Donuts, bullets, more donuts, late withdrawals, injuries and more donuts. What a horrid week in Supercoach!
Seriously, we all knew it was going to be bad- but seriously, there are teams that arent even going to break 1000 this week.
Hopefully that isnt you, and your 1500+ manages to move you up a few spots this week!
Let us know how youve faired, over the break.

Carlton vs Geelong
Result: Geelong by 12, 14.13.97 to 11.19.85
For the first time in a few weeks, I reckon Carlton lost one here that they really should have won. Im not saying Geelong were bad though, or that they didnt deserve the win, but really, a 2.9 final quarter really did the damage - dropping them out of the top8 for the first time this year.
Simpson top scored for the Blues with a 113SC, with Judd the only other Blue to ton up on a 105SC.
Gibbs was *meant* to be freed up to play through the middle with all of the Carlton outs- and considering he could score 81SC off just 11 touches, hes obviously still got the potential. But Ratten man, youre killing him! Reckon hell be a very interesting proposition next year, particularly if Ratten goes!
Kreuzer - youve done my team pretty well- but sadly, its not looking great for the man. I dunno, he doesnt quite look right out there, and Im starting to think that hell need an upgrading soon. Just need to find a ruck that wont get injured!
For the catters, Selwood was awesome. 27 disposals and a massive 154SC.
Funny thing is, while there were 6 cats to score the ton- outside of Selwood, I reckon any cats you had would have disappointed with Johnson (60), Hawkins (55) and Enright (49) being the chief offenders!
Heroes: Selwood, Scarlett
Villians: Gibbs, Robinson, Kreuzer, Johnson, Hawkins, Enright
Richmond vs Fremantle
Result: Fremantle by 12, 12.6.78 to 9.12.66
Now, I havent jumped into a Richmond forum this weekend, but I imagine that there is a lot of lids being slammed shut right now- and a truck load of eating ones own. Harsh perhaps considering I havent checked them out, but you Tigers fans are a critical bunch!
That said though, I cant say the same- I mean, sure- they could barely manage to double their score after half time- but in the greasy conditions, and Fremantles game plan- it really wasnt ideal for how they play - It felt much like how Melbourne scragged out a win against the Dons last week (Controversial I know considering how many times Ive read a Richmond fans ragging on the Dons ability to get down and dirty last week!)
That said, De Boer was great for the Dockers, knocking up 29 touches and 13 tackles for a 141SC, while Johnson was also instrumental in the backline, picking up a 121SC.
With Sandilands going down early for just 5SC (and 10 weeks if the rumours are to be true!), Griffin filled the role beautifully, picking up 43 hitouts for a 117SC.
Tuck top scored for the Tigers, with a 15SC- but really, who has him? While Maric continued his ripping form, 44 hitouts for a 111SC - and I imagine that there will be a good number of people making the direct Sandi -> Maric swap.
Cotchin broke the ton with a 107SC, though it did come with a potential price- rumours of an arm injury are circling, but the club has clarified that he should be right to go next week.
Then the villians. Plenty of them with Deledio finally due for a downer, with Crowley keeping him to just 15 touches and 67, Newman just scored 56SC off 16 touches, Martin a miserable 44SC off 20 touches - while Riewoldt could only manage 53SC after suffering a minor ligament strain in his ankle. Reckon theyll give him the next two weeks off with a trip to the Giants up next week.
Heroes: De Boer, Johnson, Griffin, Tuck
Villians: Sandilands, Martin, Newman, Deledio, Reiwoldt
Gold Coast vs St. Kilda
Result: St. Kilda by 95, 21.18.144 to 7.7.49
Yep, another GCS game and another white wash. Seriously, the amount of times I heard talk in the pre-season that the Suns should improve on their wins from last year was just silly. A team of second year players is going to struggle just as hard as a team of first years players. On the plus side though, they are a year closer to being a team of 5th year players. And thats when all bets are off.
Only two tons for the Suns, Iles on 131SC, and Brennan who managed a 113SC off just 18 touches.
Hall, whos getting games at a handy time managed a tidy 65SC, which is much better that the donut he was promising a few weeks ago.
Its also better than the 64SC turned in by one Ablett. Never take the captaincy off Ablett I said after last weeks effort, jumping back onto the little master... Guess he was just smiting all us non-believers right?
