Bit tough leaving the lockout on the 1st Saturday match with Gee Hawks teams not even released yet for Monday, cant switch Reeves to Meek alas.
Another week another injury, its frustrating. This time its Setters, hoping its only a week. Another Loss, next week cannot roll around fast enough.
As a board member ever I would expect all of the board members to be raising perceived issues in advance not as an afterthought. Also if you have named Curnow and Rankine as IC1 and IC2 then you wouldn’t have needed an IC Emergency and could have named your hawks rucks in whatever order you wanted. So if teams are managing all of their risks they can then there may be more of an argument to consider an extended round lockout.
Not sure I understand mate, my apologies. As a Board member I shouldn't raise an issue in the thread, or I should have done it advance? I think anyone can discuss probs anytime, and no, I didn't see this problem in advance. As I write this post, Monday teams still haven't been released....we have a lock out on Saturday. 99% of the time that's fine. This week it isn't. Period. I didn't realize that the AFL would force Sunday squads to be named Thursday night but Monday teams wouldn't be named until Sunday night. Ultimately, extended rounds need a rolling lock out, that's all. I have both Hawk rucks, but I know Reeves (the perceived starter) played VFL yesterday but I cant switch him out to Meek, even before the teams have been announced - due to the lockout.
The 29ers 12/841 have a narrow lead over the Shags 10/819 @anthak Heard Island will have 5 players across the 2 Sunday games and the 29ers will need massive games from the Bont and Hayden McLean if they are to keep the margin below triple figures for Hardwick to chase in the Easter Monday game.
Unofficial scores have the hometown Shags @anthak all out for 1063 leading the 29ers 14/985 with Blake Hardwick the remaining 29er to take the field to complete proceedings.
In a week of hard-fought ORFFF matches the Round 3 winners were Heard Island (by 31), Mac Island (42), the Pony’s (57), Jan Juc (66), Walpole (88), Drouin (206), Mt Thirsty (345) and Neptune Island (503). The Woylies, Dropbears and Pony’s remain undefeated while the Power, Fugs and Magpies are the 3 sides yet to tally their first win of season 2024. Round 4 will be AFL bye free so be sure to bring your GWS and Sunds players back into you r lineup prior to Thursday night.
