Well, the last of the byes are through- and man, I’m gunna enjoy logging in tonight and putting on a whole field of premiums.

    It’s been a while!

    <!--more-->

    Sydney vs Geelong

    Result: Sydney by 6, 12.8.80 to 11.8.74

Sydney did it again. Dominated early- held their lead for half a game- then nearly fell over at the final furlong.

It was super accurate kicking that really boosted out their lead though, kicking 7 straight in the first quarter to hold a 6 goal lead. Would have been a completely different game had they opened 4.3- or as weve see in some of the worst cases this year, 1.6

Jack top scored for the Swannies with 20 touches and 9 tackles for a 117SC. He also managed a pair of goals.

Johnson did very well for himself, picking up 110SC from 18 touches, while Mumford showed some good form, with just 10 touches and 23 hitouts for a 97SC.

Goodes really didnt get into the game, getting subbed off a 3 quarter time for just 7 touches and 2SC. Might find himself fodder to become my F8/M7 with Martin if he keeps this up.

Speaking of Subbings though, The green vest, Everitt, managed to kick the sealer- making a massive 86SC from just 6 touches and a goal!

Only two tons for Geelong with Enright making an 123SC off 29 touches. Selwood was the other, scragging out a 101SC off his 25 touches.

A lot of average performances really, without any standout failurs- though I reckon Hawkins is probably the only fantasy relevant (?) fella to fail, with 12 touches, a goal and 65SC.

    Heroes: Jack, Enright
    Villians: Goodes

    Western vs Brisbane

    Result: Brisbane by 58, 18.6.114 to 7.14.56

Three early goals to Merritt, and the Lions simply didnt let up. I mean, yes, there was definitely a fair swag of accuracy effecting both scores- but really, from the 3rd quarter onwards, it didnt even look like the would come close- kicking 4 behinds in the 3rd and 2.4 in the 4th.

Hanley top scored for the Lions, making a mockery of his 30 odd last week, with 29 touches, 13 marks and 151SC. Huge. Rockliff picked up 40 touches and 147SC while Redden managed a 127SC off 31 disposals.

Zorko is magnificent. 29 touches, 118SC and you just have to wonder how he managed to slip through the GCSs grasp!

For the Dogs, Griffen made a 115SC, while Cross managed a 102. Lakes 89 was passable, as was Dicksons 84SC.

It was a pretty dark day for Boyd though. 20 touches and a 63SC for a bloke who I imagine would have been an A grade captain selection this week. Hope you avoided that bullet!

Meanwhile, Clay Smith once again wore himself the green vest. Scored just 30SC and I dunno, Im worrying a little that with 2 subs next year, he could be the poster boy of cashcows next year. A worrying possibility!

    Heroes: Hanley, Rockliff, Redden, Zorko
    Villians: Boyd

    Collingwood vs West Coast

    Result: Collingwood by 3, 12.13..85 to 12.10.82

Bam. What a fricking game. A real battle of the two premiership favourites- and damn, it really offered a massive teaser for what we can expect to see come finals time.

Collingwood kicked out early, picking up the first 3 goals of the game- til the Eagles finally woke up and managed to go into half time with a 6 point lead. The 3rd quarter started much like the first, but it was 5 goals to the pies this time. And once again, the Eagles slowly brought that lead back in, hitting the lead halfway through the final quarter.

A tense last quarter though- with Beams kicking the winner with 7 agonising goaless minutes of play.

It was Beams of course who top scored. Been in awesome for and this was no exception. His 34 touches and 3 goals enough for a 128SC. Swan was hot on his heels, getting on his bike with 38 touches and a 117SC.

Sidebottom just missed the ton with a 99SC while 4th gamer and new MBD recruit, Jamie Elliot managed a massive 96SC off the back of an utterly massive final quarter!

Williams did his job if you risked him with a 72SC, however Clarke got himself subbed off for just 12 touches and an 18SC. Ouch.

Five Coasters broke the ton, with Cox leading the charge with 15 touches and a 119SC.

Kerr, Hurn, Waters and Gaff were the other Eagles to break it.

Naitanui was a little down on his usual form with just 76SC, which is nice cause it will bring his price down a little for next year :)

Only real villian for the game was S. Selwood who was well down on his average, scoring just 57SC off 17 touches.

