Lasts weeks 2,903 would have been rubbing his hands together, right in the box seat for the car, til BAM- knocked off his perch in one week with a 2,918 coming through from Still Fishing, who might I say, picked up that score from outside the top 25k, with Brian Lakes 57 on the field!

    Congrats mate.

    So, onto the review...

    <!--more-->

This week, I didnt see coming. Upset after upset, and sure things were pushed right to the wire. Is it just me, or has this season suddenly gotten extremely close again? Or are teams just cruising into the finals?

    Hawthorn vs Geelong

    Result: Geelong by 2, 18.10.118 to 17.14.116

Geelong to the Hawks- Say it! (And if you get the obscure Scrubs reference, feel free to post Hawthorns reply in the comments.)

Regardless, this was two teams that certainly werent taking things easy. When looking back at the game, its hard to believe that at the start of the second quarter, Geelong were up by more than 50 points!

But the Hawks didnt give up, and they just kept coming (taking a bit of a break in an even 3rd quarter), to tie the game up half way through the final term.

And what a final term, Tommy Hawkins, what a fricking star. 6 goals, including the final 2, one of which was 55m out after the siren. Talk about pressure. Reckon he got a little robbed SC wise though, just a 147SC for his efforts.

Not much clear of 29 touch Selwood who managed a 132SC off his efforts.

The Big O did well if anyone is still holding him, 13 touches and 87SC is the kind of return we were hoping for at the start of the season mate!

Over on the Hawks side, Hale top scored with a big 141 from 17 touches and a goal, while Sewell picked up a 137SC and Rioli a 124SC - who has actually been running a 129.8SC average over the past 5 weeks. #BringingItHomeStrong.

A couple of villians from the Hawks though. Birchall and Lewis would have given you 66 points while Suckling returned just 13 touches and 43SC.

It was Hodge though, who was subbed off for just 23SC, lowering that starting price for next year!! nomnomnom.

Heroes: Hawkins, Selwood, Hale, Sewell, Rioli
    Villians: Birchall, Lewis, Suckling, Hodge

    Western vs North Melbourne

Result: North Melbourne by 56, 18.7.115 to 8.13.61

It was a tight game to half time, just a kick in it. Heck, even to 3 qtr time it was just a 20 point ballgame, but that last quarter, 7 straight to just 1 late one really had the floodgates opened as North ran out to a solid victory.

Only Boyd and Griffen cracked the ton for the Dogs with scores of 123SC and 113SC.

Dickson (86SC) and Smith (78SC) both did you fine if you havent cashed them in yet, while Johannisen put up a 72SC in his first game.

Harvey top scored the game with 32 touches and a 125SC, but really, it was a well rounded week for the Roos, without any reall standouts or failures.

    Heroes: Boyd, Harvey
    Villians: Lake

    GWS vs Port

    Result: GWS by 34, 16.11.107 to 10.13.73

Oh Port, youve done it again guys!! What is it with you guys and giving up wins to the new guys on the block!?!

And you did all the hard work, after blowing out to a 44 point deficit in the second term, you got it back to within a single kick at 3 quarter time!

You really didnt want it though right? Those GWS kids have been averaging over 100 point losses the last few weeks. They shouldnt have had anything in the tank, and it should have been you guys kicking 6 goals to 2 in the final term!

Alas, you didnt- and now from all reports, Primus is gone. Anyone got the word on who they are looking to get in? Mr. Fly? Youre always good for a nod. ;)

Giles man, why did I give up the faith and trade you out?! a massive 177SC for the big man in a welcome return to form! Ward knocked out a 142SC off 29 touches while Treloar picked up a 129SC and Cameron certainly gave his RS credentials a little boost, kicking 3.3 and 121SC.

Yep. Port were there. Hartlett was great, picking up 126SC but sadly was subbed off.

    Other Port players did stuff.

