talk about leaving it to the last minute lol

Pretty happy with the forward/rucks but no so much with the mids/backs. Probaly more the back line then anything.

It kinda seems a little risky? i feel players like Lake and Dempsy have the potential to go either way. They could come good or quiet easily crash and burn. My thinking was that with the money i saved, i would be able to beef up the midfield and forward line, which have a tendency to score more SC points.

pretty much was just looking for thoughts/opinions on the matter, also on the team as a whole. This is still only my second year doing SC and i feel like i have alot to learn.

thanks for the help boys and girls!

DEF - Goddard, Deleido, Shaw, lake, dempsey, hargrave, ellis (bugg, darley)

MID - Swan, Murphy, Selwood, Watson, McDonald, Magner (Shiel, Couch)

RUCK - Mumford, Redden (Gilies, Stephenson)

FWD - Franklin, Fyfe, Martin, Zaharakis, sidebottom, porplyzia, smith (kennedy, Hall)

    @StrikeOut,

Not everyone can view your image (apart from Hornsy). If you would like your team rated, I suggest you post it in the conventional manner.

You are taking a big risk with that backline. Picking Lake, Dempsey and Hargrave are all reasonable options, but choosing all three is fraught with danger. As a rule, you probably should have no more than one playing returning from injury on each line. Then again you could be proved a genius, but like I said it is a huge risk and you could end up burning trades to cover injuries, when ideally, you want to be using most of your trades for upgrading rookies once they becoem a cash cow.

I think you need one more quality, reliable back. The problem is, you would have to lose a qulaity player from someone else to get the cash. I reckon you have two options:

Get rid of two of Lake, Dempsey, and Hargrave and bring in one Premium and Rookie back.

Or if you want to back your judgement and take a chance, keep two of Lake,Dempsey and Hargrave, downgrade one for a Premium and the other for a rookie. But you would probably need to downgrade Sidey or Zaha to get enough cash for a Premium back.

thats strange i thought everyone could see it? oh well i've edited the above post so it is in the regular format.

Also appreciate the input pollypies, i was pretty much thinking along similar lines. Part of me wants to try the risky approach and hope that it somehow pays off. The sensible part of me tells me it might be a bit of a stretch and i should probably go with a safer option.

I have toyed with all of Lake/Hargrave/Dempsey in my SC team at times in recent weeks. None of them have made it to the final week of the preseason though. As pollypies says, they are all reasonable selections, but I just don't think any of them are particularly good selections.

Those three selections are doing a lot to dictate your structure though, so changing them will be a significant shift in approach. I'll grant you that they are shaping like the three best mid-priced DEF options.

Speaking of mid-priced, you have Sidebottom and Zaharakis middling up your FWD line also. That's way too many mid-pricers overall for my liking.

Don't forget the Seaworld Jason. Porps is a mid-pricer as well. Far too many.
And Darley + McD + Couch = ouch!

I like what you did there with the formula Terry. KISS.

In case anyone was wondering about the seaworld reference, the terminology Terry uses refers to the popular combination of mid-pricers Lake and Porplyzia (aka porpoise) in the same team. As you were.
