I just want to use the pre-spiel of this post to mention something quickly.

We have a partial lockout this Wednesday. So if youre looking to reverse any trades- dont forget that they are locked in once that rolling lockout occurs!

    Beware.

Also, with Gaz- if he does require a tradeout, you wont have the option of going into a Magpie, unless you go early with it. Dangerous play if you ask me.

And with that, check out the full review over the break.

    <!--more-->

    St Kilda vs Fremantle

    Result: Fremantle by 13, 14.8.92 to 11.13.79

With a horrible record against the Saints, particularly in Melbourne, it was always going to be a tough ask for the Docker. Particularly with Fyfe not making it up for the game! St. Kilda had the best of it for the first half, though some inaccurate kicking saw them leading into the major change by just 6 points. (With 6 more scoring shots!) A big 3rd quarter to the Dockers saw them kick 5.3 (which co-incidently was 1 less point than the Saints could manage in the second half), and run out eventual 3 goal winners.

Sandilands was massive (*boom tish*), winning 44 hitouts, along with 20 disposals for a 121SC. Duffield is definitely looking an astute choice right now. His rebounding roll is looking very lucrative, this time, a 22 touch 116SC.

Barlow accumulated 30 touches, for just a 100SC- but is definitely breaking into stride, while Broughton did "enough", scoring 25 touches for an 85SC.

Neale played his first game for the season, and in true rookie fashion, rocked a sub-effected 27SC. Im really starting to think that our second string of cashcows (the first downgrades), may find themselves seriously effected in the cash-generation stakes if this keeps up!

Hayes battled hard for the Saints, 30 touches were enough to see him bring up the 104SC. Jones (109) and Geary (100) were the only other Saints to crack that tone.

Milera and Stanley both did enough though, with a 61SC and 59SC respectively.

    Heroes: Sandilands, Duffield, Pearce
    Villians: McEvoy, Fisher

    Carlton vs Essendon

    Result: Essendon by 30, 15.19.109 to 11.13.79

Being a Bombers fan, Im gunna take a few liberties with this one, cause damn- Carlton were paying $1.10 for the win. The bookies, and the public thought we were absolutely no chance, and yet through a magnificent 2nd quarter which saw Essendon kicking 5.5 to Carltons 0.3 was eventually the margin.

Leading the charge for the Bombers again, wasBrent Stanton. This time, 36 disposals at 83% DE were enough to see him score a 161SC. Id love to know what Holey has his count at in the Brownlow right now- reckon his and Watson would both have to be right up there early. (Long season though- Im not making any calls this early!)

Crameri also continued his excellent start to the season, but with inaccurate kicking, 5.6, was limited to just 131SC.

Watson, Heppell and Hooker all also cracked the ton.

Top scoring for the Blues (again), was Marc Murphy. This time with 29 disposals for a 120SC. Simpson and Scotland also managed to crack the ton, with scores of 119SC and 113SC respectively.

Not too many disappointment in this game, Kreuzer underperformed for his average with just a 66SC, but most others got close enough to their average in a game that saw the points spread out nicely.

Of course, when talking this game, one has to mention the bad luck that befell Carrazzo, going down in the first few minutes with a shoulder- which is looking to be a 8-12 weeker. So if you have him, not only do you cop his 3, you also cop his price drop AND need to cash in a trade. OUCH.

    Heroes: Stanton, Crameri, Murphy
    Villians: Kreuzer, Carrazzo

    Collingwood vs Port

    Result: Collingwood by 24, 14.13.97 to 10.13.73

It was a big 1st quarter for the Pies, kicking 7.5 to Ports 2.2. After that though, they pretty much held out that scoreline for the rest of the game. Leads me to ask the question - Did Port pull themselves back into it, or were the Pies casting an eye forward to Wednesday?

Pendles bounced back from last weeks disaster, with 29 touches and a 134SC, as did Cloke, just 17 touches, but kicked 4.2 for a 126.

Swan did what Swan does, accumulate. Heck collected 36 disposals for a very tidy 121SC, while anyone who traded Fyfe out for Sidebottom will be laughing. His 26 touches and 2 goals good enough for a 113SC.

Clarke continues to be one of the better rookie selections this year, this week with 20 touches and an 89SC, however Paine wasnt so good, managing just 5 touches for a 24SC.

