Also, was thinking that a feature request for the site could be to allocate a roster members in advance. This would save Bear's admin overhead as well, and people could potentially pick a day / event where they are a) available, and b) confident! Not sure how this would work with the 'winner goes again' model (concurrently??), but worthy of consideration? And Bear - I'm basically out of action through the 5th of Feb now. My original plan was to increase the daily bet size to double the amount we have had until now just for this month which would give us a chance to discuss what we do in the future. As for the amount we have to make to get another go the next day, that has actually always been in play right from the start and had always been at a basic 100% setting. We don't have to use this feature and just continue with the order of betting as we are now and reward the top performers at the end of each month (I would much prefer this personally, but as we are a club then we all have a say, the same as we will over this coming 30 day period with the betting amount). Another thing with the order of betting, by keeping it the same as we do now, we can not only continue rewarding the top performers each month but we can also have a reward time at the start of our 7th month to reward the top 5 performers from our first 6 months. Just a few thoughts anyway. It would be good if everyone could consider what type of formula we should use to determine the daily bet amount in the future and post it here so we can get something together for everyone to vote on over the next 30 days - but bear in mind that currently our actual punting activities are running at a small loss (will be getting an article together for the main page covering our first 4 months of operation in the next few days, time permitting). I would also appreciate it if someone could volunteer to take on the captaincy of the club from Friday morning until Monday night whilst I am busy (read flat out) at the local Tunarama Festival - the local community group I am heavily involved in has a steak sandwich stall as a fundraiser every year at the festival where we raise 75% of our annual funds that go towards helping the under-privileged in the community and I am at the stallfrom 7.30am till about 11.30pm forthe duration of the festival overseeing the bbq cooks (often taking on shifts of 4-5 hours straight myself) - so if anyone could take on the captaincy duties to make sure the system has switched to the right person I would gratefully appreciate it [span style='font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3;]

I am also happy with anyone doubling their stake having another go, this is obviously simplest done via the system, but I can understand you wanting to have some 'creative control' over how that happens and don't mind what we go with.
Thanks for all the hard work Bear. Happy with the doubling of the stake. As long as it's not too much admin I would like to think we would continue with the stricko system (top 5 punters). Are we talking about if you double your stake you go again the next day and if you blow it no top 5? Or scraping the top 5altogether? Personally I think top 5 is a good reward as very few punters are doubling up.

I actually harbour the dream of us building a big enough bank over the year where we have enough to consider doing something special with the funds - a few ideas could include: - getting together in Melbourne for the Grand Final or Melbourne Cup Day; - getting together in Melbourne for a pre Christmas party or even look at a bigger picture by - considering purchasing and racing a horse in the club's name (imagine a horse running around called WaaaayTooSerious) Really, the sky's the limit - and it would be much easier to reach any of these goals now that we have greater control over our daily punting allowance - the more we can invest, the more thoughtful our bets will be!!! Love the effort you've put into your post Swallows, fantastic work mate And that's exactly want I want this club to be all about, everyone having their say and presenting options like that!!! I too would like to see the daily allowance increase each month, but I would also really like to see us start making a profit from the punt so we can fulfill one aim I had from the conception of this club, to be able to make a donation to Walesy/TS as thanks for letting us hijack our little corner of this fantastic site - after all, without TS we wouldn't have the W2SP club!!! I guess that puts the onus on all of us to improve our overall ROI to the point where we are constantly recording over 100% ROI. Pity it wasn't my day today, had a hot tip in Melbourne come through late, then another in Sydney - both got up (Melb winner @$2, Syd winner @$8) - had a nice all-up on them!!!
