Can any Saints supporters please let me know what the hell is going on with Sam Fisher's hammy.
I've been hanging on to him for a month now, expecting him to play each week. But again, not selected. I'm running into problems now because Heath Shaw wasn't named either. Will he come back via the twos? Very tempted to sideways to Lake.

Thanks St K Thunder. Do you think he'll come back via the twos?

I have considered bringing him in this week too and I have similar questions to you. Great thread. Hopefully someone can shed some light.

SA's Sammy won't be considered by me until at least Rd 15 or 16. He has the Rd 13 bye, and then a break even of 131 in Rd 14 vs the Kangaroos. A consistent SC performer over many years, and a tasty late season upgrade option if he can put a coupla games together.

Sorry, my comment read wrong... I have considered bringing him in this week. Not doing the trade this week, just been considering it this week.

Mainly just wondering if he has a different role this year with the different coach. Last season, he was easily one of the best defenders. Made a truckload of TOTRs last season. What has been happening with him this season? Is it just the injury? Or a change of role/gameplan that is affecting him?

Did a hamstring and then had setback. His role changed a bit early due due to no real key defender and having to help Simpkin/Dempster out bit. The return of James Gwilt will free Fisher up dramatically and he should go back to free man. Dempster has kinda been playing Fisher role aswell.

He actually played a great game, but was playing a tagging negative role.
Awesome for St Kilda, terrible for Fantasy Football..

Who was he playing on? Can you see this being a consistent role for him week in week out from now on?

He played a shut down role on Jono Brown, sacrificed his own game for the team. I mentioned it in the Round 16 Underway thread on main page that this will most likely become a regular occurance. Sean Dempster has already been playing his role this year and is now our key play maker out of the backline. Id be trading Fisher if i had him. Also wouldnt get sucked into his cheap price either

Brown, pretty much kept him out of the game altogether.
And not sure, I don't think the saints game plan is that settled, it probably depends on the opposing forwards..
But given he is doing it very well, I wouldn't bank on him churning out consecutive tons any time soon

So time to trade out Fisher? Will he be tagging the rest of the season?

I've got Fisher and Broughton...looking to upgrade them to H.Shaw and Scotland.

    Thoughts?

    Good tip.

But if I had to downgrade one of Broughton/Fisher for cash to get Ablett this week

who to keep and who to drop?

Fisher will drop in price another 20-30k, and no idea how Broughton will be out.

Anyone got news on Broughton's injury?

Wouldnt be waiting til after this week, id be making the move before. Got no doubt in my mind he will be tagging/stopping the big forwards a few more times this year.
