BREAKING NEWS: SEN reporting Nathan Fyfe has left training clutching his shoulder!! Will try find more info
http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7009/newsid/134642/default.aspx Fremantle midfielder Nat Fyfe is to undergo surgery on his left shoulder. The 20-year-old dislocated his shoulder today at training ahead of the club’s round six clash with Gold Coast on Saturday. Fyfe was a late withdrawal from the game against St Kilda in round four but returned to play against Carlton last Friday night at Patersons Stadium following specialist medical advice. Senior coach Ross Lyon has previously said that if Fyfe aggravated the injury again, the club would have no hesitation in sending him for surgery. General manager of football operations Chris Bond said today that the operation would be carried out by the Melbourne specialist Fyfe consulted last month. “We believe that the appropriate course of action for Nat’s long-term playing future and his general well being is to have the operation at this time,” Bond said. “Based on the advice of our medical team, we envisage that Nat will require a recovery and rehabilitation period of about 12 weeks, which would make him available for selection in the latter part of the season.”

FARRRRKKKKKKKKKK is all i can say. What a disaster! Now trying to see the positive side - it gives me a way to cover my probable Sandi ruck donut this week. Trade of Redden to Pattison opening up ruck/for link, and then fyfe to roughhead. Thoughts?

Thoughts?
Like Roughead but Redden should be back this week. Guess we'll find out Thursday or more likely 6.30 pm Friday.

Quote from OziBatla on May 1, 2012, 18:49 Bugger... Looks like Fyfe - - > Side or Danger?
Danger has a shocking draw up until the bye - the SC finals for him look good though.

Quote from chris88 on May 1, 2012, 14:11 I hope they do send him away for the season. Stuff SC to be honest, I'd rather see a good young player treated properly, get the operation he needs and come back fit and firing again. Fyfe's a great young player, great to watch. Gotta look after him.
+ 1
Pav has gone under the radar.... Could get more midfield time with Fyfe going down. Yet to crack the ton but that will change this week against GC! Nearly 100k cheaper than last year.
Wow what a year. Carnage is de rigueur at the moment. Held Fyfe to save the trade. Now with no choice going to shift him to Mids to get Pendlebury. Not sure what else could go wrong. Good Luck to all with the Fyfe dilemna.
Ha, crazy for trading him they said. He's fine and playing this week, they said. Look at his score it's all good, they said. Glad I went with my gut on this one
Was always a 50/50 call regarding keeping Fyfe or not... I say most that were going for overall would have moved him on and those of us who were going for a league win kept him!

Traded him out so I'm content my instincts told me the right thing. However I was hoping he'd be in and out for weeks on end meaning people will keep him. Now he's gone for ages most will jump to Sidebottom who after the Ball injury should finish top 10 forwards. I was hoping not too many would have him but now it'll be everyone! Feel for Fyfe though.
Well, at least he's done his holders the courtesy of doing it in training rather than at the 5 minute mark of the first quarter. I avoided him all last year because of his dodgy shoulder, and got torched by his tons week after week. This year, he was in from the start and BOOM!...gone by rd6. Grrrr...
Are there any views on Cloke vs Sidebottom vs Beams as a replacement for Fyfe from the Collingwood supporters?
