Bullets Bullet everywhere. So much pain this week. Just mayhem! From Pendles on Friday night, to Chappy and SJ on Sunday evening, it was a disaster area this week.

    And its only round 3!!

Check out the full review over the break.

    <!--more-->

    Carlton vs Collingwood

    Result: carlton by 60, 18.14.122 to 9.8.62

It was meant to be a big, tight, strongly contested game, but in reality just wound up a roflstomp. Carlton dominated early, Carrazzo doing an absolute number on Pendles, then, as the second quarter rolled round, so did the injuries. Reid going down with a quad, while Ball did himself an ACL essentially shut the door on any kind of comeback.

Judd and Murphy dominated for the Blues, with 35 and 39 disposals respectively, they amassed 134SC and 130SC. Also breaking 30 disposals was Scotland, bouncing back from previous weeks with a 127SC, and Gibbs, seeing a lot of it but just scoring 107SC.

Carrazzo, Robinson, Hampson and Waite all also managed to crack the ton.

Based on his compatriots, Yarran and Bower both disappointed with scores of 56SC and 51SC respectively.

Meanwhile on the Pies side, Sidebottom can hold his head high. 21 touches for a 103SC, and Swan can lay claim to their other ton- his 109SC coming off 31 touches.

But Pendles, 62SC off just 15 touches, Cloke, 62SC with just one goal, and Thomas, 22 touches for a 64SC can all hang their heads in shame!

Every one of them were beaten by the rookie-prices, Marty Clarke who was another shining light with his 85SC.

Heroes: Judd, Murphy, Scotland, Sidebottom, Clarke.
    Villians: Pendles, Cloke, Thomas, Beams.

    Richmond vs Melbourne

    Result: Richmond by 59, 20.13.133 to 11.8.74

Kicking away early, it was assumed that Melbourne would continue their form for the year- but to their credit, they did fight back through the first half, going into the main break 8 points down. That third quarter though, 9 goals to just 1 and the game finished up just as every other- with Melbourne recieving a pasting.

Lots of big scores for the Tigers (Hate to be playing SCSS in the ORFFL this week!), but Tuck and his 30 touch 152SC was the highest of the lot. Grigg, with a massive 37 disposals was hot on his heels with a 147.

Meanwhile, Cotchin kicked 3 for a 126SC and Conca proved why so many had to trade him out at lockout after seeing him as a Sub, scoring a 115SC off 29 touches.

In all that domination though, in *all* that, Martin could still just make a 70SC off 19 touches (enough to make you want to say grrrrr), while Riewoldt was reasonably well held to just 62SC (al beit off 3.3).

Morris and Ellis we both serviceable, scoring 64SC and 49SC respectively.

On Melbournes side, Howe can hold his head up high with a tidy 24 touch 121SC, but he was the only one to break the ton.

Grimes continues his run of bad luck, this time getting himself concussed while tackling Richmonds Daniel Jackson. (To be fair though, Jackson did appear to take action to ensure that Grimes would go down hard in that tackle.)

The magnet, Magner put in his worst game for the year, managing just 9 disposals and a 61SC. Ouch lad! Couldnt have done that in week one instead to get it out of the rolling average already!!

    Heroes: Tuck, Conca, Howe
    Villians: Martin, Reiwoldt, Newman

    Port vs Sydney

    Result: Sydney by 22, 16.9.105 to 12.11.83

I dont think Ive made this joke yet this year, but who is this team and what did they do with Port!? I thought they were very good against an excellent Swans outfit, constantly reeling the scoreline back in time and time again, heck, they went into the final change just 3 points down. Honestly can say that while I expected improvement from them this year, they have gone past what I thought.

Cassisi led the way for the Power, his 26 disposals enough for a 115SC. Redden did nicely for those of us with ihm, 16 touches at 94%DE saw him pick up a 69SC, while rookie Chad Wingard under performed a little, just 9 touches for a 42SC.

Robbie Gray played his first game for the year, and just 12 touches for a 59SC could see him as a tasty upgrade option in a few weeks- to those coaches gutsy enough to pick him up!

For the winners, Hannebery led with a massive 36 disposals and 121SC. Goodes picked up 115SC, but also a report which could see him missing next week.

JP Kennedy continues his great form, this time with a 113SC while mid-pricer Parker repays the faith with a very tidy 108SC.

    Heroes: Hannebery, Parker
Villians: Dont think I can really name many, maybe McCarthy after a few good weeks- or A. Johnson for the same, but really- for their price, they are still cruising along.

    Fremantle vs Brisbane

    Result: Fremantle by 29, 8.16.64 to 5.5.35

Im sure we all expected a bigger margin, but really, if youre kicking 2 behinds to every goal, you dont deserve to win by much!! That said though, you can kick as poorly as you like when you restrict the opposition to the least ever inside 50s in CD history, with the Lions entering just 20 times for the match.