Boak top scored for the Power with a 31 touch 119SC, while mid-pricers, McCarthy and Ebert managed to go alright, with scores of 94SC and 90SC respectively.

Robbie Gray was looking alright, 17 touches for an 82- before disaster struck, and hell be taking the year off with a knee. Makes for an interesting decision next year though. Priced at roughly $400k, though discounts will probably bring that down to $300k- will be a massive risk/reward candidate.

Pfeiffer scored well, 20 disposals for a 64SC, but personally, I wouldnt be jumping on him.

    Heroes: Pendlebury, Cloke, Sidebottom,
    Villians:

    Adelaide vs GWS

    Result: Adelaide by 46, 13.18.96 yo 7.8.50

Well, the GWS won the second quarter this week. Won it quite week. And Izzy snagged his first goal which was always gunna be fun. From outside 50 too. Gotta expect to see a fair few more from him before the end of the season.

Tippett had a good one. 4 goals enough for a 126SC, while the Sloane ranger picked up a 24 touch 125SC.

Porpz was in keeper form, picking up 14 disposals for a 95SC, while Dangerfield was just behind, with 91SC.

A coupld of injuries though, Petrenko, Martin, Jaensch and Vince all hurting, the latter looks to be sitting out for a few weeks.

Ward once again top scored for the Giants- 33 disposals and a 133SC was very nice, and could have been better had he converted his 2 behinds. Power also managed a 131SC off 31 disposals.

Giles was the only other Giant to crack the ton with a 106SC.

Lots of great rookie performances though, really took the sting out of the sheer volume of outs, with Hombsch (88) and Bugg (83) performing massively.

McDonald (78), Miles (74), Mohr (74), Trelaor (73) and Shiel (69) all more than did their parts.

That said though, anyone looking to jump on the cheap, and white hot form of Chad Cornes would be left reeling right now, just 9 touches for a 25SC.

Heroes: Tippett, Sloane, Porplyzia, Ward, Giles, Hombsch, Bugg
    Villians: Jacobs, Vince, Cornes

    West Coast vs Hawthorn

Result: West Coast by 5, 5.21.51 to 5.16.46

Yeah, you read that right, the game consisted of 10 goals and 37 behinds. Absolutely attrocious kicking, that didnt have a single one kicked in the first quarter.

Kerr led for the Eagles, amassing 33 touches for a 138SC. If the Eagles want to be a threat in September, they are going to want Kerr in this form.

Waters continues his good form, cracking the ton, on the dot, off of 26 disposals, while Scooter Selwood would have let a few down, just a 94SC this weelk. Miles off his lofty standards! (Oh who am I kidding, I still *wish* Id had the stones!)

Hurn struggle with the Bruce tag, damn Bruce and his late callup, restricting Hurn to just 7 touches for a 51SC.

A couple of 120s from the Hawks, with Mitchell, Sewell and Suckling all making the mark, while Lewis was the other Hawk who cracked the ton with another 105SC.

Franklin scored an 89SC, despite registering 1.6 on the score board, while Hale found himself in the Red vest for just a 68SC.

Whitecross punished those coach who took the Fyfe->Him risk this week, restricted to just 12 touches and 47SC.

    Heroes: Kerr, Mitchell, Suckling
    Villians: Hurn, Whitecross

    Brisbane vs Gold Coast

    Result: Brisbane by 65, 17.9.111 to 6.10.46

The game was a bit of a write-off, what we all want to know is HOWS GAZ!?!?

Reports directly after the game, infact, Gazs own tweet were positive. Sore, stiff but structurally sound. Might miss next week if there is any swelling. But Ive heard the odd little bit or piece aluding to more. Its got me worried for the little master. Particularly with the partical lockout removing any Gaz -> Magpie option off the table.

That said, dispite going off late, he still managed to pick up 33 touches for a 134SC. Down on his average, but still fricking awesome.

Brennan knocked up yet another ton, while KHunt put in a stellar performance, 21 touches and 84SC. Im hoping that if you took the risk with him early, that youve held onto him- hes really starting to show a bit.

The rookie that we all care about, Hall did what he does- knocked up another 56SC.

Rockliff restored my faith. Ive been dirty on myself all week for chosing him over Murphy, but his 167SC off 37 touches was a beauty to behold. Love ya work Rocky!!

In fact, a number of Lions restored the faith- Hanley managed a 118SC off 25 touches, Golby a 103SC and Brown made 84SC off 3 goals.

