I dunno man, I think we made a mockery of the SC gods last year, with our 2300 averages in the first few weeks, and our upgrading our bench coverage to premiums.

I think theyre getting there own back, and they are taking us all with them- yet another week where 2100 was a good effort!

Anyways, check out how it all went down, over the break.

    <!--more-->

    Collingwood vs Essendon

    Result: Collingwood by 1, 11.14.80 to 11.13.79

It was mid week, with both teams coming off just a 4 day break, but that certainly didnt stop them from delivering an absolute cracker of a match. For the whole match, Collingwood keep inching out in front, only to have the Bombers sneak a few quick ones to bring the margin back down- culminating in a Stanton goal to put the Bombers in front with 2 minutes remaining. 30 seconds later, Blair soccered one through (after confirmation from the camera), to take the win for the Magies. Great game.

Swan was massive. 42 disposals, 20 contested touches and 3 goals saw him accumulate a massive 180SC, with his partner in crime, Pendlebury hot on his heels with 34 touches, 17 contested and a 140SC.

Absolute pie hogs with only 2 other Magpies breaking the ton Sidebottom (104) and Jolly (100).

Beams looks to be bouncing into some form which should level out his fall with a 98SC off 32 touches.

Clarke did enough for his owners with a 69SC off 13 touches, beating out the forward premium Travis Cloke who could only manage a 68SC from his 3 goals. Seriously, kicked a quarter of his teams score for a "below average" game.

Heppell and Zaharakis were fantastic, knocking up scores of 116SC and 113SC, to provide a tidy return to their owners, while Ryder knocked up another ton with a 104SC.

Watson was below average for his standards with just 93SC, but it was Stanton who will have the hecklers out in force this week, just 13 touches for a 71SC after being tagged by Clarke.

    Heroes: Swan, Pendlebury, Heppell, Zaharakis
    Villians: Cloke, Stanton

    Fremantle vs Carlton

    Result: Carlton by 8, 10.5.65 to 7.15.57

Its happened a number of times this year, but really, inaccurate kicking costs games. Fremantle had as many behinds in this game as Carlton had scoring shots- so its not too suprising to see how hard they charged to overcome the 24 point difference at 3 quarter time. Kicking 3.5 just couldnt do it for them.

Mundy top scored for the Dockers with 27 disposals and 110SC, definitely looks like hes getting back to it.

Anyone who traded out Broughton would have to be feeling mighty sheepish right now, his 16 touches were enough for a mighty 105SC, the equal of Barlow, who continues to impress with 28 touches.

Fyfe didnt look overly comfortable out there, but still managed to collect 22 touches for a tidy 98SC. Such a gun.

Meanwhile Duffield knocked out another tidy 95SC off 23 touches.

Simpson top scored for the Blues with a 124SC, with Murphy hot on his heels with 28 touches and 118SC.

Gibbs finally broke back into ton-town with a 109, while Robinson finally turned good DT scores into a good SC score with a 102SC.

Judd continues to knock up sub-premium scores, this time with 19 touches and 87SC- after a heavy Crowley tag, while Kreuzer scores himself the only villian tag this week with another sub-par performance, just 64SC off 10 touches.

    Heroes: Mumdy, Broughton, Simpson
    Villians: Kreuzer

    GWS vs Western Bulldogs

    Result: Western by 42, 15.14.104 to 9.8.62

After the first quarter, I did think, surely Dogs- just 5 behinds, youre tanking already! But outscoring the Giants 99 to 46 after the quarter break sure is one way to prove me wrong!

Griffen was an utter gun. 37 touches and 155SC top scored the game. Boyd and Minson were close behind though, their scores of 133SC and 132SC were fantastic efforts.

Lake showed up for an 85SC, which was a nice welcome back, while Dahlhaus did enough, his 2 goals scoring him 80SC.

For the Giants, Power top scored, his 120SC off 30 disposals was fantastic. Tieing on 114SC was both Giles and Cameron, off 13 and 12 touches respectively. (They made em count, what can I say!!).

Bugg moves himself closer into Keeper territory, with 28 disposals and a 101, while Greene was welcomed back after a week off with open arms, his 96SC coming from 27 touches.