I normally start off these things with the top scorers, but its too big to wait. I avoided him for most of last year due to the shoulder, but after pre-season surgery hoped that it would *at least* travel as well as last year. It didnt and Nathan Fyfe had his shoulder pop out, getting subbed out in the second quarter for 8 touches and 34SC.

Mundy came on for him, and managed 13 touches for a 57SC potentially making for a bargain in a few weeks.

Playing his first full game was Barlow who collected 25 youches and 108SC.

But it was Broughton and his 110SC who would have made a lot of coaches smile. Well, not those coaches who traded him out! While Duffield, after last weeks scare, bounced back with a beautiful 28 touch, 28SC

In a team that got so dominated, their werent many highlights. Rockliff was the only Lion to break the ton, his 108SC coming off 22 disposals, while drummond managed 96SC in his first game back.

Speaking of first games back, Brown managed just 3 touches in his for a 9SC. gotta be a reckon low for the big fella.

On the rookie front, with Leuenberger going down, rookie Longer stepped up to the plate! 19 hitouts and 8 touches were enough to see him rack up 85SC!!

    Heroes: Duffield, Broughton, Barlow, Longer
Villians: fyfe, Mundy, Hanley, Brown, Leuenberger

    Gold Coast vs Essendon

    Result: Essendon by 17, 15.15.105 to 13.10.88

My my, werent the Bombers given a scare, dominating the first quarter, before going into the final quarter 7 points behind! The Bombers did enough though, kicking 5.3 to 1.3 in the final term.

Gary Ablett Jnr is a freak and for mine, is once again the Perma-captain. That arm band isnt going anywhere after his 3rd 40+ disposal game for the year (out of 3!). 45 touches, 27 of them contested an 2 goals scored the little master a 182SC in a losing team- a massive effort.

Hall is the other we were watching, kicking 2.1 off 12 touches was enough to secure him a 72SC. Not a bad return.

Watson, as he so often does, led for the Bombers, his 25 touches enough for a 132SC, while Ryder continues his massive form, with 17 touches and 2 goals for a 127.

A special mention for Fletcher, the old fella is still knocking out tons (107SC) in his 350th game. Salute.

Meanwhile, some tightness saw Dempsey subbed off early in the second, despite passing the fitness tests. A little gutsy considering how the match turned out, but considering his history, I reckon you could have expected that sucker to twang if hed played on. Full marks to the Docs, regardless of how much it screwed us.

Now- be honest, raise your hand if you traded Broughton out to Dempsey. Me, Ill raise my DT hand. Ouch- what a stinger!!

    Heroes: GAZ. daylight. Watson, Hall
    Villians: Dempsey, Zaharakis.

    Western vs St. Kilda

Result: St. Kilda by 63, 15.13.103 to 5.10.40

Its been a tough start to the season for the doggies. Tough teams and tough opposition, but this week, they barely even fired a shot. St. Kilda kicked away in the first, and just kept kicking. Seriously, a few late goals when the game was well and truely dusted saw the result go from a travesty to a thumping.

It doeesnt happen often, but leading for the saints was Dempster. 23 disposals at 91% DE for 125SC. Need one of the "[Dempstered]" shirts I reckon.

Hayes was fantastic, 30 disposals and a massive tackle for a 124SC, and it looks like the bloke hasnt missed a beat! Great news for the Saints finals hopes I reckon! Fisher also did very nicely, with 20 touches and a 120SC.

Reiwoldt continues to reward his coaches, kicking 2.2 off 13 touches for a 116SC, while Stanley did very well, kicking 1.3 off 14 touches for an 88SC.

Sadly, Milera couldnt continue his great form, managing just 15 touches for 37SC.

For the Dogs, Boyd dominated with 39 touches and a 133SC. The only dog to break the ton.

Lake did alright with 18 touches and a 73SC, however, got himself reported and is looking to miss a few I reckon. Dangerous for those with Dempsey as well!

Hargrave struggled with just 48SC while Smith continues to fall from his awesome debut, just 12 touches for a 30SC. At least he played the whole game this time!

    Heroes: Hayes, Reiwoldt, Boyd
    Villians: Hargrave, Smith

    GWS vs West Coast

Result: West Coast by 81, 23.12.150 to 10.9.69

It was meant to be a smashing, and an 11 goal to 2 opening term set the scene for one... but it was suprisingly close after that, and while the Eagles were in cruise control, 12 goals to 8 over 3 quarters was a decent result for the Giants.

Scott Selwood what are you on son! After scores of 104 and 155, he fronted up this week with 31 disposals and a game leading 145SC. Massive. Shuey though was hot on his heals with a 25 touch 141SC and Masten, with 30 disposals for a 135SC.

Great results thus far for the WCE mid-priced strategy, though they have had a pretty soft run thus far.

