Wellity well, it looks like I accidently clicked the delete thread button when my browser moved stuff on screen on me. Stupid thing- ah well, it's just a good thing I'm re-vamping the forum over the offseason. anyways, as we last left this thread, it had gotten horribly off topic and Lucas was ragging out the Bombers... Let's rejoin it there: tolla: the bombers would have beaten the pies in that second match last year though, had we not have two guys go down before half time (again). all the pies then had to do was keep running and keep rotating, wasn't really much of a 'win' imo back on topic though, zaharakis is a lock for me, he is just going to keep improving Lucas: Trolla BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Yeah rotations whatever, ten goal belting and 16 goal half. That happens in the days where if you want you can shut up shop. Not. Would'a'could'a'should'a but just not good enough. Been the Bombers' story since half time in the 2001 GF. Oh yeah, sorry, back to the discussion. I'm thinking cheap forwards on the whole, load up on premium mids and defenders, and the 1.5 rucks. But all that could easily change when the rookie positions come out.
Thread? What thread? The cheap forwards seems to be where the interesting choices are this year. Saad, Milera, Porplyzia, to name a few. Buddy is pretty much the only premium forward to lock. We used to assume Nick Cry-woldt was a lock as well.....oh how things have changed.
Nick Riewoldt's early season run just got hell lot easier!! Round 1 - Port Adelaide Round 2 - Nathan Bock-less Gold Coast Round 3 - Doggies (normally goes alright against them) Round 4 - Zac Dawson Round 5 - Melbourne (who he normally has field day against)
Hmmm, that sure looks pretty tasty for Nick. Are you willing to keep him all season though? - you need to be convinced he is fit and durable enough to score well all year. I'm leaning towards some of the midfielder type options over the key forwards (sidebottom, Zaharakis, Adams even...) as perhaps being more sensible choices.

Jamie Cripps looks set for a change off role, playing off the backline. Which isnt a surprise as thats what he was recruited as. Pretty sure is only listed as a Fwd next year so could be one to keep eye on as is still rookie price thanks to being sub in every game.... http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/regional/gascoyne/a/-/sport/12481186/crippling-cripps/
He said Watters has outlined a new role for the teenager for season 2012. “He wants me playing more backline,” he said. “I like to play backline, you get to run and carry out of the backline.

I wouldnt read into that Scum article at all.. This injury occured around about Dec 9th and has been running well since. Including finishing 2nd in 1.2km Mornington Bay Swim, Top 5 in a 2km Time Trial.. Is set to be back at full training when they get back from Xmas/NY break..

Its called wishful thinking...lots of the forward locks of past years seem to be on the decline - Chappy and NRoo included. They may still make the Top 10 Fwds mind you, but are unlikely to hit the heights of yesteryear.
I reckon Didak's worth watching. Seems to me to be a clear example of what happens when a player doesn't get a pre season, and then carries an injury into the season(his pec). He never really got going last year, but his 3 preceding years have been great. If he is fit, I would expect him to return to a 90+ average quite comfortably
The only problem with having Didak in your team, is that Didak is in your team. I am toying up between the young Fwd/Mid's and the old warhorse forwards... Want NRoo in the team, however have no idea how the boys will perform this year. Dangermouse for his breakout? the one he was meant to have last year!
For all the past frustration of Dangermouse, he has improved his average every year, and has a sweet early draw.
Is Fyfe worth his price tag this season(585,700), considering he is only a third year player? Post season shoulder and groin surgery have really limited his pre season training. With endurance being his main strength he may be a somewhat limited player in the first half of the season. Could become a handy upgrade at some point, probably around the byes? Thoughts?
