With Callinan and Mzunga MPP rookies injured a lot of people have lost their flexibility. I have some but not happy with all in my list wondering who I have overlooked at this point. Looking for opinions on starters. I Have : Tilia D/F Krackhore F/M Heppwell D/M Hibbard D/M Prestia F/M Schneider F/M
For under 250k with MPP, I'm only starting Krakouer, McKernan and Hibberd. McKernan doesn't link with anyone for me yet, but if Markovic is named before lockout I will be enabling this link. Not currently convinced that there is enough value in anyone else to spend the $$ on them in my starting lineup. Looking to enable more MPP once Mzungu and Callinan are availalbe as mid-season downgrade targets. Whilst it is annoying that these guys aren't available to start, their MPP will be juicy when they do eventually debut, probably making them bench-keepers for the remainder of the season.
You have Ben Jacobs & Xavier Clarke as downgrade targets in defence as well. The curse of the MPP rookie continues.... In defence you could look at Brodie Smith and maybe Simon Buckley. Both have shown something this preseason. Forward add on Isaac Smith. Early wraps were a bit higher than what he's shown so far but if he gets named he warrants consideration. One of the things I was enjoying most about picking my team this year was the wealth of MPP rookies available. I think I can speak for everyone when I say; We don't need any more MPP downgrade targets.

He's very light and looked lost for 95% of the night kept getting caught in no mans land not sure weather to keep leading or drop back.

I hope its just nerves and he can work through it because he obviously has a lot of talent.
In my lineup: Krakouer (M/F) Heppell (D/M) McKernan (D/F) Jacobs (D/M) Hibberd (D/M) Petrie (R/F) Smith (M/F) So I have a fair few but some are set to make a run 1st round and brings flexibility to my side
@BennyC88 Ben Jacobs has glandular fever at the moment and is listed as out for an indefinite length of time. I'd look again a for R1 starter in his place.

I have: Heppell Hibberd JTippett Krakouer ISmith my main prob with callinan and muzungu going down is that, I now have all my M/F in the forward line, and dont really want to part with any of my mid rookies to free up a spot to move one. ie, my mid rookies are better than any f rookies that i dont have IMO.
@Jason Cheers mate, didn't read that anywhere. Time to look around elsewhere. Sucks that he got Glandular Fever though.
No worries Benny. It's not secret info though, it's listed on the AFL injury list. Check it out here if you haven't previously visited: http://www.afl.com.au/news/blogarticlestandard/tabid/15692/newsid/108993/default.aspx

While he missed a few weeks of valuable training, plus game time which he was certain to have got, he won't be far off of getting a run with his SANFL team (not sure who he's aligned to) so hopefully he'll pick up some fitness and touch, and be back in the selection frame soon - is very highly rated at the club. Not a total write-off yet - will be a potential good downgrade target.

I was looking at the available forward rookies and have settled on Billie Smedts from Geelong. He was their first pick this year, and Scott has already indicated that the youngsters will get more playing time. He's on my bench in the forward line and I am willing to leave him there for a while considering he is a D/F MPP. I have Gilbert in my backline so he comes in nice and handy in that regard. He'll get games at some point. I'm not convinced McKernan will even get a game at Adelaide unless they have injuries. Tippett is their number one forward and they won't want to lose Walker which will 100% happen if the play McKernan ahead of him.
PS I agree totally with Jacobs. Port passed on Lycett (when they need a ruckman) to take him, so they obviously rate him quite highly. So he'll get games when available.
I have: Heppell Hibberd Krak McKernan However depending on things shape up Prestia may take McKernan's spot. Though his current position in the team doesn't look too promising. Not convinced I Smith or Schneider will get games.
