Walsey or one the admins/mods feel free to make this a post on main page (I could but didnt want to go overstepping any boundries!)

Well the wait is almost over; it looks like tomorrow we will find out all of the rule changes for 2012 season of Supercoach. We will also find out how things are set up to help us get around the multi bye weeks.

So far we know that we will be back to squads of 30 players, trades will remain at 24 but we will be able to use 3 during the multi byes.

DTTalk have also mentioned that leagues will be 18 teams and league games will play from round 3-19 with finals during round 20-23. This means that league games WILL happen during the multi byes!!

So stay tuned tomorrow for when its all revealed!!

dont like that at all :( was really hoping that squads would be kept at 33 which in itself would have helped during the multi byes and with teams expected to rest and rotate a lot more in 2012 like the cats did so well this year.

Also would have loved trades to be reduced to 20 to make them a bit more valuable and penalise those who butcher them early. playing games during the multi bye rounds will be a bit of a lottery so can only hope weak oppenents await in those games.

On a more positive note love your pic there thunda!

Im happy its back to 30, makes it that little bit harder. Whilst agree 20 trades better, i think we are really going to need them for the multi bye period especially given there are league games!!

Glad you like the pic :)

It's good the squads have gone back to 30. I like that the trades have remained at 24 because I like trading, although it may allow teams to become too strong.

Im assuming the DT changes will roll over to SC.

    Following quotes from this link
    http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/127309/default.aspx

That said other new DT features include:

..coaches will be allowed to move DPPs as part of a trade without having a matching DPP in the other position.

For instance, coaches can elect to trade out a midfielder, such as Collingwood star Dane Swan. If they have a DPP in their group of defenders who is also a midfielder, like St Kilda's Brendon Goddard was in 2011, Goddard can be moved into Swan's position as a midfielder, meaning coaches can effectively trade a defender to replace a midfielder.

Which is really awesome, definitely adding another element to trading!

As well as something that will destroy me

Furthermore, in good news for compulsive Monday morning traders, there will be a 'reverse' feature in place right up until each round's lockout. This will reverse all changes made to your team during the week - including trades, captain and vice-captain choices, emergencies and substitutes - and return it to what it was at the start of the week.

Dream Team's 'undo' button will go a long way to safeguarding coaches against late injuries, illness or omissions. Many suffered in 2011 when they traded Heath Shaw into their squads on Thursday, only to see the Magpie banned for the last eight weeks of the Dream Team season under gambling rules on Friday hours before the round's lockout commenced.

Nothing can beat the sense of relief after the final teams are out when you make THE trade even though you were tossing up a number of options.
Once its done and locked it you don't worry or weigh up the options anymore, this new feature however is going to mean it doesnt end til the final bounce....

The other major changes to the structure of the Dream Team for 2012 are as follows:

    - Squads will revert to 30 players per team (down from 33 in 2011).
    - Head-to-head leagues will increase to 18 teams to reflect the AFL.
    - Head-to-head leagues will start from round three and run through to round 19. Each team plays every other team once before the league finals start in round 20 and conclude in round 23.
    - League games will continue through rounds 11-13, even with six teams having their mid-season bye in each of the three rounds.
    - Total trades will remain at 24. An additional trade (up to three each week) will be available in rounds 11, 12 and 13. A maximum of two per week as usual (from the total of 24) is available for every other round.
