Thanks for that news Huss
If GAJ does return, any chance he will be eased into games, getting 100-120s rather than the 140s. The $ would drop off very quickly if this is the case.

I think what abletts shown over the journey is that he tends to recover from injuries pretty quickly. Is this a similar injury to what he got last year against sydney? speculation was that he'd miss about 3 weeks then but played the following week, doesnt sound like that will happen this time but i'll be putting him on the bench just too many injuries going on to trade will be out of them in no time if get rid of everyone thats out for a couple of weeks. For those still in the running for overall it will be a harder decision, ive pretty much put the cue in the rack there thanks mainly to mumford and dempsey

I can't see GC not trying to get him back into their side as quickly as humanly possibly, afterall without him they've got practically nobody.

@Lucas

definitely something to consider... although we are talking about the little master and SC perma captain (for most). Plus he is on a team that desperately needs him with few stealing his points. When he comes back the knee will initially pull up very very stiff after prolonged exercise which may effect his preparation mid week and possibly his fitness to run out the games. I think i have talked myself into the fact that his production may indeed suffer...

Given the fact that I traded in Carazzo, I need to try something different.

At this stage my plan of attack will be:

Carazzo > Scotland

Ledger > Trealor;
Ablett to mid bench, Trealor on;
Trealor into fwd line, Goodes into midfield

Thoughts?

4 weeks is long enough to justify trading him out imo

@ Obleex - Thumbs up and no need to swap Goodes and Treloar around.

@ Angry Ant - Agree

@ Limo (oops that's me - read note to self) Trade Ablett for Old Mac that makes around 80k after Old MAc's 3 week jump. Wait a week (round five) to see if Pendles plays or doesn't and how his price changes then, in with Pendles for Round six at around 600k.

That means maybe worst case is lose 60 points and gain $ 120-130k.

Trade Ablett back in as first cash cow target once he resumes. Gold and all done with only three trades.

Well it does have a small trade useage downside.

In this sort of case it's almost impossible to make an informed decision and it becomes little more than a guess.
Despite thinking that Sydney may have been foxing with Parker's injury, I traded him out and now that has come back to haunt me.
At the other extreme we had Sandiland's last year who was going to be back playing "the next week", but never did.
For some reasons clubs and players always seem somewhat "economical" with the truth when it comes to injuries and I guess to some extent they don't really know themselves (hello Fyfe???).

I read above husslar's interesting coments on his injury(and the 6 weeks), but is Ablett's the same?
Maybe at this point some could argue the case that its a good excuse to bring in a mid POD for Ablett and separate from the crowd if facing a do or die race to the finish.

Like Parker, my gut feeling tells me Ablett will be back sooner rather than later. This time I will trust my gut, and as I'm only a league player, Ablett can sit on my bench for a week or two at least holding his value(aka Fyfe) until the fog thins out to a mist.
I can feel the smirks on the faces of those who started without Ablett, Pendles, Franklin, Fyfe and Mummy :).
Hows it go, risk it for the biscuit!!!!

Meh, after the weekends disaster overall is all over for me. Went from 2700 to 16000, its all about leagues now so the little master will be warming the pine for a few weeks

Hey guys just thinking and something to keep in mind. Gold Coast have the bye Round 13 so he is potentially missing 4 of next 9 weeks!

If I traded the little master for Old McDonald, I could upgrade all 3 of my midpricers into premiums and Hale into Cox!

But instead he's going to sit on the pine and I'm going to believe in his twitter posts and hope that the fact he will likely return against either GWS (round 7), Doggies (8), or Port (9), which should allow him to quickly recapture his form :)

I'm wondering if i trade him out and he returns in 2 or 3 weeks, how good is he going to be ?
When he returns and will his price drop or just put in some lower scores?
Chances are i'll keep him because i've burned too many trades already, but it makes you think of possibilities...
Is McDonld the best cow? Treloar already has 2 games?

These last two rounds have been one of the most fantasy brutal of recent memory. Sure there are always injuries but not to so many fantasy relevant players in such a small time frame!

This dilemma could almost make or break seasons, especially at the top. Most would like to go to Pendles or Swan with a Wednesday game put even more spanners in the works.

But even if GAJ comes back in 4 we've seen him smash 150s straight after injuries can't say I'd be surprised to see it again. Add to all this the cows this year seem a bit weaker than last. Upgrading may take longer and 'bringing Gaz back in' may be a lot easier said than done.

I don't have Marc Murphy in my team, so I'm thinking of trading Ablett out for him. It would earn me close to $100k on top of the $100k I already have in the bank. By the time the bye has come and gone, I'll be looking to trading up one of my cash cows straight into Gazza. It hurts to use trades again, after having used 4 trades already in the last 2 weeks, but I think it's the best move for me right now.

Need advice on who to bring into my mids, am holding Ablett at the present time and i have the cash to bring in any mid i want regardless of whether i trade Ablett out or not. Current mids are Pendles,Swan,Selwood and Ablett. Who should be next in line? Was thinking Murphy but Stanton is very tempting and at a lesser price giving me extra cash allowing me to bring Ablett back in quicker if i do decide to trade him out. Or is there maybe another candidate i may have missed?

i think murphy has to be the only option for a sideways trade at this point. He looks even better than he did last year and if you dont have pendles or swan they will probably drop more in price over then next 1-2 weeks making them perfect for a 1st upgrade target