    Heroes: Beams, Swan, Elliot, Cox
    Villians: Selwood

    Fremantle vs Essendon

    Result: Essendon by 24, 17.11.113 to 14.5.89

It was a big game for both teams with top4 and top8 positions at stake, an honestly, near the end of that 3rd quarter, I honestly thought that the Dockers were going to run away with it. Their 3rd quarter was fantastic, kicking 6.2 to just 1.1 (before Essendon put on 2 goals in the last minute.)

The last quarter however, was all Essendon. They had it in their forward line 75% of the time, and while their inaccuracies were back, they certainly did enough kicking 4.6 to just a single behind.

Watson prolly got himself another 3 brownlow votes with 27 touches and 120SC, while Hurley put on a career best 6 goals for 106SC.

Stanton got a lot of it, 28 touches, but his 115SC only made for 88SC, while Ryder, defintiely struggled early, but managed a tidy 104SC with 16 touches and 22 hitouts.

De Boer had another big game for the Dockers with 26 touches and 123- as did Pavlich, who cracked a 117SC.

Broughton, worryingly, played small up forwad, but managed 11 touches and 2 goals for a 74SC, however, DPP M. Johnson only picked up 12 touches for a measly 57SC.

    Heroes: Watson, De Boer, Pavlich
    Villians: Johnson

    Melbourne vs GWS

    Result: Melbourne by 78, 30.15.135 to 9.3.57

Well, it was billed as one that the Giants could pick up, and for the first quarter, they were going blow for blow with the Dees, going into the first break 1 goal down. Sadly though, they could only put on 1.1 over the next two quarters as Melbourne dominated with 12.7 of there own. 2.7 to 3.1 saw the GWS have a respectible final quarter, but really, the sting was well out of the game by then!

Bates return to the team has seen him bring a rich vain of form with him, picking up 28 touches and 110SC, while Jones, Rivers, Watts and Mcdonald all broke the ton.

Magner is looking well dusted as a cow, so Im hoping you didnt cop his 59SC, while Grimes really disappointed- 26 touches were good, but just 56SC.

For the GWS, nobody broke the ton- though Ward and Treloar both hit 99SC off 27 and 26 touches respectively.

Adams did nicely with 24 touches and a 97SC while Greene hit up 21 touches and 92SC.

Giles had a rare bad game, just 7 touches and 16 hitouts for a 54SC. Might be time to think about upgrading him if you havent already!

Meanwhile Bugg had a shocker with just 8 touches and 34SC.

    Heroes: Bate, Treloar, Addams, Green
    Villians: Grimes, Giles

    North Melbourne vs Adelaide

Result: North Melbourne by 32, 17.19.121 to 13.11.89

30% of tips in the Last Man Standing comp tipped the Crows by 3 goals- thats how big an upset this one was. (By the way, LMS- still alive, carn teh Dons!)

North just won. They won convincingly and while there was a bit of a worry in the 3rd, when the Crows put on 4 unanswered goal, their ball movement was just too much for the Crows.

Adams top scored the game with 26 touches, 3 goals and a 151SC. In fact, 9 players Roos cracked the ton, which was just a massive effort.

Interestingly though, Petrie, ZiebellSwallow, and Harvey all missed tons- who youd really expect to be the usual suspects to make it.

Gibson sadly picked up the green vest and came on with the game well dusted, his 6 touches making just 9SC. Ouch.

For the Crows, Sloane, Walker, Thompson and Dangerfield all just cracked the ton, and with the Roos tons didnt leave much more pie to go around.

Porplyzia managed just 12 touches and a 55SC, while Tippett could only manage 46SC after being subbed out at half time with a concussion.

Shaw also struggled with just 6 touches for a 39, and apparently is in doubt for next week with his hyper-extended knee.

    Heroes: Adams, Grima
    Villians: Tippett, Porplyzia

Anyways, thats the review. Stats are hot off the presses, and Ive just got to say again. Damn it looks good to have a full compliment of premiums on the field!

Looking forward to cruising the next few weeks and dominating the finals!

So, how are you tracking- fully upgraded team? Or were mistakes made on the way and Zorkos filling in for F7?
