Now, to prevent the other places on the site being filled with RMT threads, I've opened this board up for the people that just have to do it. Remember though, the general policy that we run on this site, is that we don't do RMT's until after the NAB has finished. Why do we do that? Because everything changes greatly on a week to week basis. You know it, I know it - we'll be tweaking our teams a million times between now and lockout. However, rather than crack down and grump and everyone - just do your RMT's here. Means that people that want to get involved in that style of discussion can, while the rest of us who want to avoid it until we know all we can, well, can.
Thought has occurred that, when it comes to rookies, this year affords the opportunity to view R1 teams before finalizing the SC team (think the Suns had the R1 bye last year). While many will have their rooks penciled in and reserves up their sleeve, there could be big changes depending on who actually gets a R1 start. RMTs could be helpful in terms of GnR or GMR, choice of prems or, heaven forbid, mid-pricers, but rookie choice may largely depend on R1 teams and they can only be rated on what we have seen of them so far.
Interesting the RMT board is filled with newbies, of which I was one a mere year ago. Now with a bit more TS involvement under my belt, I don't feel the need at all. I reckon its just a confidence thing...plus if you are prepared to go to Donor level you get heaps of great insights. Almost every piece of feedback I have read in RMT has been posted in TS already, so the other thing to do is to spend a lot of time reading up TS during NAB Cup time. ie you have to become TS about it ....most of us ain't here to f##k spiders. Also,(as everyone keeps pointing out) the teams will be like shifting sands for the next 11 days before final Rd 1 lockout. RMT feedback is only as good for that particular date and time. For example, if a certain L. Franklin goes down at this weeks training, most teams will need a major re-shuffle anyway as there is no easy way to replace a top ranked positional player. This post has waffled a bit but hope it makes sense for some. For all you newbies, go ahead an click on the front page Donate tab even if just to consider that as an option at some stage when you can afford it. That, and putting a bit more time in pre-season, has very much changed this little onion's opinion about RMT.

Having access to the donor forums doesn't mean I have to time to read them all I know that 2 weeks is an eternity in SC, so not really looking for comment on each rookie in each position, just looking for comment on the overall structure, especially since I've gone a bit risky in the mids Also what are peoples thoughts on Lke and Porps. I don't really like to stray too much from the GnR approach but they both look pretty tasty. Def: SCOTLAND, DELEDIO, SHAW, FISHER, LAKE, ELLIS, SMEDTS, BUGG, DARLEY Mid: ABLETT, MURPHY, SELWOOD, MILES, KERRIDGE, MCDONALD, MAGNER, PFEIFFER Ruc: COX, GILES, REDDEN, STEPHENSON Fwd: FRANKLIN, GOODES, FYFE, HARVEY, MARTIN, PORPLYZIA,D SMITH, PAINE, Aaron HAll Bank: $112k, I like to have this in case of injury disaster in the first few rounds (ie. Nroo 2010). Thanks in advance for any comments. JP
Structure is fine, jprb. I'm not as bullish about Harvey and Fisher as you are, but we all like/dislike different players.
Didn't mean to preach at ya rockbelly; just sharing my experiences. Yeah its the reading time that is hard to get for sure. Lake and Porps both looked good in NAB so tasty in my book as well. Team is pretty good IMO except for a couple of forwards. Don't think Paine has played yet and may have major JS issues. B Harvey too old and on the decline? Good luck in 2012 ! Watch for Pfieffer upgrade off rookie list...should happen.
Don't mind the structure either jprb Thinking it's going to be another one of those bloody years where 90% of the teams you play are the same
Given it is against the advice of the best rockbelly, take this view on your structure with a grain of salt. You have loaded up FWD with 5 'prems', but have only 3 in MID. This may well be based on some future trading strategy, but MID is where the points are scored. IM(humble)O, 4 + 4 would be better balance.
<blockquote>Quote from gduff1973 on March 19, 2012, 16:43 When is RMT going to be put on the front page?</blockquote> I wouldn't have thought until after the rookie-upgrades have been announced tommorrow, at the earliest.
