Ant, you need to enter a team bud, MB management will not tolerate attempts to deny us the opportunity to tank for draft picks..

Quote from Lenh191 on August 24, 2012, 16:08 Ant, you need to enter a team bud, MB management will not tolerate attempts to deny us the opportunity to tank for draft picks..
Hey, I've got my team in with 2 hours to spare...
My teams have been making it in lately yeah? I haven't been paying attention properly. I know, 2 weeks ago, I was really late putting my team in, but I saw that Bama counted score still. Lost anyway, so didn't matter much...
It has been the subject of intense research from the AFL for several years now and they have concluded teams like Collingwood and North Melbourne travelling in a time machine to Perth generally lose. And quite often lose the next week if they play elsewhere. Perhaps its something in the water. Or the sand. John Worsfold knows, but he's not telling.
Gee, I just read through my whole thread being all nostalgic. Am feeling a bit emotional about quiting as coach/gm/selector etc of this team. It's been a really fun season. Next week, I'll make time to update all the match reports I missed and announce the innaugrual B&F
simple - don't quit Your views on the BL issue are fine with me and I am sure he appreciates your support, I just dont agree with them No need to leave mate, stay around I for one appreciate you being part of the league.
Thanks guys... To update my own thread:
Quote from anthak on September 20, 2012, 20:45 Sorry for the delay, and for the dramas, but I can't pull out !! This league is too much fun. I won't have enough time to be as involved as I (and maybe others) would like me to be, but I will keep managing my team. As long as the commish let's me rescind my resignation. So I'll leave it with TiB to make the call on whether to let me continue or not I wish I had more time to write right now, but I don't so that's the basics of where my head is at Cheers
Now, just waiting on the ruling of the commish...

Nice ant. Just to advise that the Cockatoos are a finalist in the Bulls Hotel Overestimation award. This award goes to the team who failed to empty the highest proportion of the bottles of pinot noir they purchased, opened, but did not consume during their visit. And yes, Matt Thomas was your star individual offender. However, it is a team award. Your score of 12 from 72 is in contention, however as, for quality control reasons, the judges consumed some of the content we having difficulty establishing an exact figure.
Yes, well, overestimating is one thing I've done really well with this team; it has set the foundation for it's whole existence actually unfortunately the ramifications have been significant
Need to understand the logistical issues with the Pit Ant, and I will get them fixed in time for next years round. Also working on a few more car parks for visiting teams... expecting you to park the Bus in a smart car sized park was not a good look
this trade has passed the 48 hour veto period with flying colors, and is now official:
Quote from anthak on September 25, 2012, 19:53 Larikan Lagoon Lefties at it again. This is a done deal: Christensen, Cooney, #20 and #26 to Gariwerd for Priddis, Monfries, #27 and #45 who join the LLL red shirts

TRADE NEWS: Gus Monfries never really settled at the club after the laser incident down the pit at Charlies Opening and we have had to let him go. Well, we are not sure if it was the incident itself or the specialised 1on1 training we organised for him with Christiano Ronaldo afterwards, but Gus was never the same after that whole ordeal. Though the bigger news of the recent trade period is the departure of our B&F runnerup Matt Priddis who also won two other awards for his season including the widely renowned Byron Pickett Shirt - which it should be noted that Matt wore during his final moments in Gariwerd as he and Gus boarded the helicopter that was to take them to Larikan Lagoon. I'm sure he would have cast an imposing figure when meeting his new teammates in such a shirt. So, we sincerely thank the two departing players and wish them all the best at their new stomping ground; however we do have two new additions to welcome to the fold as well... Allen Christensen is a fine young man with a huge future in the game and we are rapt to be able to have him play for the Cockatoos. Adam Cooney is a former AFL Brownlow medalist who has struggled to live up to the hype that accomplishment brought with it, although we believe we have the right game plan and internal culture to get the best out of him once again and look forward to seeing him in Gariwerd colors
