The rolling lockout introduced for this season has me very close to calling it quits for supercoach.
Already it engulfs a mass amount of my time during footy season, but a rolling lockout means I will have to be checking late changes, subs and the captains loophole prior to every single game, every week, and then be available to make changes on the spot.
Is anyone else concerned with having the time to do this for every game each week ?? Or am I totally over-reacting here ??

You don't have to do any of that. You can set a captain and your team Friday arvo and not look at it til Monday. Might cost you 100 points a season. Might cost you nothing. If you think you can realistically win then you will probably have to have a twitter feed and SC app and be checking it Friday night, Saturday arvo, saturday night and sunday arvo. Might cost you 20 mins of your weekend if you work out the times and put appointments into your smart phone calendar.

I understand that, but its all or nothing for me. I just saw dream team has no rolling lockout - I never thought I'd consider moving to the darkside, but it's on the cards now...

Over reaction a little I think... if you are semi serious about Supercoach you would be checking your team Friday, Saturday and Sunday anyway.

So I would be checking my team as soon as the final team sheets are done and subs announced for every single game -, that's the problem !
I guess what I'm asking is are you guys up for committing yourself to that sort of thing ?? I don't see the point in putting in so much effort to trades, strategies, bye weeks etc without monitoring last minute changes for each game.

Yep you dont have to use the rolling lockout if you dont want to, the 4 emergencies should be enough cover for those who go away without net coverage or just dont want to look at it over the weekend for whatever reason. Personally I wont miss the frustration of trading in a player only to have him pull out before the game resulting in a donut. On a different note does anyone know if SC gold includes live scoring? might be worth the 20 bucks if i does

No, you need the digital pass for live scoring

    Love the rolling lockout.
Personally, I think it's a bit of a storm in a teacup, and that the majority of people who play both SC and DT will be pissed when they can fix there SC team, while watching on as they score a donut in DT.
Wouldn't suprise me to see a rolling lockout in both comps next year.

I don't have internet at home anyway, so I can't even use this rolling lockout anyway. It won't have much effect either, maybe some teams might get another 50-80 points due to the captain clause, but good players won't get suddenly pulled out. Especially with Andy and his tank research.

So for walesy and terry, are you going to be on the ball prior to every single game to get late changes / subs ?? Or maybe just games where someone is questionable ? Or do you not think it will have much of an impact if you miss the odd sub or late withdrawal ? I'm genuinely interested people's approach to this.

I suspect there will be close initial monitoring as everyone is fired up and want to do well early. This will likely be followed by diminishing interest as demands on time come from other activities. Expect some coaches to be on 24/7 when they have a critical match for ladder position or against a mate. Personally think the captain's so-called loophole will get a greater workout, particularly those teams with the likes of Cox, Nic Nat, Roughie and Ryder sitting in their forward lines.

I will use it and I intend to do better than those who don't use it. Those who aren't serious enough can settle for second place.

So Terry, are you telling me that you are or aren't comfortable with second place? :)

Rolling lockout can only be a good thing, if you don't like it, don't utilise it. Sound like you're experiencing a 'SC First World Problem'.
I think it'll be great for when you've picked a fringe player to be on field and they've been given the bloody kermit vest, so now you may have the opportunity to counter that. How hard could it be anyway to check the line up and, IF needed (coz most of the time i reckon you won't be affected anyway), make any adjustments on the SC app?
