I think it's time to bring it in. For too long the power relationship in the ORFFL has been weighted so heavily in favour of the coaches and clubs that it would seem that the players - the players we come to watch - are merely names and numbers, to be traded like a commodity. They have feelings too. They have wants and needs, paramount amongst them is the need to be heard, and what they're saying is they want a fairer playing field. Is it right that Paul Chapman will never get to taste ORFFL Premiership glory? Is it right that Houli and Rance are being held against their will at Mallacoota, when they desperately want to be with their Merton brethren? That Shane Savage does not wind up at his spiritual home of Sarah Island? Look into your hearts people. Do the right thing.
More importantly, what's the salary cap? We should work that out before we introduce free agency and definitely before the draft.
If FA is introduced to ORFFL, all SA born and bred players will want to return to the only ORFFL franchise based in their home state :mrgreen:
