Mawson 5/445 v Whits 3/195 currently. There seems to be a an echo in here though.

Would you like me to remove the extra post or was it intentional?

Of course there is an echo. We are internetz impaired at the moment.

But enough of that. The Warriors are going deep into the mid-season draft to see what we can pluck from some of the overlooked gems.

With our first pick we have snapped up Matthew Broadbent. We tossed over another very good MID choice in the hope that he slips through, but not much chance of that because we need a ruckman and the two on offer have already been snapped up. Some greedy buggers opting for a third ruck. Can you imagine that? Both of these mid choices we expect will drop off a bit as the season gets longer, but right now we need something for the undecided and injured Boak and the underperforming Juddie.

So Matt, welcome to the tropics. We have included before and after pics so you can see what the hard life at Alberton does to people.

TiB - any chance of a trade for Rebecca without Juddy or Oscar attached?

We have some very fine pinot noir plantings in and around Martinborough and some older carefully cellared early vintages (both cork and screw cap) as consideration.

So chasing Chelsea was just smoke and mirrors for the real thing?

It's all smoke and mirrors TiB! But you know that. Hallucinatory drugs (including alcohol) have the capacity to make older men feel capable of younger men's performance. Bear that in mind as you age, if you have not already discovered this strange outcome.

Plenty of Psilocybin growing in NZ I'm told, chels. Should the need arise to turn back the clock....

At least 5 species of native Psilocybe there, plus a couple of imports. Really, psilocybin or C12H17N2O4P is the active nasty, and is found in many members of the Basidiomycota family.

Never eat ANY wild fungus in Australia unless you are absolutely dead set 100% sure you know what it is, as we have more than our fair share of lethal ones.

TiB - still a decent ruckman or two on offer. Hope you snaffle one of them.

Best of luck in the wilds of the mid-season draft.

Magic mushrooms .... I'm just annoyed that the prized Lophophora I had nurtured for years amongst my cacti garden died recently.

Had it for years and its almost impossible to get now due to the plant's ... er ... medicinal qualities.

You people keep me in the dark and feed me bullshit all day long. No wonder I feel like a mushroom.

I have no desire to seek a second childhood chels and am comfortable with age. I tried mushies on toast whilst in PNG. No effect, so had some more, about 4 slices I think (done in a nice cream and butter sauce). We then went off to the movies. Can't remember the name of the film, but it was set in pre-war industrial Germany and there was this constant thump and hammering of the steel presses. Suddenly discovered I could not handle that, so took my leave, fell down the steps and woke up to discover I had peed my pants. Crawled outside on all fours, up the footpath, found the car and crawled under it and blacked out again. When the film finished and my friends arrived I could hear them discussing where was Terry. Here I am, here I am, afraid they could not hear me. When we got home I sat under a tree and stayed awake until dawn, too afraid to sleep.

Oddly enough, I cook up a feed of mushrooms every week, sometimes twice, as I consider them good for you. I have been encouraged in this by some world experts on Basidiomycetes that I work with. However, the magic variety I now pass.

And thank you again chels, but for me Steve McQueen is synonymous with nothing other than a Shelby GT Mustang, preferably British racing green.

There are frequent deaths from eating wild mushrooms in Australia, reported in the local press here. Seems it is very similar to an edible wild mushroom in China and it is mostly people of Chinese descent who have died, having survived the car park at Crown. One recent one was a chef.

And the Warriors are pleased to welcome Robbie Warnock who will hold up our ruck division until Lobbe becomes a star. We don't have a pic of Robbie because, well, we don't want to frighten small children.

Odd. It says Port Ade. for me. Shifting allegiances perhaps, like the desert sands.
"Guest" btw was a result of giving Johnny Cache the boot.
