Hi Guys, not sure if anyone has asked or even worked this out but was wondering what would be the best possible AVG starting team you could make with this years budget! (It would mean everything being equal to last years AVG and this years rookies obviously wont be included)?? Would be intresting to find out and see how far the total avg points per round differed from the eventual winner!!

Well to start with you'd load up the bench with the real cheap rookies.

It's got a lot to do with discounts. The best team based on last year's averages would be greater than:
    (10,000,000-8*94,700)/5421

My highest so far is 2098. That's with Pendles as Cap & the 5 rookies on the field all scoring 50. But as some like to do....(as we dream on), & score rookies at 70 points a pop- that's an extra 100. So that would make it 2198. I'm sure there are heaps who have calculated way higher....do tell!

My current team calculates at: 1500 for 14 prems + 120 extra for captain. Then at 60 points per rookie x 8 total of 2100 1st round score. Pretty happy with that but who bloody knows!

I have 1990 with 6 rookies on the field so if you go with 50ppg =2290 but if you say 70ppg =2410. Not looking too bad atm.

That's an average of over 124 per player, or 117 including captain..

as was pointed out earlier- based on last years averages, because price is based on averages - everything will be equal.

The exceptions are: discounts will push up your average.

Rookies are priced at a 35 average - so assuming a 50/70 will inflate that figure as well.

@Spangle - think you need to redo your maths there mate. It's doable... what did meataxe hit round 1 last year? I think it was 2500 or so, no?

If he has 1990 with 6 rookies, that's 1990 from 16 fielded players - which is an average of just over 124 for each of those 16 fielded players?

I'm not saying it's impossible to hit that score in round one (as you've just said!) but based on last years averages you can't! :p

Ahh.. different thing, that's your projected score for round one, and its not purely based on last years averages :)

ay Knuckles are you keeping that golden team a secret, or just happnd to cut off the image at the top of the field ;)

  19. Unfortunately I believe SC Gold also factors in a score for the rookies into their equations so I think you're counting them twice effectively. I could be wrong though, and not trying to diss you at all

My SC predicted round one score is 1726 with 8 zeros. It does not appear to be assigning rookies a prediction so the comparison seems valid?