Redden would have hurt his owners, 26 touches is good. 10 of them contested good. 85% DE good, but just 71SC. Ouch!

    Heroes: Ablett, Rockliff, Hanley, Golby
    Villians: Redden

    Geelong vs Richmond

    Result: Geelong by 10, 11.9.75 to 9.11.65

<a href="http://tooserious.net/ts-best-bets-round-4">Holeys Best Bets[/url] called a Richmond victory, and dagnamit, swing the accuracy on-goal around and that was the difference.

Maric top scored for the Tigers (bet I wont say that again this year, even with 2 of them!), with 15 disposals and 104SC, while Cotchin, Deledio and Foley all also managed to just fall over the ton-line.

Ellis and Morris were both fantastic, scores of 83SC and 80SC made them fantastic replacements for the Shaws and Lakes of the world- heck, the way Shaw/Lake have been going, they were only a 50/50 to beat that score anyways!

Martin looked good early this game, but fell away as it went on, picking up just 23 touches and 79SC, while Conca managed 61SC of 21 touches due to a 57% DE. Hes also looking at a week or two for a high bump in the final quarter.

I reckon that Reiwoldt fellow is going to get the Villian tag tattooed onto his forehead soon, just 11 touches and a goal this week for a 48SC will see him very cheap very soon.

Selwood top scored for the game, his 27 touches enough for a 144SC, while Christensen showed us why he was on our pre-season radars, 23 touches for a 123SC.

Chapman bounced back from last week with 18 touches and a 103SC, sadly though, Johnson couldnt quite do the same, just 21 touches and 69SC.

Meanwhile, anyone who traded into Hawkins this week woudl have been disappointed, just 14 touches for a 67SC.

    Heroes: Selwood, Christensen, Enright
    Villians: Reiwoldt, SJ

    Sydney vs North Melbourne

    Result: Sydney by 36, 17.11.113 to 10.17.77

It was meant to be closer than this, last week North were fantastic. Though to be fair, they werent bad this week- just inaccurate. It was really another case of "Same scoring shots, vastly different result".

Parker, wow, what a pick up! 29 disposals for a game high 128SC! Fantastic mid-priced option thus far. JP Kennedy and Malceski both did their business well, with scores of 107SC and 106SC respectively.

Not too much else to note with no Goodes, RoK continues his slide, and would need a vast reverse of form to consider bringing him in- even as his price continues to fall - this week scoring a 69SC off 16 touches.

On Norths side, Thompson top scored with 21 touches and a 125SC, while Anthony and Swallow both tonned up with 102SC.

Ziebell did alright, not last week alright, but certainly good enough with 22 touches and 98SC.

Harvey still cant handle a tag, just 14 touches and a 46SC- though Im expecting him to bounce back last week- the little terrier always does.

Not sure if I can say the same for Goldstein, just 7 touches before getting subbed out for a 40SC

    Heroes: Parker
    Villians: Harvey, Goldstein

    Melbourne vs Western

    Result: Western by 21, 13.10.88 to 9.13.67

Well, theyre off the mark, knocking up their first win for the year. Not neccessarily a compelling win, but with the Dees getting it to within a point in the 3rd, its good to know that the Dogs still have it in them to bite back and grind out a win.

Dahlhaus top scored for the Dogs, a massive 149SC off 23 touches. No-one tell Jo though alright, I warned her off him before the season started and every week since shes been letting me have it. If she finds out about this score- I swear, its not going to be pretty!

Hargrave made himself a solid midpricer this week, picking up 26 disposals and 110SC.

That was all overshadowed by Boyd though, just 19 touches and 85SC was well down for the bloke.

Rivers was the only Dee to break the ton, his 15 touches enough for a 103. Bate is finally starting to live up to pre-season hype, his 20 touches enough for a 97SC this week.

Really though, if you have anyone from the Dees, with the exception of Magner, youre doing it wrong.

Magner however, for the second week in a row, drew tagging duties. And really, he did a decent job of it on Boyd. Worrying man, worrying.

    Heroes: Dahlhaus, Bate
    Villians: Higgins

And that was the week, horrible horrible scores look to be the standard. Heck, my 2176 took me up 10k spot to around 5,000th.

So if you look at your lot this week, and it was ugly, feel happy in the idea that- so was everyone elses lot! :D
