Its just been reported that collingwood has suspended dane swan for 2 weeks for being out late drinking on sunday night. Timing couldnt be any worse to start the SC finals. The question now is what to do with him?
Dammit I have to trade him straight out, I'm in two elimination finals, no point holding him. I've got Watson, Selwood, Pendles, Murphy and Ablett already. I'm leaning towards Beams over Kennedy at this stage
I've actually got reasonable cover if Franklin comes back I can put Martin/Zorko/Treloar for him or should I trade him, I have 3 trades left

I wanted to trade out James Frawley this week(don't even know why I have him) but looks like I will have to hold him and trade out Swan. My team is as follows. 2 trades left $6 000 DEF: H.Shaw, Deledio, Goddard, Birchall, Carazzo, Yarran, Frawley(Darley, Paine) MID: Ablett, Swan, Watson, JPK, Cotchin, Swallow (Gibson, Couch) RUC: IVAN, Nic Nat(Witts, Campbell) FWD: Buddy, Beams, Danger, Zorko, Martin, Tex, JRoo (Smedts, Patton) Any help for what to do about Swanny would be appreciated. Do I leave him and trade Frawley or trade Swanny(and for who).

Seems like an obvious replacement for Swan to me. If you don't want another Collingwood player, Marc Murphy not too shabby as an alternate option.
I'm in the same boat as you Tigersfor2013 - top 4 in all my leagues and 2 trades left. Coz I've got double chance I'll try and get through with Gibson or Treloar as cover (they've been going OK) and if I can then I'll have a week off for Swan's second week of suspension (2 of my 4 opponents also have him anyway). If I lose my important leagues and it comes down to sudden death I'll look at trading him then.
He had a drink 6 days before the match? so I take it he had a drink just after the previous match, suspended 2 weeks for that? seems a bit harsh, he didn't make a dick of himself, only offense was being a bit seedy at training monday morning. We can only wonder who the pie was that had a whinge? Anyway... Swan was to be my final upgrade, now I can enjoy 4 of the top 8 in my league tearing their hair out -)
He broke team rules. It doesn't matter what the rules are. For me it is perfect timing. I was going to bring him in for the finals, but will just do a simply undo and bring in Jobe instead. Easy fix!

So they were not happy with his condition at training and he denies taking alcohol. He only drank water according to swan. (From the AFL website). Are they wanting us to read between the lines an infer that the man was on the gear???
