Not sure that All Too Hard will back up next week - be careful.

Bear, went for EPAULETTE rather than Ashokan, his form just looks stronger. Sorry if I gave you a bum steer mate. Will take a third Slipper horse and Americain next week.

Also took Silent Achiever - her form and style of racing should translate well to Rosehill and Randwick

not sure about silent achiever, he might not run her in the derby and go for the oaks (especially if mosheen rests after the studs race on slipper). really need a derby horse as its 900k winner race and bringing in haylist for the TJ smith (600k winner) leave only one trade left for that week and I want two derby runners. Laser is too exp so bringing in Said Com and then will bring in another horse in a fortnight. also taking a roll of the dice with All Too Hard :)

damn it said com! haha laser hawk too exp :( or I would have got him :( oh well! Next week it's pretty much make or break with the slipper/BMW. Thinking I might need to bring in someone besides pierro as everyone has him??? thinking maybe no looking back? depends if I want to roll the dice now or later (doncaster/derby) hmmm thoughts?

There is no doubt in my mind that Dunn pulled up very early on All Too Hard. If that's not an instruction to look after the horse for next week then I'll go he.
Tinkler owned stallion prospect (half brother to Black Caviar) and Tinkler owned sire in Casino Prince - will go to the GS. That race is worth $10's of millions to him.
Got lucky today with Laser Hawk which was nothing more than an educated guess. He had the run of the race, got thru on the inside and just held on. Obviously I'll keep him for the Derby but there's no confidence that he'll win it.
Hope you all went well and looking forward to the results.

As I mentioned, my trade ins were All Too Hard & Silent Achiever - 1st & 3rd not the worst result, just let down by hoop selection again - ended up going with Hugh because I had a rather busy morning and couldn't get online before lockout - a win, a 2nd & 2 3rds could've easily been 2 or 3 wins - that's racing for ya!!!

Even though I traded Silent Achiever in this week, I ended up having a very successful day with a big win on Lazer Hawk ($50 EW) after getting the word from my tout - added to this were a couple of good quality EW specials who placed (Star of Octagonal & Next The Universe), it ended up being a profitable day on the punt - especially when taking into account the Bombers win bringing a few multi's home for me to the tune of a $390+ profit!!!

Just need my other few multi's to get up tomorrow and I'll be well funded for my trip to Melbourne in a few weeks time :)

Slipper choice, opinions please: No Looking Back or Pierro? Same price however Pierro is slighty more favoutire in betting and has the more recent run (winner in the slipper trial). No looking back 2nd to Samaready in the Blue Diamond and hasn't run since. Thinking of Pierro but I think 50% of people have him (if not more) where as I doubt many people have No Looking Back. Roll the dice or wait to pick an outsider later on in the Derby or Doncaster?

Great prediction of mine on All Too Hard. Ah well, at least he's there for the week after.
Not sure at all what to do this week.
Will start making decisions on Thursday me thinks.

Wow, this is harder than Supercoach.
I think Americain has to come in but this will drain my cash and cost me Laser Hawk, Raceway or Sth'n Speed. Laser Hawk would probably go and could come back next week.
My theory has been to concentrate mostly on the week at hand.
After that a $25K swap from a dud to Ashokan might be prudent.???????????
Pierro is too expensive whichever way I look.
    Dunno, thoughts appreciated.

haha southern speed is a good dark horse (given he can reproduce his stunning caulfield cup run) also driefontein too. Seems like you're rolling the dice mate! :p Goodluck! I will go with Pierro and Amercain given I think Pierro is the best Gai Waterhorse one (driefontien been AFK and only beat No looking back on protest and no looking back got blown away in the blue diamond thou could turn it around?). Amercain cause his a top horse and was running on in the Australia Cup. Goodluck to all and can't wait to see the big races on Tv!

thinking of bringing in Pierro (already have Samaready and Epaulette) in the Slipper. That is a hard trade as need to get rid of Streama to fund. Have Mosheen in that race. Mmmm, not sure.

Bringing in Americain so will have the two favourites in the BMW.

@ whips - it is a good game indeed. Who would have thought 10 horses could be so troublesome.

Tossed Laser Hawk for Americain and a dud for the affordable Epaulette. Gives me the top 3 faves in the BMW and 1st, 4th and 6th fave for the GS.
I'll need luck today cos now have nothing prepared for the Derby and TJ Smith next week nor Doncaster the week after.
Good luck to all. Should be a great day's racing.
(So sad to see Pinker Pinker still listed and scratched. She's owned by a teacher of both my sons and her family who are great people. Sure, they had a terrific run but didn't deserve that.)

not such a good week for the league - well down from early triumphs.

A lead change this week with ChilliRed and celery holding the winners of the two big dollar value races - well done.

Come on guys we need to regain form. My old favourites Lazer Hawk and Silent Achiever for the Derby and perhaps Rain Affair if it is dampish in the TJ Smith. These are the two high value races.

Jockey choice is worth considering, so lets have some ideas on Friday evening in the live chat during the minor event that is the Carlton v. Collingwood indicator of minor places in the eight.

    @ chels
Not just you & ChilliRed holding the big race winners mate, my fiancee also had them to once again walk all over me!!!

The only saving grace for me was having the BMW trifecta times 5 :)

apologies Bear, your fiancee is obviously a very clever person! There are apparently places where you have to pay to be walked all over - perhaps others could explain this to us!

I owe you a lobster pie or two mate

Well, ended up bringing in Laser Hawk & Foxwedge this week & stuck with Nash as my hoop - unfortunately it still only gives me 5 runners representing my stable, might have to settle for a good day on the punt instead, especially considering my fiancee made her trades after me bringing in the same 2 & also going with Nash - (obviously she didn't want me copying her), now she has 8 runners going around!!!

I've gone the Silent Achiever and Foxwedge. Corey as hoop.
As I mentioned above somewhere, I don't reckon Laser is good enough to win from out there. Just won last start with the run of the race.

BTW, and totally off topic, I followed the TS chat for the Carl v Coll game tonight. First time I've followed the chat.
WTF goes on in there? It's a bag-fest with almost nothing constructive.

But nice to see Bear and chels remain totally constructive.