Shiel did well, 84SC and McDonald should see a very yummy price rise with his 79SC.

Treloar disappointed a little from recent form, just 53SC off 18 touches, but it was Smith, and his Green Vested 17SC off 11 touches that hurt. Would have been better but that 36% DE was shocking!

Heroes: Griffen, Boyd, Giles, Bugg, Greene
    Villians:

    North Melbourne vs Gold Coast

Result: North Melbourne by 34, 17.25.127 to 13.15.93

A big second quarter to the Suns put a bit of fear into the game, going into the main break a point up- Even though North were trying to lose the game through bad kicking! Seriously, 25 behinds is the kind of result which should (and does) cause upsets! I guess though with 17 majors, its all good.

Petrie and McIntosh both top scored for the Roos with 140SC, and like the Giants from the last game, it was from low possession efforts (just 16 and 17).

In fact, the leading possession getter on the ground was Swallow, whos 31 touches were just good enough for a 112SC.

Harvey was a little off his usual scores, with 23 disposals for 85SC, while any coach who traded into Ziebell will be spewin, his 50SC a down right insult!

On the Suns side, there was no Ablett and no Hall.

There was Brennan though, who once again knocked up a ton.

And there was Horsley, whos first game was 87SC. Not too shabby.

    Heroes: McIntosh, Petrie
    Villians: Ziebell

    Melbourne vs St. Kilda

Result: St. Kilda by 18, 12.12.84 to 10.6.66

2 points down at half time, 3 points down at 3 quarter time. And couldnt score in the final quarter. Not a single point. Not a great finish for the blokes down at Demonland. But Melbournes loss was St. Kildas win who ground out a good win in some pretty horrid conditions.

And due to said horrid conditions, it meant less chipping around the backline, giving Geary just 28SC, and more importantly, Goddard with a 15 touch, 58- off 40% DE!

But lets head up to the pointy end of the tree, cause as poor as Goddard was, Lenny Hayes is an utter gun. 25 touches, 130SC and looking to be one of the best pickups of the year!

Grimes top scored for the Dees, 27 disposals and a 120SC shows exactly why coaches have still, after everything, taken a risk on this bloke.

Magnar gave us a bit of a scare, getting himself stitched up in the 1st quarter, but finished running out the game for 79SC. Definitely a better performance than the last few weeks!

    Heroes: Hayes, Grimes
    Villians: Goddard

    Brisbane vs Geelong

    Result: Geelong by 38, 12.7.79 to 4.17.41

Kicking 7 behinds to Geelongs 7.5 up to half time, it was never going to be Brisbanes night, but they did rally in the second half (al beit with inaccurate kicking), and managed to put on 4.10 to 5.2.

Rockliff though, what a gun. 32 disposals and 140SC led the charge for the Lions. While Hudson and Black were the only other two to break the ton mark with scores of 122SC and 111SC respectively.

Hanley and Adcock owners can rest assured that they did enough, with scores of 86SC and 89SC, but if you were one of the high-risk coaches who took a gamble on Drummond, youd be ropeable at his subbing for just 30SC.

Hawkins bagged 6 majors and 139SC for the Cats, Not a bad effort in the weather at all!

Selwood did enough, his 18 touches bringing home a 114SC- though a certain behind the play swing might see him sitting a week or two in the stands. Never again Selwood- you just cant control yourself man!

Christensen did well, 29 disposals and 107SC a very tidy return.

Johnson put in another bad game, 21 touches for just 65SC. A little strange that his DE was twice that of Christensens, but hey- Im not the scorer!

Smedts, oh poor Smedts owners, scored himself the Green vest and picked up just 2 touches. at 50% DE. For a 3SC. Bye bye cash cow- hello slow-burning trade utility.

    Heroes: Rockliff, Hawkins
    Villians: Drummond, Johnson

And the Sunday games? It appears that in the ongoing struggle between reviewing games, and the kids, that the kids have wono this round. There will be no Sunday game reviews. (My apologies!)

That said though, the stats should be up in the next 30 minutes or so, so feel free to enjoy them when they pop up.

Or just rage in the comments a bit about just how brutal this year has been!!
