Oh yeah, I agree with Ruddy about McCauley. With Hale and (hopefully) Roughead we have two players who can support Bailey. Only way I see McCauley getting off the rookie list is if Bailey goes down (strong possibility). Then it would be a case of him v Lowden.
Is anyone else extremely suspicious that SKT hasn't mentioned McEvoy at all? I can see SKT sitting back, wringing his hands in delight. McEvoy... McEvoy... McEvoy...
I'm thinking of going Mumford + Leuenberger with Giles + Stephenson covering. The Main issue is none of them have the bye in round 13
A couple of names here that I'm not seeing much of 1. Kruezer 2. Renouf Particularly Renouf given his price and potential for #1 Ruck at Port (please correct me if I'm wrong) How about : Renouf as #2 Ruck Average last year of 57, Priced at $248k Thoughts? Viable #2 Ruck and use cash elsewhere?
2-0-2 a possibility this year for moi. I haven't forgotten how well the rucks scored last year under a slightly different sc system. There are some good cheapies and the holy grail of 2 set and forget ruckman would be a dream, but more likely an oasis.
HMac would be amazing if it wasnt for Goldstein. Renouf may be a possibility. No love for Sandi is surprising.

Lobbe is Primus's 1st choice ruckman and Renouf was traded in to provide cover and back-up with Brogan gone and Redden, Curnow & Webb still learning their craft

Arthur, don't follow your heart. Its a big risk to put 229K for a ruck when he hasn't proven himself at AFL level. And whether he'll fit into ou backline is also yet to be seen. Just saying.

I am thinking: 1. Nic Nat 2. Kruezer 3. Giles 4. Stephenson with Rowe as my #7 forward. Means playing 2 and 4 in week 11, 1 and 2 in week 12, and 1 and 3 in week 13. Rowe gives an out for injury through the forard line. Assumes the rookies play (crosses fingers and toes). Any thoughts on the approach of going with the up and comers and investing heavily in mids? regards chels
Mummy is my #1. Bloke is a superstar. McCauley had to be recruited for more than 4th ruck spot. The fact that Voss let him go means the bloke will go places in my humble opinion ( Voss has done nothing right so far ...........And will continue with that theme). Still I am by no means up to speed with the season but will be watching him in the NAB like a hungry vulture.
Im thinking along these lines Leuenberger Kreuzer Giles Big O Rowe F7 Keepers have 1st & 3rd bye rounds giving me plenty of weeks to fatten Giles & Big O to upgrade to Roughie or someone else.
Am having 2nd thoughts about using Rowe as F7 now after hearing about his shoulder injury (not sure how bad it is). Some tinkering with the team for sure now!!!
I would go McEvoy, but lets see how the new coach uses him. Rucks (especially R1 and R2) are going to do my head in this year, I can see it now. R3 and R4 look fairly consistent. I think a 1:3 split in the rucks could be dangerous, especially that we all saw ruck scores inflate considerably last year with the sub rule introduced. Personally I don't think I could risk Giles at R2. We'll see in the NAB. Interesting very little talk about Sex on the Beach. Could even be a unique!
Guys, it may have already been addressed elsewhere (and if so, my apologies), but I have a question for the gurus here. I recall that last year Champion Data made a change to ruck (tap to advantage) scoring that meant ruckmen's scores for the year were inflated. There was talk that they would rectify this scoring anomoly this year - has it happened? Of course, this doesn't help in terms of who you choose, as the relativities of ruck scores will be maintained, it's just that they ahould all come down a little, suggesting SC scores across the board won't be as high this year. Or am I completely missing the point?
