Our prayers have been answered. Finally a decent mid rookie is on the horizon, and with a few cows finally reaching their peak, he should be a perfect downgrade option in the next couple of weeks.

YEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I know sideways trades are not accepted; especially rookies but I have been waiting for Gibson or Mitchell from the Swans so can get rid of bloody Tom Ledger! Hasn't really affected my scores but it's great to see Gibson get a shot at the big time.

Good news everybody, downgrade targets hard to come by this year.

On a related note, any love for Aaron Black from North? He is on the bubble this week, BE of -19, but no idea about his JS. Any north fans got the inside word?

Mature age...ticks all the boxes. Very nice. (Gibson, not Black).

Less likely to be vested than a young rookie I reckon, he has been described by Scott as an endurance athlete so they may give him a chance to show that from the get go. Looking at the line ups likely to be Black, Harper or Barlow...I mean Gibson. Gotta hope dont ya?

Or Scott will use him as an impact sub?

I didnt watch the whole game, but he looked good to me. he fit in well. moved well. seemed to have good skills.
    was playing against GC though.

Still looks to be a great option.

I traded in Black this week - but I hadnt seen him discussed anywhere, and just realised he got a mention in this here thread.
I had to make a quick decision when Saad was a late withdrawal friday night. Looked up black in the prospectus and was impressed enough to bring him in. particularly happy hes already had a full year in the system before now.
Now, Im happy to hear he's "cool" too, GaryReal :D

At this stage as long as he's getting a game he's a good option!

I'm not sold on Gibson. Saw the GC game, despite nodding off.

as for the gibbon, he reminded me of what i saw in preseason:
he's an average player who will have some very bad games
and a couple ok ones. (IMO)

Best downgrades are players not getting games :p
    *cough* Mitchell + Couch *cough*

Happened with Callinan last year, he never broke the bubble

jibba, the reason callinan didn't get a game was because he tore his hammy off the bone - debuted mid-season, injured himself in the second game then didn't play again till round 24.

But agree with the rest of what you wrote.

actually, I stand corrected - Callinan tore his bicep off the bone in a practice match against carlton at the start of last season, hence the interrupted start, then did his hammy in his second game (rd 15?). But that was only a 2-3 week injury, so buggered if I know why he didn't play between say rds 18-23 last year.

    My bad :)