Thanks for the tips everyone. Always nice to get a second (& third..& forth...) opinion. Obviously I'm hoping to capitalise on better $$ returns from mids rookies at the risk of losing early points. In the past I've always had a more conventional 4-4-4 as Terry suggested, but feeling a little 'special' this year Re Harvey, he is my tentative POD. Scored as well as Chappy last year and I think the Roo's are looking good this year. That said I'll probably chicken out at the last minute and switch him to Pav
Hey guys, im taking this way too seriously I think. Very close to having my side settled (after 67 goes) but im choosing between two strategies. Team 1 - Backs: Goddard; Scotland; Deledio; Shaw; Broughton; Ellis; Darley; Bugg; Spurr; Mids: Pendles; Ablett; Mitchell; Selwood; Miles; D. Smith; J. McDonald; Magner Rucks: Giles; Redden; Big O; Jenkins Forwards: Franklin; Fyfe; Chapman; Martin; Cloke; A. Kennedy; S. Kerridge; A.Hall; T. Dickson Team 2 - Backs: Goddard; Scotland; Deledio; Shaw; Hargrave (1)/Guthrie(2); Ellis; Darley; Bugg; Spurr; Mids: Pendles; Ablett; Mitchell; Selwood; Miles; D. Smith; Ledger (1)/Caddy(2); Magner Rucks: Mumford; Giles; Redden; Big O; Forwards: Franklin; Fyfe; Chapman; Martin; Porps; A. Kennedy; Cameron; A.Hall; T. Dickson Team 1 gives me 5 premiums in both attack and defence but no ruckman and no midpricers. Team 2 gives me a Premium Ruck and 2 midpricers. Also a choice out of Guthrie & Caddy or Hargrave & Ledger. Question is whether the score difference of Cloke & Broughton v Porps & Hargrave would make up for having no ruckman. I suppose barring injury it also means I burn 1 less trade to upgrade if I go with Cloke & Broughton. Thoughts?
I much prefer Team 2. The best DEF and FWD players are in my opinion not as important as the best MID and RUC players. There is a decent ppg difference between say Shaw/Martin and Cox/Mumford. When it comes to upgrades, it is going to be easier to pull the funds together to grab a FWD or DEF top scorer than a RUC or MID. On this basis, I am planning to make more upgrades in DEF and FWD than in either RUC or MID.
1st.This is my 1st time doing supercoach and this site is magnificent when it comes to inside info/help..keep it up guys 2nd. would like an opinion from you guys on my team b.SCOTLAND,BROUGHTON,GRUNDY,BURGOYNE,LAKE,DEMPSEY,ELLIS(mohr, darley) m.ABBLETT,SWAN,BOYD,GOODARD,LEDGER,MAGNER(miles, neale) r.KRUEZA,GILES(redden.stephenson) f.FRAKLIN,FYFE,PAVLICH,MARTIN,DANGERFIELD,PORPS,D.SMITH(saad,smetds what you think guys is it a good even team? am i going to pay the price in the ruck?
Read the RMT thread on the main page and think about near to copying the most popular team that's listed there. It will give you a good base team from which to plot your success this season. Good luck.
What do you think? DEFENCE GODDARD - SCOTLAND - SHAW - FISHER - ELLIS - DARLEY - MORRIS (Smedts - Golds) MIDFIELD ABLETT - PENDLEBURY - BOYD - SELWOOD,J - CLIFTON - MCDONALD - (Miles - Magner) RUCKS COX - LONGER (Redden - Giles) FORWARDS FRANKLIN - FYFE - BEAMS - MARTIN - SMITH,D - ZORKO,D - HAMPTON, C (Pfeiffer - Cameron)
Zorko's injured. Hampton won't get enough of it. Cameron will score like a KPF in a last placed side. Pfeiffer has JS question marks. Clifton not named for Saturday. Darley neither. Miles too. Smedts butchers it and I doubt Golds scoring potential. Longer is a waste of cash and I'm not sure where Beams is at. That aside, it looks alright.
