and TN, Carlton often uses Robinson to shut down running half backs rather than Carrazzo.

I don't think Malceski will give you particularly better SC consistency than Broughton.

Broughton's a keeper. Ballantyne is gone from the midfield rotation for the next couple of weeks which should hopefully see Broughton out of the shutdown/tagging role.

Locky, if you are going to burn 2 trades, you would want a better return for it than potentially extra 20-30 points between Lewis and Fyfe. I can't see Malceski's average being better than Broughton's, so not a trade I would do.

Keep Broughton, FWIW.

Like many, when I saw Broughton named in the midfield I took the bait and ended up on the dinner table.
I wish to keep 2 trades for possible round 3 rookie correction, Shiel > Smith and Hampton > Milera, Morris > Mohr, or any other shining light that pops up, so Broughton would have to be looked at this round.

Can see 3 possibilities:-

1/ Broughton > Dempsey....Morris > Hargrave. Completes backline not premium but nearly back where I started.

2/ Broughton > Mohr....Orren S. > Kreuzer. Capitalises on a good looking Kreuzer (R2) and allows both Giles and Redden to be cashed in ASAP as their looking like mooing quickly unlike poor Orren.

3/ Suck it up, save the trades, and do nothing. All will be well just a statistical anomaly.(Which maybe just seeking validation of a previous bad decision, the old fool me once etc).

Appreciate thoughts from the experienced mentors.

@ supercoach junkie

I have broughton and am going to give him time to show why we picked him. Pull the trigger and trading him after 1 game is a bit rough. Not many prem defenders scored that well in round 1 anyway. Remember based off last years result to be a prem back you only need to avg 90 as the depth isn't very good. Hope that helps as for shiel I wouldn't be getting rid of him the guy wasn't 100% fit, he has a body ready made for footy.
I think you should not use trades hold off as much as possible.
What really interests me about round 1 is not a lot of people seemed to use the emerg loop hole.
I put a dud on the ground to get bugg's score and put kerridge on the ground to get McDonald's score. Kerridge also to use the mid forward link. And as a didn't have Kennedy gws put Paine in the forward line so can trade out dud in the backline for Kennedy in the forward and Paine takes duds spot in backline. Sorry little off topic.

Luckily, I left broughton out early.
A nice reduced price pickup for round 6 perhaps.

Junkie, option 3 for me, but if you want to trade, I don't mind option 2

Thanks for input. Wow thats some cool tactical planning going on. That gives me an idea of possibly how to shift Morris and bring Milera or Dickson into the front line. Thanks.
I can start to feel some more paralysis by analysis coming on!! Round 1 lockout was supposed to make the headaches go away.

PS Thanks TN

Broughton should be given a chance, was playing quite well in first quarter before moving onto stevie j.
At the moment lake provides a greater headache, but he might just get the vest from me this week... Let's say he is on notice, potentially a corrective trade required, but hopefully not!
I think that we should remember that donut minimization through the byes this year will use up to 9 trades, in a prime upgrade period.. So 1 bad week should be put in context, hold fire on trades and judgement!

I scored reasonably well for round 1,
2318,
although I'm not really as into it as you guys, so am being guided by an obsessive friend.

I think Lakes score may have just been a result of West Coast. Their forwards just dominated from start to finish and bulldogs were under that much pressure they couldn't get there hands on the ball.

Can't wait for team selections this week. Love that footy is back!

Ok so I made a little chart of all the defenders around the $510,000 mark and below that could be traded for Broughton. It may help some of you, hope it helps

RUCKS: Kreuzer, Giles, Redden, Stephenson

Personally think you jumped the gun on both trades wheelza especially on Mumford. The beauty of the first two weeks is that prices won't change, so unless you may have more than 2 crucial fix it trades you should really give your players a 2 week trial period.

One game is generally not a reflection of how well a player is going play week in week out.

Hopefully your trades work out for you though.

Yes I think of TS as an obsessive friend too. An obsessive, freakish, beautiful friend.

Nice score, Carly!
