    So 17 home and away FU games have been played, we've seen plenty of SC scores being pulled out from backsides, 17 worthy weekly POOYA winners have been determined. The time has come to vote for the most worthy POOYA performance of 2017.

    Voting will only be open for 1 week and will close next Thursday August 24th.

    What determines the biggest POOYA? It's an out of the blue performance, unlikely to be seen again. Not necessarily a one-off never to be repeated but a performance that has a very small likelihood of happening again.

    2016 saw a few POOYA's. Melbourne Cup winner Prince of Penzance was at odds of 101:1 before galloping to victory over 3200 metres. English Premier League winners Leicester City were 5000:1 outsiders and won in thoroughly convincing fashion. Angelique Kerber was paying $41 prior to the Australian Open before defeating Serena Williams in the final. The Bulldogs were paying $67 before the Elimination Finals to win the Premiership and we all know how that turned out.

    So your 2017 nominees are:
    Round 1
    Elliot Yeo (Hughenden):
    Scored 139 points in a 2 point loss to the Blowflies.

    @Mick

    Congrats to Korumburra's Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti for taking out the 2017 POOYA Award!!!!

    His FU Round 17 score came from 16 disposals (10 kicks), 4 marks, 5 tackles, 3 goals, 9 contested possessions and 2 clearances to help the Dons take down the Blues by 8 points at the MCG.

    Anthony's effort sees his join a small group of elite POOYA players in Jake Carlisle (2014), Jordan Murdoch (2015) and Mitch Brown (2016).

    The trophy has been given to the engraving team and will be sent to Korumburra early next week.
