Good evening TS users, Round 3 was a poor result on the punt and these things happen. I don't dwell too long and you focus on what lies ahead so I am looking forward to round 4. summary of the week & year is below: Week 3: Bets 7: won 1 lost 6 Balance at the end of week 2 is $1,393.74 Profit for the week: (-$220.25) Percentage increase on bank for the week was (-13.64%) Total Bets 23: won 14 lost 9 Profit for the year $393.74 I hope you guys did much better than how I went on the punt and I look forward in posting my selections Friday.
Len, your words of wisdom have got me pumped! Round 4 will be a super round. You've got my mind away from Jason's mob beating our boys last week. Going to the G on Friday just to add a lot more volume to the crowd.
Very informative Crafty Thanks for sharing your punts. While Len said the aim of the game is to win I wonder at what point would you consider enough is enough? IF losing constantly would you take what remains of your stake and play elsewhere/go home! And likewise if winning making profits would you stop at a preset value ie after doubling your investment or whatever set point deemed appropriate? I understand everyones risk assesment is different but this thread is still intriguing to follow. WhileI have the odd tattslotto ticket, some money for a supercoach league, my assesment of the riskis that itstoo dangerous and look at longterm investments with gauranteed returns abliet without the thrill I guess?
Hello WolfBunny, I start with the stake of $1000 and if I lose the total amount of the stake, then it's game over. I have no upper limit on collect. the only stopping point (when in profit mode) is the final siren of the grand final. my history on afl betting has been very good. I don't touch the four legged variety (dogs & horses), pokies are stupid and the odd game of poker is played. soon enough, i'll be posting footy quad selections. this I need to do with the tab as sportbet don't support such a market. I have this year had a soft go on the nrl and am $800 +/- infront due to favourable upsets. I don't share this information as this forum is for afl products. That is unless the TS community would like to know what I am doing there. Profits over the last two years have been used towards end of year trips - the best way I see to enjoy punting success. I appreciate people don't gamble as they work too hard to lose money betting on things they have no control over. I gamble during footy season to further enjoy the sport I love. I appreciate those in our TS community who follow this and I respect those that chose not to follow. either way, I hope all your supercoach teams score well and you achieve goals you set yourself.
Welcome to round 4. The bookie has a few short price favorites and with all going to plan, a small profit should be made this round. I'm having a bit of a crack with the tigers first up for the simple reason - value at odds in wet weather football. the game could go either way and the winning team will win by less than 40. I've swayed to the tigers side as hopefully my cheering from the Olympic stand tonight might get them over the line. with any luck, one of the multi's will get up and if both do....you beauty! i will post my initial bets now and through the weekend, i may post a few more ( depending on original bets). ok, so here we go. week 4 / bet 1: Richmond 1-39 vs Collingwood Bet: $40 Odds: $2.85 w4 / b2: Richmond / Richmond (half-time / full-time double) Bet $40 Odds: $3.30 w4 / b3: Richmond vs Collingwood - either team to win under 15.5pts Bet: $20 Odds: $2.50 w4 / b4: Richmond vs Collingwood - total game points less than 169.5 Bet: $50 Odds: $1.88 w4 / b5: 9 leg multi all to win - Richmond/Carlton/Port/Gws/Geelong/Hawthorn/Sydney/St.Kilda/Freo Bet: $20 Odds: $64.38 w4 / b6: 5 leg multi all to win - Carlton/Port/Geelong/Hawthorn/Sydney Bet: $100 Odds: $2.85 Balance after bets: $1,123.74 Bets placed 11:12am with sportsbet
Rooster, believe me, if hindsight was a strength of mine, i should of backed collingwood. a flood of money came for the pies all week and continued into the game, where they came in 20 base points in the last two hours before the game. lesson learnt i guess.