Heroes: Giles, Ward- heck, all the GWS that werent Adams and Kennedy and Bugg. Hartlett
    Villians:

    Fremantle vs West Coast

    Result: Fremantle by 65, 17.11.113 to 6.12.48

I almost choked on my wheaties when I click over to this game (I say almost, because the lack of me eating wheaties really stood in the way of it. Im *certain* though, that had I a bowl of wheaties, with sppon well in transit from bowl to mouth when the scores came up, there would have been a fair choking action going on.)

But really, 10 goals up to 3 quarter time, with just 2.2 to 1.1 kicked in the final term.

Pav is a god. Scored a 179SC after putting on 8 goals. Heck, the boy is leading the fricking Coleman on 55 goals right now, averaging over 5 goals a game for the past 8 weeks! (Never mind the 147 average over the past 5 weeks!) Massive form to the star, its as if he is single-handedly hauling those Dockers into the finals race.

Superman capes and Wharfie time included.

Um, yeah, Pav. Godly. Mundy, a 128SC while Pearce looked good with his 114SC.

Gunna have to throw a villians vest over Broughtons way though. Seriously guy. If I dropped c-bombs on this site, I would be dropping one right now.

On the Coasters side, Kerr can hold his head high. 36 touches and 142SC. Waters, Priddis and Gaff all fell over the ton-line, but from their it was ugly.

Not 60s ugly, but certainly 70s mission brown style. (Oh, who am I kidding, I *love* mission brown!).

But yeah, Selwood, NitNat and Cox all in that ugly not-quite-villian-but-man-I-expected-better range

Cant say the same for Hurn though who, Ill say, made the most of his FIVE possessions, scoring 44SC.

    Heroes: PAAAAAAV. Kerr
    Villians: Broughton, Hurn

    Collingwood vs St. Kilda

    Result: Collingwood by 6, 12.19.91 to 13.7.85

Im gunna say it. The Pies nearly blew it! 11 more scoring shots should have seen them well out in front.

But no. The Saints pressure was very good, going into the 3rd quarter break a sniff infront. Couldnt quite hold on in the last though, and using SKThundas favourite term, put in an honourable loss. Really gave it everything, and should be better for it moving forwards.

McEvoy top scored with 126SC while Im happy to see Goddard knocking up 122s again. He re-sign while I wasnt watching or something?

Saad can hold his head high, with 13 touches and 3 goal making him a very tidy 82SC.

On the Pies side, Jolly smashed out a big 168SC, followed by Beams who picked up a 144SC.

Pendles was consistant as ever, with 30 touches and 126SC- while Sidebottom made it back this week with 32 touches and a 121SC

Swan could just make a 97SC off his 31 touches, just 4 points (and double the touches) of Elliot who picked up 93SC off just 15 touches (and 9 tackles!!)

Heroes: McEvoy, Goddard, Jolly, Beams, Sidebottom, Elliot
    Villians:

    Brisbane vs Richmond

    Result: Richmond by 48, 20.12.132 to 12.12.84

Close for the first quarter, then all Richmond leading to the 3rd quarter break, carrying a 7 goal lead.

That said though, including the one Brisbane put on at the end of the 3rd term, they kicked 5 straight to get them to withing 14 points, before Richmond woke up and closed the match with 6 straight.

Maric as he does, led the scoring with a very nice 149SC, while Deledio was hot on his tails with 33 touches and 144SC.

Conca put in a solid showing with 29 touches and a 123SC- and could be on the radar for next year with another preseason under his belt.

Over on the Lions side, it was pretty ugly- so I wont say much, just to say- Zorko, when everyone was failing around you, your 105SC was a godsend! Bless you fine sir.

    Heroes: Maric, Deledio, Conca, Zorko
    Villians: Newman

Im gunna cut it off there. Might get to the last 3 games tomorrow, maybe not. Either way, the stats are now up so enjoy!

And anyways, finals bound!! Drop in to let us know how youve gone, and how many finals campaigns youre on!

Me, Ive cracked 3 out of my 5 leagues, including cracking the top4 in my cash league this week, beating the old third (now fifth- mwahahaha) with a score of 2426.

Still stinging over that Bombers game though...