For the Saints, it was a bit of a ton fest with 7 tons, including a big 159SC from one N. Riewoldt which came from 7 goals 2 behinds.
Jason Blake managed 21 disposals and a goal for a 144SC, and might just have picked himself up a brownlow vote if the jokes are to be believed.
Saad did very well for himself, bringing a solid 80SC to the table, after being subbed off in the 3rd quarter.
Heroes: Riewoldt, Blake, Saad
Villians: Ablett
Essendon vs Sydney
Result: Sydney by 4, 13.8.86 to 11.16.82
It feels like the second week in a row that Im writing this for the Bombers. You cant win games when you kick 1.11. It just cant happen. That said though, the Sydney pressure in the first half was absolutely phenominal. They were everywhere. They were pressuring the ball carriers, pressuring his near and far targets, then providing their own targets when the inevitable turnover happened. It was a seriosuly good half of football.
Then we got to the last quarter, 47 points down and Essendon nearly broke the record for the greatest final quarter comeback ever. They kicked 9.1 in the final term to just 2 behinds, and were it not for a twist of fate, and perhaps a second or two, should have had a kick on goal, 55 out to decide it. As it happened however, Dempsey, not knowing the time, took the mark, reeled around to bomb it long, and got pinged by the siren as he tried to pull himself up. Shattering.
That said though, while that record wasnt broken, another was. Essendon set the record for the single most inside50s in a lossing team, with 78 inside50s. Seriously, they SMASHED the old record of 67 out of the park!!
Watson stop very tall, doing so much, with 32 touches, 21 of them contested, 2 goals and a 149SC.
Fletcher also cracked the ton, with a very tidy 110SC- but that was it. Not too many villians as most hit around abouts their averages, but Stantons 83SC gets him on the list after the lofty standards hes set thus far in the year.
There were 6 tons for the Swannies, with Shaw top scoring on a 125SC, RoK, Bolton and Jack also all scored 120+ scores.
Malceski scores himself a villians hat this week, his 6 touches scoring 41SC after being subbed on in the 3rd for Hannebery.
And hey, if Im gunna cap Stanton for the above reasons, I reckon JP Kennedy can get one for his 86SC.
Heroes: Watson,
Villians: Stanton, Malceski, JP Kennedy
Port Adelaide vs Hawthorn
Result: Hawthorn by 46, 16.12.108 to 9.8.62
Sure, it was in Port, and they have been in good form of late, but the game wa snever in any doubt for Hawthorn. They were dominant in the first quarter, kicking 7.4 to 3.3, and never really let the Power get back into it.
Sewell top scored for the Hawks, his 33 touches and 127SC top scoring infront of Rioli, who through just 13 touches, managed a 125SC.
6 other Hawks cracked the ton including Breust, Hale, Mitchell, Franklin, Gibson and Birchall.
Over on Ports side, there were two tons- Kornes picking up a 124SC off his 29 touches, and Bra. Ebert, who picked up 23 touches and 108SC.
Redden filled in for a bunch of folk this week, and while he was subbed, still managed himself a tidy 50SC. Much better than that Stephenson fellow that I ended up fielding. (And costing me a loss in my cash league by 27 points!)
Heroes: Sewell, Rioli, Hale
Villians:
Melbourne vs Collingwood
Result: Collingwood by 42, 19.15.129 to 13.9.87
Here we go, the Pies, in trouble after three rounds, have won 8 in a row and are sitting smack bang at the top of the ladder, surely regaining their premiership favourites tag.
Swan was massive in his first game back, picking up 42 disposals and a 160SC. Not far behind was Sidebottom who picked up 156SC off 36 disposals.
Collecting 37 touches was Beams, who picked up a 137SC.
Coming back into the ton-lub was Cloke. while he could only jag 2 goals, his 16 touches were enought to score him a very welcome 107SC.
Over on Melbournes side, wait... do we have Melbourne players anymore?
Heroes: Swan, Sidebottom, Beams
Villians:
Anyways, I reckon thatll do it. Top scoring this week was 11th Round & Hour, who from the looks of things, has been building his squad towards this 2306 all year, jumping 7000 spots this week to 349 overall.
Nicely done there mate!
Stats will be up in the next hour, so in the meantime, let us know how youve gone!