stupidity got the better of me on the friday night. carlton got the better of me and most punters/tipsters yesterday. (if only) is not my method of reasoning - it happens and you move on. having said all that, my next bet for the week is: week 4 / bet 7: 2 leg multi - sydney win into stkilda 1-39pt margin Bet: $75 Odds: $3.85 Balance after bet: $1,048.74 bet placed 10:50am sunday
What a terrible week on the punt. an absolute form reversal from the first two weeks. a 25% chunk of the bank went out the door this week the only positive i can draw is that i am still in profit mode after 4 weeks. the losses now out way the wins. now to start round 5 i have to wait 3 1/2 days to bet on what will not be the match of the round.. looking at the early markets for round 5 and it appears to be a number of close games. that's it from me until thursday afternoon and i hope your punt went well. summary is below. Week 4: Bets 7: won 0 lost 7 Balance at the end of week 2 is $1,048.74 Profit for the week: (-$345.00) Percentage increase on bank for the week was (-24.75%) Total Bets 30: won 14 lost 16 Profit for the year $48.74

certainty of the week; week 5 / bet 7:Hawthorn 1-39 Bet: $150 Odds: $2.25 balance after bet: $839.74 bet placed 2:45pm
Ouch. I'm feeling your pain Crafty. Theres no certainty in betting it seems. The bombers burned me this week.
Crafty Yarni wrote: certainty of the week; week 5 / bet 7:Hawthorn 1-39 Bet: $150 Odds: $2.25 balance after bet: $769.74 bet placed 2:45pm Any game involving Cats vs Hawks, the only certainty is it will be a close game.
@ROOSTER..yes i can jump around and behave like john mcenroe but what's the point - you win some, you lose some. last year was the year of the favourites and looks like this year the outsider is getting up and the bookies are having a win. i was only too happy that i was busy over last week and i managed to forget to bet on the bombers against the saints @WARSAKEN..i had a flying start to the year to not only return profits, but now in deficit mode. when these favourites start firing again, life will be better. on a side note, last year on the nrl i did my cash purely because of the underdog winning. i this year on nrl have taken the outsider more often than not and the west tigers have pumped out good wins at juicy odds. let's hope you both are having a good year on the punt
ROUND 5 WRAP: I thought the bad luck from round 4 was over and here i am copping a loss two weeks in a row. the tigers made me a small profit and the pies did as required. no one told me the swans would wake up and play tough contested footy and eliminate my freo/coll double. i have to admit, i thought wce would win well but port played the better game. i thought after what hawthorn did to freo that they would do the same to the cats but it looks like the kennet curse is back. if this pattern continues on the punt, the next two weeks will be profitable. i have already placed initial bets for round 6 and i will post this information shortly. good luck to all the punters out there and the summary is below. summary: Week 5: Bets 7: won 2 lost 5 Balance at the end of week 2 is $839.74 Profit for the week: (-$209) Percentage increase on bank for the week was (-19.93%) Total Bets 37: won 16 lost 21 Loss for the year $160.26
welcome to round 6. let the last 2 weeks be forgotten as i start making money again. big game first up today with the pies and the bombers. after round one the bombers would of been everyones fancy but a form turnaround since then for both teams and the pies deservedly hold favouritism. this is where my money starts - its on the pies. other games on anzac day and i believe the saints should continue their winning ways. seeing as brisbane has only won 1 quarter of footy this year, this is my reasoning in backing the saints. the kangas fly to perth and i think they should put up a good fight against freo but it is freo who i believe will be ahead at the final siren. on saturday, gold coast should defeat gws as the metricon stadium is a very good home ground advantage. west coast should beat carlton at etihad and the swans will demolish the demons at the g. on sunday it's a toss up between the dogs and crows and at this stage of thursday morning i am leaning to the bulldogs side. my enigmatic richmond should prove no match to hawthorn and those tiger supporters that think we can win three in a row against the hawks are kidding themselves. to round things off port and the cats are playing the match of the round and at this stage i fancy geelong just. i think the cats will run out the game better. ok so my initial bets for the round are: week 6 / bet 1: Collingwood win Bet: $100 Odds: $1.67 w6 / b2: 3 leg multi - collingwood / st.kilda / fremantle Bet $90 Odds: $3.15 Balance after bets: $649.74 good luck to all on the punt and may we all win some cash this week
