Well my season is off to the worst possible start. Thanks to McDonalds hit, not only do i lose him for 2 weeks but Luke Parker is now sidelined with fractured jaw for 2-3 weeks... Seriously this game sucks sometimes..

Don't worry SKT - you never come good until mid year when your team of POD's hits its straps.

I am assuming that you have picked your usual team of POD's, right?

Swans physiotherapist Matt Cameron told SwansTV that fortunately Parker’s injury won’t require surgery and with a bye this week he may only miss one match.

May not be that bad after all. I wouldn't rush any changes just yet!

McDonald still scored well and will be a good cash cow if those scores keep up!

SKT last year I lost Brown and LeCras in the first round and then traded in JRoo who proceeded to knock himself out and the other one was Sylvia.........

I hope your next games go better.

@ MartyG, That is correct. If he's the last mid to be traded during the bye rounds then he'll have made some decent cash for everyone. Sadly I didn't have him!

    That's gotta hurt :(
I can imagine how you must feel after all the study, for it to start like that,
hoping Parker's good for round 3 & that McDonald keeps scoring well for you on his return.

I'm wondering now whether to trade Parker for McDonald as the consolation boobie prize or bring in Shiel, (who I selected on my bench instead of JMac who I don't have), as the temporary cover for Parker and keep the trade. Probably hang onto Parker and watch each of their next games.
    mmmm thoughts anyone.

    Edited for clarity I hope.

I'm in the same situation, not a very good start to the season. Just a little concerned one of my other rookies will be vested or rested in the next week or two, I'm not looking forward to prospect of no bench cover in the mids for a week or two. Even less happy at the thought of suffering the same fate as PieRaider last year if I do trade.

    @Crew - Very big pineapple :(

Only consolation is its happened before full lockout so can restructure the side a little and bring one my F/M into midfield and upgrade on forward rookies to another premium. Well maybe not that easily, gotta downgrade Lake to rookie and then find someone for $425K. Thats simple solution without totally destroying my side.

Does anyone know if historically the Swans talk up or down injuries, ie does Parker's 2 to 3 weeks really mean 6 weeks, or really just 1 week and a bit of poetic licence for the benefit of the MRP in case JMac should try to appeal? (Remember Sandi last year)

SKT it's a thing of beauty when you avoid car crashes like that.

It happens to all of us, but the fact of the matter is, at least this week you can do something about it to restructure due to the lockout.

I'm sure incidents like this will happen during the season to others, who will have to burn trades or munch donuts to deal with it.

Parker and the bye week off could not be timed better for his type of injury. Silver lining.

I can say that I had mumford as captain and traded in the last little frenzy to try out my 0 0 4 ruck strategy with the option of bringing in a premium this week if my nerve doesn't hold - probably the only opening round bullet I've dodged in the last four years,

i'm feeling for you st thunder
