I haven't set a deadline for the voting but if the majority have voted and there is a clear winner in the lead up to the 'FU Grand Final then I will announce the winner next week. The 2015 POOYA Nominees are: Round 1
    Sam Docherty (Banchang):
Was traded from Southern Cross (along with pick 5) for Brad Crouch in the offseason and he started 2015 by repaying the new coach's faith in him with his best score for the year of 147 to help Banchang overcome Gisborne by 389 points. His score came from 23 disposals, 10 contested and 107 DT points. In what has been a disappointing team for the Blues his next 3 figure score wouldn't come until round 6 when he scored 100.
2014: Averaged 76.8 from 16 games. Top score of 110 and 3 scores of 100+.
    2015: Averaged 87.6 from 17 games. Top score of 147 and 3 scores of 100+. Round 2
    Tory Dickson (Coolgardie):
The 27 year old survived the offseason cull and he started 2015 well with scores of 82 and 119 in the first 2 rounds. His 119 point effort came from 17 disposals and 4 goals 2 and it was 1 of 5 games he had where he score 4 goals or more. He wouldn't better this SC score until round 19.
2014: Averaged 46.0 from 4 games. Top score of 83.
    2015: Averaged 78.7 from 19 games. Top score of 127 and 4 scores of 100+. Round 3
    Dylan Roberton (Nuytsland):
Sometimes all it takes it a new coach to bring the best out of a player and Roberton did just that this year when bryzza took the Viking coaching reigns. In round 3, Dylan scored 123 points from 28 possessions, 13 contested, 8 marks and 2 behinds from the half back line.
2014: Averaged 50.0 from 7 games. Top score of 73.
    2015: Averaged 93.5 from 18 games. Top score of 144 and 5 scores of 100+. Round 4
    Patrick Cripps (Groote Eylandt):
Top scored in this AFL match with 172 from 33 possessions, 23 contested, 4 marks, 11 tackles and 1 goal in the absence of Chris Judd. It was his best score for the year and proved an astute pick at number 13 in the 2013 National Draft. The cherry on top was that he played OOP in the ruck and took the points in the Big Tap against Mark Jamar.
2014: Averaged 39.3 from 3 games. Top score of 74.
    2015: Averaged 95.4 from 17 games. Top score of 172 and 6 scores of 100+. Round 4
    Billy Longer (Serengeti):
Has been fighting hard for the no. 1 ruck mantle at both the Saints and the Buffalos and finally shone in round 4 to be joint POOYA winner this round. He scored 140 points from 34 hitouts, 6 disposals, 2 marks and a clearance and this was his best score for the year. He wouldn't score above 100, let alone 75 SC points, until round 14 when he was again a joint weekly POOYA winner.
2014: Averaged 65.3 from 16 games. Top score of 96.
    2015: Averaged 68.3 from 18 games. Top score of 140 and 2 scores of 100+. Round 5
    Chris Mayne (Blanchetown):
After a slow start to the year Chris put forward his best effort with 155 points from 18 disposals, 8 contested, 9 marks, 4 goals 1 behind. It was only one of 2 rounds this year when he kicked more than 2 goals in a match.
2014: Averaged 71.0 from 21 games. Top score of 126 and 2 score of 100+.
    2015: Averaged 80.7 from 18 games. Top score of 155 and 2 scores of 100+. Round 6
    Levi Casboult (Gisborne):
This was one of just 4 occassions where Casboult scored more than 75 points. His 127 points came from 13 hitouts, 11 disposals, 8 contested, 6 marks, 4 goals 2 behinds. It was his only 3 figure score for the year and averaged just 56 from here on until round 20.
2014: Averaged 65.0 from 19 games. Top score of 91.
    2015: Averaged 64.0 from 16 games. Top score of 127 and 1 score of 100+. Round 7
    Matthew Priddis (King Island):
One of the best scores by anyone this year, Priddis scored 196 points from 39 disposals, 11 contested, 6 marks and 2 goals. He's been fairly consisted with 2014 form but managed to improve his best score and it was the highest score we'd seen since 2012.
2014: Averaged 112.8 from 22 games. Top score of 155 and 16 scores of 100+.
    2015: Averaged 113.7 from 19 games. Top score of 196 and 14 scores of 100+. Round 8
    Jordan Murdoch (King Island):
Was averaging 56.4 before pulling out a 152 point effort from 26 disposals, 5 contested, 8 marks, 4 goals and 1 behind. It was just 1 of 2 matches where he kicked more than 1 goal all year.
2014: Averaged 64.3 from 21 games. Top score of 101 and 1 score of 100+.
    2015: Averaged 69.4 from 16 games. Top score of 152 and 2 scores of 100+. Round 9
    Rory Laird (Blanchetown):
Came of age in 2015 and pulled out a score of 131 from 27 disposals, 13 contested, 3 marks and 8 tackles. His match up on Ballantyne allowed him to do well and he carried this form into next week by bettering this 131 round with a 132 the following weekend.
2014: Averaged 59.3 from 16 games. Top score of 104 and 2 scores of 100+.
    2015: Averaged 93.7 from 18 games. Top score of 132 and 7 scores of 100+. Round 10
    Callan Ward (Hughenden):
One of the original defectors to the GWS startup, Ward repaid the faith last year averaging more than 100. His 175 points came from 32 disposals, 17 contested, 5 marks and a goal. While he's no stranger to 100+ scores, the 175 points was a personal best for him.
2014: Averaged 112.8 from 20 games. Top score of 145 and 15 scores of 100+.
    2015: Averaged 105.9 from 19 games. Top score of 175 and 12 scores of 100+. Round 14
    Jack Darling (Groote Eylandt):
Had an interrupted start to the year but in only his 3rd match for the year he managed 146 points from 16 disposals, 10 marks, 5 goals and 2 behinds. Round 14 was just 1 of 2 rounds where he kicked more than 2 goals in a match.
2014: Averaged 80.2 from 22 games. Top score of 116 and 5 scores of 100+.
    2015: Averaged 82.9 from 9 games. Top score of 146 and 2 scores of 100+. Round 14
    Billy Longer (Serengeti):
The joint round 4 winner won again 10 rounds later scoring 130 points from 35 hitouts, 18 disposals, 7 contested and 8 marks.
2014: Averaged 65.3 from 16 games. Top score of 96.
    2015: Averaged 68.3 from 18 games. Top score of 140 and 2 scores of 100+. Round 15
    Joe Daniher (Serengeti):
Young Joe made his way to the plains of Serengeti during the bye rounds and he repaid wrightbrendan's faith scoring 127 points from 13 disposals, 7 contested, 6 marks and 5 goals. It was a personal best effort for him and showed the coach a glimpse of what's likely to come in future seasons.
2014: Averaged 59.4 from 20 games. Top score of 103 and 1 score of 100+.
    2015: Averaged 63.9 from 19 games. Top score of 134 and 2 scores of 100+. Round 16
    Todd Goldstein (Korumburra):
While Priddis' 196 points was the best score we'd seen in about 3 years, it only took Goldy a couple of months to top that effort with 221 points coming from 56 hitouts, 27 disposals, 14 contested, 8 marks, 1 goal 2 behinds. Young Shaun McKernan never stood a chance but it was round 12 against GWS when he dominated the centre circle with 80 hitouts.
2014: Averaged 106.9 from 21 games. Top score of 166 and 12 scores of 100+.
    2015: Averaged 130.9 from 19 games. Top score of 221 and 16 scores of 100+. Round 17
    Callum Sinclair (Pakenham):
Took the R2 mantle out West and had a day out against a poor Sydney ruck outfit. His best score of the year (134) came from 29 hitouts, 21 disposals, 11 contested, 9 marks and a goal. The 134 was his best score over the past 2 years and this round was his highest possession game for the year.
2014: Averaged 64.6 from 4 games. Top score of 76.
    2015: Averaged 75.9 from 14 games. Top score of 134 and 2 scores of 100+. Round 18
    Stewart Crameri (Pakenham):
Scored 136 points from 19 disposals, 7 contested, 5 marks, 7 goals and 2 behinds. He had 3 games where he kicked more than 2 goals and this was one of them. It was also his best score across the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
2014: Averaged 68.1 from 22 games. Top score of 118 and 3 scores of 100+.
    2015: Averaged 74.1 from 14 games. Top score of 136 and 1 score of 100+. Round 19
    Ben Howlett (Nuytsland):
Scored 111 points from 20 disposals, 9 contested, 6 marks and 2 goals in what has been a disappointing year for the Bombers. While it wasn't his best score for the year he hadn't score 100+ since round 8.
2014: Averaged 72.2 from 20 games. Top score of 150 and 2 scores of 100+.
    2015: Averaged 75.5 from 17 games. Top score of 113 and 4 scores of 100+. Round 20
    Mitch Robinson (Nuytsland):
Had enough of Malthouse in the off season and moved north to the Sunshine State. He scored 166 points from 33 disposals, 13 contested, 6 marks and a goal. It was his best score all year and happened during a purple patch averaging 125 over 4 rounds.
2014: Averaged 83.1 from 12 games. Top score of 128 and 2 scores of 100+.
2015: Averaged 89.8 from 18 games. Top score of 166 and 6 scores of 100+.

