I am not going to well with naming my emergencies for Round 14, somehow I have listed Jordan Roughead as both interchange and ruck emergency. For the record I entered Jordan as the interchange emergency in the Enter Teams section of Too Serious, not that it matters as he is a late withdrawal from the Bulldogs side due to injury. If I did have the other J Roughead in the ORFFA, Jarryd, he would definitely be in the starting 15 and not an emergency. My two emergencies that have played have put a strong case forward to be included in the Cradle Mountain 15 for Round 15, defensive emergency Snake scoring 111 and midfield]emergencyZaka scoring 91, whilst defenders 'Needs a Spurr on' and 'Will I ever receive jumper No. 31' scored just 33 and 43 respectively. Chris, given that the Devils are close to full strength they should get the win over the injury ravaged Guim, however they only have a narrow advantage at this stage, so selection choices by Cradle Mountain have left the door slightly ajar for Darraweit to get the win and consolidate their place in the top 8.

 

For a little variety the Cows v Hoppers fixture which started out as a 15 a side game, became a 14 a side fixture and now looks like being (at best) a 13 a side match. The Cows seem to have the upper hoof with a few of the grasshoppy things ](rocky and lachie) seem to havechosen suicide ]rather than risk being stamped on. At least a couple of the herd have performed to the level that would be required if finals' footy were to become a reality (five points, sauce and robbo), but the rest seem to look like english batsmen 'playing' at the home of cricket. Yes, I agree cows and cricket might be a metaphor too far. Very obvious content of memo to sNoZ and self - try to build a squad with players rather than spectators.

A strange game played between two 13 player teams ended.in a comfortable win for the home side who while happy with the win were not happy with some performances - notable the normally reliable Swan's core. Big ups to Callum for his Les W vote haul - an outstanding effort. The 'Hoppers were a little bit flat with coach sNoZ finding some positives in his very young squad. 'Having nearly half the squad eligible for Rising Star votes is not necessarily an ideal approach to winning games' he offered between downing a corned silverside sandwich and a pint of local lager.
