2015 Auction thread

OK, saw YAD had mentioned an auction thread. Before we start, are people happy to have this? There will need to be a few rules: 1. All players or picks to be auctioned should be listed with a closing day/time. 2. All players or picks being auctioned cannot be pulled before that day/time. 3. No asset being auctioned should be the subject of private trade negotiations nor used as part of a bid in another auction, until the auction of the asset has reached it's conclusion/closing time, with or without a sale. 4. All bids are to be made in the thread, not via PM. 5. Stating a reserve, or a preferred return type for the auctioned asset is voluntary. 6. The reserve is not reached on any asset until the seller says so. 7. Once a reserve has been reached the seller has the option to adjust the auction length, but to no less than 48 hours, or the end of the trade period, whichever is the lesser. 8. As soon as practical after receiving multiple bids on an asset the seller should indicate whom is in front, any reasoning is optional. 9. All auctions are final and irreversible unless via subsequent mutually agreed trade 10.Remember, as per the rules you can only trade picks from the next 2 drafts. Thoughts? Is everyone happy with this? I've seen it in the other leagues and it looks like it creates a bit of activity and excitement, might even help drive up prices if your player is wanted by more than one coach! I've got some I'd like to put up but will wait until there has been some feedback on this process.

Just noticed in the ORFFA they have been talking about the trade and auction periods running consecutively rather than concurrently. This would help prevent trades being PM'd for players that are up for auction. I think we should look at this, auction period first, say 29/9/14 - 12/10/14, then trade period 13/10/14 - 26/10/14. What's the coaches thoughts?

AUCTION I'll follow E-E and put two players, Adam Cooney and Stewart Crameri up for Auction. This Auction will close at 11.59pm(AEST) on Friday, 3rd Oct.2014. Adam Cooney is a 29yo MID taken in the 2003 draft as the No1 Priority pick. He is also the 2008 winner of the Brownlow Medal and managed 18 games in 2014, 3 of them sub-affected. Discounting the sub affected matches, he had a season high score of 139 and an average of 99. Of the 11 games he played that registered in ORFFU, 6 were over 100. A big bodied mid at 187cm/88kgs, he should really fire next season, especially if he gets an un interupted pre-season behind him. Stewart Crameri is a 26yo FWD who played 22 games in 2014 for a low av of 68, with a season high of 118. This was his first season at The Dogs but with a young improving midfield to supply him quality ball, he should really improve his scoring potential in the coming seasons.