Dickson's had a good year JPK, no doubt, but I don't reckon his season compares with...... 2014: Averaged 39.3 from 3 games. Top score of 74.
2015: Averaged 95.4 from 17 games. Top score of 172 and 6 scores of 100+.

If you turned it off... you failed! I can see exactly how the voting is going. Which is how I know that no-one has voted for my boy Dickson!

I can't see the progress voting so appreciated the update. Has built the anticipation on who that runaway leader might be! Maybe it is an admin thing that allows others to see?

Put it this way... I didn't vote for someone in my own team, which was pretty tempting to do!

JORDAN MURDOCH King Island can add the 2015 POOYA award to their trophy cabinet to sit along side the minor premiership they won this year. For those who are not able to view the votes, here's how they were cast 6 Murdoch 3 Cripps 2 Roberton 1 Casboult, Daniher, Goldstein, Priddis, Sinclair, Ward

Really? 5 scores above a ton, a top of 144... 123 is hardly POOOYA.

Cripps from 39 to 95...? I actually saw the season POOYA as the best once-off game of all. Not the best improvement on season average. Do we have any clarity on this, or is it just a matter of voting however we choose?

I reckon it's just a vote for the weekly winner for the overall winner for the year. I would have loved to have young Patty Cripps to win it but it's up to each coach to decide who it is at the end of the day.

I always viewed it as best out of the box game during the year. I'd never thought about it from perspective of improving their average year on year coz I guess an increased average (to me at least) signifies improvement rather than a one off performance that's not going to be repeated. Perhaps we need a BIFU (Best Improved FU) Award?

I based my vote on best improved for the year, otherwise would there be no point in voting who POOYA as wouldn't it be obvious?
