Giro d'Italia 2013

Forgot all about this! It's been a good race marred by the crazy weather! The riders have it tough enough with all the long stages and climbs but the weather just makes it more excruciating for them! Jodie is still leading and her unique picks compared to my side are performing a lot better, so I don't think I can pass her! Another Giro finished! It was a good race if it was somewhat marred by the weather affecting all the important stages. The winner was never really in doubt, with Nibali's two main rival in Hesjedal and Wiggins losing a lot of time and then abandoning. The other places were fiercely contested though, including the White (young) jersey and even the Red, in which Cavendish became the first sprinter to win since Bennati in 2008. Jodie and I definitely nailed most of the right picks. Nibali, Uran, Santambrogio, Intxausti, Betancur and Majka were all up there in the end. The difference though were Aru's form at the end and benefiting from being team-mates with Nibali, as well as picking Viviani who was the 2nd best sprinter and scored a lot more points than Bouhanni, who pulled out. So well done Jodie! Also managed a very high 26th overall. Los Campones did good too to get third spot on the podium. Scarponi and Niemec did do well so those unique picks paid off, as did Kiserlovski. Hesjedal didn't but then neither did Wiggins so only lost out a bit there. Rioters came 4th with Evans and Cavendish which was great and a bit more luck at the selection table could have seen them score even higher. Still, everyone had respectable scores, plenty of cycling knowledge at TS! Thanks for playing Le Tour is only a month away!
