were the Warner teams, especially those with him captain.

Fair enough, they will have to trade him for the next match, and if they don't do that today or tomorrow before the start of the match they risk getting a zero.

That is of course if he isn't allowed to play before Boxing Day. The selectors might let his run continue. Will be interesting viewing.

Christian is the other interesting one. I think both will be put on ice as it's only 3 days before Boxing Day with the Strikers v Thunder.

I might just go double or nothing on Afridi. Let's face it I will need something to go massively right for me to come back in this comp.

Or I go Gayle. With no Warner, he must fire or the Thunder is basically Khawaja, Smith and the tail.

Pretty happy 644 without Warner. Plenty of room for improvement though with White and Gibbs both failing.

@%#^

walesy got me! 527 v 510

Apparently trades can't be stored so use em or loose em, also I think I read value increases same as SC.
So no changes until a player has played 3 games.

Had Warner but Hopes used as capt due to chance for batting & bowling pts. Had Simpson in my side with Cowen as sub so a zero there. Happy with Marsh as my 2nd all rounder & avoided the internationals until I see some form from them. Starc best of bowles (Nannes, Lee & McKay) with Hazelwood 's 60 left on the pine.

If Warner misses I need Cowen to do SOMETHING!!

Trades: Out Voges & Simpson - In Finch & Maxwell
(Not much time to think with a game tomorrow night)

TS League ranked 434/2132

No price changes for 3 games is a bit awkward, was planning on bringing in Richo for some quick cash.

Looks that way though one might argue that they could change after two games if you click on the player's individual pages.

It's totally stuffed how you don't know this before the season starts though.

I'm still looking at trading out Hauritz for Richardson but have been waiting 24 hours before I do something stupid.

My other trade would be probably a bench change, maybe Edwards out and Faulkner in.

503 in the hand, better than I predicted.

Finch was a flop, pissed off I moved out Birt so I could fit an extra bowler. Also annoyed that all 3 of my bench did sweet fuck all. Cowan went AWOL (wtf was the point of the hoohar over him playing?), Butterworth got injured the day before and Gale wasn't even selected. Pleased with Triffit but he scored 40 more than Crosthwaite! Bloody hell, there's a conundrum for next week.

Richardson, Lynn all good rookie picks Lucas, well done for identifying them. Not sure where I'm going to use my 2 trades. Need to see what Butters injury is like. Will probably downgrade Lyon to Richardson now too and try and find a decent backup batter.

Price changes are DEFINITELY after a player has played 3 games. I managed to find this in the scoring/FAQ section by unfolding a question about salary caps!

As I have only gone 1 rookie on each line and 2 of these did not play round 1 I am thinking of bringing in 2 of the better round 1 rookies to make some quick cash, but will wait until tomorrow evening when hopefully there may be some useful team information available!

TTH, no point bringing in "cash" rookies until after round two if they only go up after 3 games. Save your trades for other areas first, the guy you bring in may spud it up or not even get a game!

Some news (what I could find):

Heat
Going in with one keeper so Hartley is out. Ryan Harris is likely to return.

Stars
Likely unchanged

Sixers
Haddin and Cowan out, Nevill and Moran in.

Thunder
Butterworth out for at least another match. Gayle will play.

Strikers
Pollard has been replaced it seems, anyone know by whom?

Pollard being injured before at training last week allowed the Strikers to play both Johan Botha & Alfonso Thomas - having all 3 of those Internationals on the list was a sound insurance policy in hindsight - the initial plan was to rotate Botha & Thomas depending on pitch conditions.

If another player has been recruited to the Strikers squad to replace Pollard I am not sure as yet - missed all news reports today!!!

http://www.theage.com.au/sport/cricket/what-happens-at-bat-camp-20111219-1p2kr.html#ixzz1h1Qxg1xD

COMBATING India's swing bowlers, preaching mental toughness and one-on-one sessions dealing with cricket and life are set to be the focus of Australia's batting camp, beginning in Melbourne TODAY
• Michael Clarke – N/A
• Ricky Ponting – Hobart
• Michael Hussey – Perth
• Brad Haddin – 6ers
• Dan Christian – Brisbane –
• Shane Watson – 6ers
• Shaun Marsh - Perth
will take part in the three-day camp ………………
------------------------------
But New Limited reports today are saying Dan Christian will be playing tonight for Brisbane and be then be flying down to Melbourne tomorrow – so a bit unfair to the 6ers if Haddin is in camp and doesn’t play !!

And remember Hughes, Khawaja, Warner, Cowen, Bollinger, Tom Cooper and John Holland are playing in the Chairmans XI match until Wed 21st, so make sure you either trade them out or have cover !!

@port_leschenault - definitely food for thought - at this stage I will be replacing Pattinson either with a cheapie (Richardson??) or a midprice (MacGill??) and swapping in either an ALLROUNDER or BATTER rookie for non playing counterpart. The reasons why are
(i) I narrowly missed a donut last round by having Hazlewood on my bench so defintely am keen to get playing rookies onboard as insurance
(ii) I only have $800 leftover so need to get a slight buffer (ie $20K) to get some trading flexibility for rd3 onwards
(iii) if I get injuries to premiums this round this would give me all sorts of headaches durign the next trading period.
