The little champ deserves his own thread where men who aspire to be him can talk to other men who aren't him about the best things about him. Got it? Good.
    To open proceedings:
The champ wins a free kick in the pocket. To his horror, Josh Fraser is about to play on. Gaz throws up his hands and shouts, imploring (correctly) Fraser to stop.
Later, Brennan wins a free on the wing, he turns to pick up the ball, only to see a red blur as the champ decides (correctly) that things will work out better in his hands.

Hard to imagine someone that good isn't the best player in his own family! IMO

I agree with Oodles. GAJ is awesome but I once went to Moorabbin to watch GAS against the Saints and also watched every Geelong game of the '89 finals series - just for GAS.
And while every Pie supporter bagged the decision to pay that mark over Pert, I stood and applauded.
GAJ hasn't got me travelling yet but f*** he's good.
Midge, I'm more than happy to join the GAJ Appreciation Society but don't ask for a membership fee.

    @oodles.

That comment always makes me smile and think of poor old Mark Waugh.
hope you caught my reply re: scotland; definite keeper.

I agree with you on GAS. Will never forget the salmon v ablett shootout that day.
But seriously, who can't imagine GAJ playing in a forward pocket when he's 40, and taking home the coleman to go with his 4 brownlows. Time will tell but I'd say in a few years time we will both have changed our opinions.

Its just a pity he never gets to win a game.

another magnificent performance by the bald beauty. Whatever GCS are paying him is not enough - single handed he has given them a fan base and credibility. And to think I doubted his ability to influence a game when he left the cats!

Happy to join the appreciation society. BTW, Ratmata I think you will find he did win a few games at Geelong

There is only one perma captain & his name is Gary Ablett. Everyone else are pretenders.

Watched him live last night and he was fantastic..just works so hard. Basically ran himself into the ground and for the last fifteen minutes didnt move far away from the interchange area. Was going back and forward, looked to be cramping a bit, maybe groins. Meanwhile still accumulating possessions.

Bombers were asleep from Quarter time until late in the game and were lucky to get away with a much required win. Gold coast effort was great and certainly what people are expecting from them.

    Perma Captain indeed!

Geez he was great on the weekend. Utter star and just wonderful to watch.

As a tribute I'll be making him captain every week from here on in, and even when he has the bye he'll stay captain (vice will score double) just out of respect for him.

Pretty hard to get in the ORFFL Jason if you have pick 18 :p

I have Jnr shading Snr on consistency and his ability to lead a team as we are seeing at GC. His ability to do well when the team is down or losing is one thing that sets him apart.

Stowie - as a fellow gamer, I'd like to see the X360 version.

I reckon the red button would be "Make Gary Ablett sprint" and there will be another button with the instruction "Slow down time to allow Gary Ablett to get ball"

As long as the "propose to ablett" button remains, I'm happy haha.