Hurn did nicely with a 100SC, while the rucking duo of Cox and Naitanui both managed a 101SC.

Stevens did enough, his 81SC could see him traded into a few teams if he can keep his spot in the team, while Waters managed to overcome an injury concern, picking up 19 touches for a 76SC.

Ward continues to top score for the Giants, this time collecting 36 disposals for a very tidy 130SC. Shiel deserves a bit of a mention, 79SC off 28 touches, including a game high 15 contested possession should seee him scoring highly as the weeks go on.

Giles keeps on keeping on, his 12 touch 81SC was great against one of the toughest rucking duos in the league.

Smith (79SC), Hombsch (75SC), Kennedy (74SC) and Treloar (73SC) all did their coaches very nicely.

Greene, while scoring a very nice 59SC probably disappointed his coaches, many of which would have traded him in this week for a big price rise- but really, not too shabby.

Heroes: Selwood, Shuey, Masten, Gaff, Ward
    Villians:

    Hawthorn vs Adelaide

    Result: Hawthorn by 56, 21.14.140 to 12.12.84

It was the first BIG test for the Crows this year after being very impressive to date, and after sticking with the Hawks for the first quarter, it wasnt suprising to see the gulf of difference between the two teams. Hawthorn are just too strong, and for mine, really deserve their premiership favourite tag.

Gibson top scored for the Brown and Gold, with 30 disposals and 129SC, closely followed by the absolute bargain, Lewis and Roughead with 121SC. The latter of which is an intriging pick-up option after missing half of last year.

A lot of high scores for the Hawks, but there were also some injury concerns, Hale, while scoring great, dislocated a finger, while Birchall (also scoring great- 98SC), was subbed off at 3-quarter time with either a corked knee, or a calf. I guess time will tell its seriousness.

Tippett did well in front of goals, kicking 3.3 off 17 touches for a 128, while Jacobs continues to deliver as a cheaper ruckman, his 104SC doing the job.

Dangerfield did well as a midpricer, scoring 99SC off 27 touches, as did Porplyzia, sort of, his 67SC less than wed hoped, but still much more than his price suggest.

The other crows though were below average. Thompson just 90SC, Sloane 76SC, Reilly 71SC and we start to see just how hard it can be to pick those mid-pricers from the start of the year. Particularly the ones in the middle.

In rookie news, Kerridge played his first game, being subbed on in the 3rd, and essentially killed his initial cash cow value, with 3 touches for a 5SC. Guess it gives us an extra week though before we need to get into him (provided he picks up the pace enough to warrant it!)

    Heroes: Gibson, Lewis, Roughead, Tippett
Villians: Rioli, Thompson (Little harsh that one!), Johncock

    North Melbourne vs Geelong

Result: North Melbourne by 17, 20.11.131 to 16.18.114

4 games against the easy beats, and theyve taken a step up from last year defeating the reigning premiers. Norths finals hopes are looking beautiful right now and youd love to be a fan!

Getting a break on the game early, then just never seems to let up, constantly pulling away from the Cats- try as they did to pull it back in. A fantastic 4 quarter effort.

Sure, inaccurate kicking probably cost the Cats a bit, who did finish with a few extra scoring shots- but you cant take any credit away from the Roos- it was a great effort (and for the second week in a row, Geelong killed my perfect tipping week in the final game of the round!)

Leading for the Roos was Wells. After a horrid pre-season, hes really fired up, 31 touches and 139SC - assisting in 5 of Norths 20 goals.

Why did Ziebell have to miss the first few games, the second half of last year saw him a lock in my squad, before getting himself reported! Now, first game back, he knocks up 27 touches and a 132SC. V. Nice a maybe an option for Fyfe, pending his results.

McIntosh continues to impress (and kill Goldstein), picking up 16 touches and 117SC (while leaving his compatrion on just 5 touches for a 69SC)

For Geelong, Selwood pulled a 140SC straight out of his... jumper. 29 touches at 84% DE enough to do the job. While Bartel was the only other cat to break the ton.

Geelong powerhouses, Chapman and Johnson both struggled to impact, with 57SC and 56SC, though the latter one did appear to be hindered. That SJ is going to be great value when he finally bottoms out!!

I know a number of people who traded into Hawkins this week, and it was looking bleak, though a few late goals saw him scrape out a 78SC off 12 touches and 4 goals.

    Heroes: Wells, Ziebell, McIntosh, Selwood
    Villains: Goldstein, Petrie, Chapman, Johnson

All in all, its been a bloody tough week! Seriously, my DT team got hit by so many bullets it didnt even scrape into the 1900s! Horrid.

Thankfully, I managed a 2147 in SC, which seems around par, taking me up 6k spots to 14,000.

So, who hit you guys? Did your trades work out? What are you going to do with Dempsey and Fyfe? Both are probably going to line up next week, but will they be able to play a full 4 quarters!!

Oh the life of a Supercoach!
