Just saw Essendon has put Gumby & Prismall on the Long term injury list. This should open spots up to move the rookies on the senior list, and it got me thinking. Which other rookies are you looking at who need to be upgraded before the season?
http://tooserious.net/training-repo...long-gold-coast/comment-page-1#comment-113719 Lee Spurr is the big one, he needs an LTI to get upgraded. From Essendon probably Baguley and Lee but I know nothing about them Hitchcock on the list as well means a better chance for Pfeiffer too, right Bearfly? Irons the other likely one?

Pfeiff has a history of poor attitude/application at 2 previous AFL clubs, plus his inefficient disposal could hurt his chances. With Hitchcock on the LTI, this leaves opportunities for 2 players from the rookie list though - many people forget that Port has only 1 player on the veterans list (Cassisi), opening the door for a rookie to be upgraded there. Keep an eye on these lads in the NAB, and especially Danny Butcher if he gets a run.
Herald sun has given Brendan Lee pretty big wraps. "If you see the word "upgrade'' appear next to this rookie's name in a news story in the next few weeks, have no hesitation adding him to your team. The mature-age recruit has been a proven ball magnet in the WAFL, winning East Perth's B&F last year and averaging 29 disposals and four tackles per game. Might need luck to get a look-in, but a must-have if he makes the grade." http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/essendon-bombers-supercoach-2012-preview/story-fn88c7kz-1226259644939 An average 29 possies in the WAFL, sounds good to me. Hopefully he debut a bit later in the season, so he's a good trade down target in the midfield.
Prius was on SEN recently and indicated Danny Butcher has had pneumonia for a lot of the pre-season so may not be upgraded at this stage.
Yeah, young Dan Butcher did have a spot of pneumonia for a bit, but has put in some hard work. Word from Port is Pfeiffer training mainly with the backs - not sure if he will get much of a go down there due to about 8 players all vying for one spot. Jonas could be the biggest chance now, has added some bulk & demonstrated in the last 4 games of 2011 that he has the ability to curb the influence of quality opposition players when playing a negating run-with role.
